YWA Home day 14 (27 minutes) outside after dinner on the desk. beautiful skies tonight! I really miss practising outside on my work days - has been lovely to get outside so much this weekend.

Poisonwood · 13/10/2024 19:40

That sounds lovely @PatienceOfEngels, all my yoga today has been fireside yoga! The crackle of the burning logs was a nice add.
YWA Self Love (24min), YWA Meditation for Self Love (12min), YWA Menstrual Phase (22min) and Yoga for Perimenopause with Marnie (20min)

Poisonwood · 14/10/2024 19:25

YWA Peaceful Warrior (28 min) and Tranquilo (28 min) today. Both very enjoyable. Will also do the YWA Rest: Sweet Dreams bed yoga in bed tonight…last night I attempted a bedtime meditation but fell asleep immediately 😂.

I had my blood pressure taken today and the difference just six weeks of daily yoga has made is insane - I was due to be put on hypertension meds and now I am absolutely in the normal range!

PatienceOfEngels · 14/10/2024 21:36

Ywa Home day 15 at work today. 20 something minutes. Good flow.

Sooverthemill · 15/10/2024 09:43

Kassandra two days running. She talks less!

PatienceOfEngels · 15/10/2024 11:27

YWA Home day 16 (22mins) outside in the autumn sunshine.

Poisonwood · 15/10/2024 11:56

That sounds nice @PatienceOfEngels
I’ll have to give Kassandra a go @Sooverthemill

YWA Courage (28 min)) and Ustrasana practice (16 min) this morning.
YWA Breathing Room Arms and Shoulers (30 min) and Bed yoga & meditation (28 min) tonight.

Yogachick · 15/10/2024 18:34

Yoga for Courage tonight, from the calendar.
Great to hear your blood pressure improvements @Poisonwood ,you’re doing a LOT of yoga,so much more disciplined than me.
Are you feeling benefits to consistency @PatienceOfEngels ?
I know what you mean @Sooverthemill ,it was fine with my practice today but it’s why I often stray from Adriene, too much talky

@yogachick I think it’s the joy of finally finding something apart from swimming that actually makes my poor body feel good!

I think I may need to start keeping a journal of what I think about each video so I can keep track.

PatienceOfEngels · 16/10/2024 08:48

I'm definitely noticing a difference with my breathing and relaxation @Yogachick . Physically I am more flexible in certain poses like forward fold and downward dog, and stepping my foot up into lunges is definitely getting easier.

I am finding this current 30 day very slow and a lot of talking though (Home) and often find myself moving through the poses quicker with a few extra. I found Move and Try more physically demanding so may try something like Revolution or Yoga Camp next as I think the earlier ones are a bit harder.

Just done Home day 17 (29mins) which was very slow. @Poisonwood I am using this thread as a way of keeping track of what I think about videos 😁

Shavasana · 16/10/2024 08:54

Please can I join your virtual mat? I’m not an Adriene fan but use other sites. I aim for a daily yoga practice too and have recently discovered that breaking my practice into two smaller sessions makes me feel amazing. Has anyone else tried and noticed this?

Sooverthemill · 16/10/2024 12:01

@Shavasana you are very welcome. I haven't done that but simply because I only have a short time in the morning to do my practice and I can't do anything later in the day ( I care for now adult DD who is bedbound )

Shavasana · 16/10/2024 12:56

Thank you 🙏

Poisonwood · 16/10/2024 18:37

@Shavasana hello 👋
I often split mine in to morning and evening, in fact I frequently do three as the children like us to do joint yoga after school and I may need some peaceful yoga after they’ve gone to bed!

Today I did 2 hours, incorporating Sun Salutations and lots of nice deep hip work, from Adriene and Marnie.

Yogachick · 17/10/2024 19:30

Welcome @Shavasana .Im flakey on just getting even one short session in,so am all in for whatever makes your practice work for you!
Today was this 15 minute Sarah Beth

the explanation of muscle engagement & how to get into revolved triangle & revolved half moon is really clear and helpful. @PatienceOfEngels Yoga Camp is very talky with a lot about mantras & long practices if I remember correctly, just for info.I never did that one because of that, same as I didn’t do Home as I found it too slow. Revolution is strong ,when I had a strong regular practice it was absolutely my favourite. Viva Revolution is a little follow on,not sure if it’s only on the app though. I’m tempted to join you when you do Revolution 😃

I’m going to try that video tomorrow @Yogachick thanks for sharing it.

Today I actually ended up doing 3 hours of yoga as was bored on rainy day off…lots of good balance practice included. Very relaxed now!

Shavasana · 17/10/2024 20:41

Thank you for the video! I wfh on a Thursday and it’s helped me through my day on a screen to do 10 minutes first thing, three five minutes of child’s pose throughout the day then a brilliant longer workout later on. I’ll try to post the link, never done it before so not sure if it’s going to work!!!

Poisonwood · 17/10/2024 21:32

@Shavasana you might find Adriene’s Desk Yoga good to do on wfh days.

Shavasana · 17/10/2024 22:42

Thank you, will look out for it!!

Shavasana · 18/10/2024 00:25

This is what I did this evening

Shavasana · 18/10/2024 00:26

I hope the link is successful, it’s to a Five Parks Yoga practice

PatienceOfEngels · 18/10/2024 09:42

Thanks @Yogachick that's really helpful. I will try Revolution next then I think!

I didn't get to the mat yesterday. Has been a really testing week with DC ending up in hospital (broken bone) and lots of other work stuff which has meant routine is completely out of whack and now half term plans all up in the air (and I'm someone who really needs their routine). Had to cancel nice things I had planned for myself and have no headspace )or physical space!) for myself. Plus the endless stream of "mum, can you just...?" has reached end of half term silliness. I am so fed up with other people's demands and incompetence.

My head is full and I know that doing some yoga will help but at the moment I feel really mentally stuck.

Yogachick · 18/10/2024 10:02

@PatienceOfEngels im sorry to hear of your troubles, it’s just layer upon layer sometimes isn’t it🙁even if you have to pause Home ,5 mins helps- speaking from experience. Sarah Beth is Queen of the 5 minute practice imo, but Adriene has some shorties as well.
I’ve been searching for and saving the YWA calendars I want to do. Finding Revolution was a bit awkward but I found it & managed to sign up for the emails accidentally.Found the practice times as well which aren’t printed on the calendar. As I got an email this morning I started with Ease. There’s hovering table, plank & some leg lifts in there so ease is a bit subjective, I knew Revolution is a strong one though. And I feel SO much better for practicing
The link did work@Shavasana ,Ive saved that one to do another time so Thankyou, the description sounds lush

@Shavasana thanks, I like recommendations for practices.

@PatienceOfEngels no wonder you are feeling frazzled! I hope the broken bone heals well and quickly. We are at the end of two weeks holidays and the weather has been awful - I think we are all a little fed up of each other!

Managed another couple of hours of yoga today, it went some way to helping me not fret quite so much waiting for an important phone call from doctor. A few Surya Namaskara A&B, YWA Core, Calves, Empower, and Yoga with Marnie Perimenopause (my body really likes this one) and Foot to Crown.
