Hello! Making a new thread for Flow devotees to continue our yoga together. Any YWA devotees welcome! ( and it doesn’t have to be flow, I will Repeat flow but may also do Center)

I'm still going with exhale, although a few days behind - I committed the sin of missing two days in a row on Friday/Saturday but got back on it today with several short sessions this morning and evening (not all in one go!).

Jumbojem · 17/03/2024 21:13

@froginawell not feeling stronger in the core just yet but I will repeat the ones which I felt worked for me. My core is a huge weakness for me. I get a lot of lower back stiffness and I tilt my pelvis (anterior tilt) which I've known for years. It's only through yoga I've realised these things are all connected, a stronger core would help my back and hopefully correct the tilt (I've had this so long, pre pregnancy so don't know if it's a lost cause).
I did a Sarah Beth full body stretch this weekend. Nice to try a different person for some different stretches but the background overly dramatic music coupled with her motivational messages weren't really me, felt a bit American and faux. I think if I'm going to stray from YWA from time to time it will be with Kassandra, although there are plenty of others to try out there!

froginawell · 17/03/2024 21:15

I'm being a bit kinder to myself these days @OhOneOhTwoOhThree !

I'm not convinced it's great for me to yoga everyday, as long as we are regularly getting in the mat, and coming back to it rather than feeling like we've failed, I think we are doing well!

I wasn't sure I could do the 30 days in Jan, and look at us all still here in March! Amazing!

Doireallywanttodothis · 18/03/2024 12:21

Hello, hope I can joint he thread. I picked poga up again last year with a weekly class but also really wanted to develop a dialy practice. I've finally got round to it! Have been doing Kassandra's 10 minute morning challenge for the past two and a bit weeks, which I'm really enjoying, alongside my normal yoga class. Even though it's only ten minutes I can really feel the difference in my strength (which is a massive issue for me - flxibility is good).

Sooverthemill · 19/03/2024 11:12

Hi everyone, still on the bench - teeny tiny physio exercises each day

Yogachick · 19/03/2024 11:31

Well done @Sooverthemill 👏👏👏

Jumbojem · 22/03/2024 10:35

@Sooverthemill keep going, you'll get there!

I did Move Day 6 this morning. Didn't really enjoy it, some core stuff I find my hip flexors do the work rather than abs and a lot of the moves in Move I had this issue. I have Flow and Breathe Day 6s to go next week and then I've done them all.
Need to get a new challenge for March. @Doireallywanttodothis I may look at Kassandra for a March challenge as I enjoy her practices. Not mad keen on the "ohhmmm" at the end though, prefer Adrienne's "namaste".

Doireallywanttodothis · 22/03/2024 12:03

@Jumbojem In the morning flow challenge she’s been saying namaste!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 22/03/2024 21:23

I'm still plugging away with Adrienne. Like @froginawell said I'm not doing it every single day, but hey, that's better than not doing it at all.

This morning was just what I needed, yoga for when you are lacking motivation 🙂

Yogachick · 23/03/2024 07:15

Still inconsistently plodding with Kassandra. Day 24 today. This was a good one, lots of hip openers,I’m so impressed with how much she packs in to just 10 minutes without feeling anything is rushed. I have to thank @Sooverthemill for bringing her to my attention x However,I’ve missed a couple of days and it’s scary at my age how stiff I’ve gotten again. Consistency is definitely the key to maximise benefit!

Yogachick · 23/03/2024 07:17

@Jumbojem the Kassandra challenge I’m doing ends on ‘namaste’ which I like, haven’t come across an ‘om’ yet ,fortunately,as I too would find that offputting

Jumbojem · 23/03/2024 21:13

How strange, all the Kassandra one I've done all ended in an Ohmm! I did her Spring Equinox today, I found it tough. Not least as I didn't know so the poses she said so when I was facing away from the screen I wasn't really sure if I was doing them right. It included rock stars which I find challenging, and the dreaded side planks.
I still have some YWA day 6's to get through but for March I've chosen a random mix of body areas/focuses and length of practices from both Adrienne and Kassandra and added them to my YouTube "watch later". I do yoga 3 or 4 days a week so think I've got enough for March in there. My challenge will be a 54 minute one of Kassandra's!

Jumbojem · 27/03/2024 14:27

I completed the 10th YWA Day 6 this morning, the one from Breathe. It was a 28 minute one so I was a bit nervous but the first 7 minutes is breath work. A fair bit of plank though.
Also did Day 6 Flow this week as well, quick and simple one I'll def do again!
Which Kassandra challenge have you been doing @Yogachick @Doireallywanttodothis is it a recent one?

Doireallywanttodothis · 27/03/2024 14:33

@Jumbojem It’s the 30 day 10 minute morning one - I think it’s 3/4 years old. I’ve been taking a break though as got the dreaded lurgy that’s doing the rounds and it developed into a chest infection for my husband. Managed to drag myself to a vinyassa class this morning and really glad I did, so hopefully that will get me back into the flow.

Rummikub · 29/03/2024 11:31

Must do easter yoga. I’ve skipped a few and I’m sure I ache more as a result.

froginawell · 29/03/2024 11:44

I've also been out for a couple of wills with the cough/cold/exhaustion lurgy that is going around. Will get back to the mat this weekend

Rummikub · 29/03/2024 11:56

Just thought I’d look at say 13 flow and as she started on her back I thought I can do that.
She tricked me. I just couldn’t lift my tail bone whilst my legs are in the air!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 29/03/2024 12:41

Hello everyone, happy Easter to all.

I think I’ve done most of the March sessions. I skipped back and forth when I was short of time and doubled up some when I’d missed a day. If I have missed any or will have been a sitting still meditation or a breath one. Ready for something more active next month.

Rummikub · 30/03/2024 13:18

I’m still doing flow. Day 14
another start on your back. Yay!

my abs still hurt from yesterday’s sneaky one. It’s scary how out of shape I got quickly.

Think flow is my favourite so far
then move. I can’t remember the one before move but I stuck at day 4 and repeated that for a month!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 31/03/2024 19:46

I just tried a Kassandra class for tight calves and ankles, but was a bit distracted by the music. I liked the pace and variety for a change, but will be sticking with Adriene again in April. What's everyone else going to do?

I don't think she normally has music! I'm doing the Beginners sessions with Charlie Follows - new playlist every week.

Jumbojem · 01/04/2024 17:12

@OhOneOhTwoOhThree I really like Kassandra for variety but as above poster, never had one with music. I tried a Sarah Beth one and that did have some instrumental music and a voice over rather than her talking through the moves as she did them. Didn't enjoy it at all so don't think she's the one for me!
I am doing a mix of YWA and Kassandra for March, I've added a variety to my YouTube "watch later" and delete when done so I work through the list. Have added some longer ones too force me to do more than the 15-20 mins all the time.
I am hoping to do some of the Kassandra daily 10min ones on top as I I'm hoping to up my running mileage, which means upping the mobility work!

Yogachick · 02/04/2024 06:24

@Jumbojem the Kassandra challenge I’m doing is from 3 years ago. Still sporadic but I’m getting there. Day 27 today,a delightful decrunched for my back. I’m going to aim for more consistency for April. I would start a thread but have no idea how to😏

Jumbojem · 03/04/2024 21:48

So far this month I've done a 15 min morning flow (YWA but it was the eve when I did it!) and lower back love this a.m. I am hoping to give the core one she's just released a go soon.

@JumbojemI did the core one yesterday and thought of you and your core sessions. It’s a good one, I felt it today. It was also a good measure of how much stronger I’ve become since the start of the year.
