Hello! Making a new thread for Flow devotees to continue our yoga together. Any YWA devotees welcome! ( and it doesn’t have to be flow, I will Repeat flow but may also do Center)

OP posts:

I've not followed anything structured as yet in March. Must be better organised for tomorrow!
I did the Quad Release one from the Feb calendar again today as I had a cross country race yesterday, so needed the stretch (although it was my calves more than quads that hurt).

Trickedbyadoughnut · 04/03/2024 12:54

I have been doing bedtime, runner's yoga and the two Flow ab days as I've had a sore foot for a couple of weeks - got back into the Flow today (boom boom) with Day 16, which was a good one to get back to it with - Kindness!

Hopefully the foot holds up to keep going with the rest of Flow.

Jumbojem · 04/03/2024 15:33

I did the OG 30 day series Day 6 today so I'm off to a start on my personal challenge of doing all the Day 6s from the 30 day series in March. May not do them in order as whilst most are around the 25 minute mark a couple are 35 min plus!
I have added them all to my "watch later" on YouTube so I don't waste time scrolling. There were other videos I noticed while I was scrolling so far back which looked interesting so I might spend some time adding these also to my "watch later" so in future I waste less of the yoga time deciding what to do and just get on with it.

Today's was only 16 minutes but fairly intense!

Rummikub · 04/03/2024 16:09

Such a good idea jumbo!

I did day 11 flow. Nice short one but I am unable to fold when sitting down legs outstretched.
I used to be able to stretch!

Liked pigeon though.

froginawell · 05/03/2024 18:56

Had bad news today and feeling a little bit grief-y. So did the back and hips one (move looked like there may be too much time to think)

Is the one where she's off her head on cough medicine, and was what I needed I think

Jumbojem · 06/03/2024 09:34

Sorry to hear that you've had bad news/feel poorly @froginawell

Day 6 from Yoga Camp today, 24 mins long and actually quite liked it as there were lots of breaks between core exercises and some different (challenging) ones (eagle legs bicycle crunches?!).

Also did the new upper body one yesterday. Not my bag I think, it included an unexpected side plank which I am rubbish at.

Trickedbyadoughnut · 06/03/2024 10:18

Thinking of you @froginawell . If you feel like it's right for you, she has a yoga for grief video, I've used it a lot.

I did the yoga for quads yesterday as my new running shoes made my legs feel really beat up. They seem a lot better this morning fortunately.

Yogachick · 07/03/2024 07:24

Still going with Kassandra for 10 minutes a day. I’m getting into my yoga groove and really enjoying. This morning was Day 17 with some upper body work, enough to be a challenge but not too much to feel overwhelmed/failing 😁

Jumbojem · 07/03/2024 20:26

@Yogachick I did a Kassandra 10 min morning one this am as no time for anything longer. Made a nice change from YWA, but crikey it was a a bit challenging. Cat pose but with one leg raised behind you, then she went on to reach back and grab the foot of the raised leg for quad stretch. I couldn't reach my foot on either side and was very wobbly!
She's very no nonsense against Adrienne's chatter.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 08/03/2024 22:35

Sorry you have had bad news @froginawell. Hope you feel better soon.

I have missed a couple of days this week but bearing in mind the "miss one day, but not two in a row" rule I have squeezed in sessions here and there. Going to do one of the short mediations before bed now.

froginawell · 10/03/2024 14:09

Thanks everyone, finally got back into the mat today, and did yoga for comfort and nourishment. One of those lovely sessions where you start breathing and realise that you've not been breathing deeply for days and days!

Exactly what I needed

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 10/03/2024 15:15

Glad you are back on your mat and breathing deeply @froginawell.

I just did the 45 minute full body stretch from earlier in this week's calendar - just what I needed after a long run. Having mixed and matched a bit last week I'm not quite sure where I'm up to - I've missed some days completely, done short ones from later in the month on other days, and haven't kept track. At least I am doing something out days, and that is enough.

Rummikub · 10/03/2024 16:35

Glad you’re feeling better frog.

I did day 12 flow. And just couldn’t get into it. Kept checking how long was left. But carried on and I do feel better for it. I think it’s be a good one if my head would shush!

Jumbojem · 11/03/2024 10:50

Day 6 True - did this Friday and it killed my glutes! It was painful to walk the following day. It was the side crunch things (from gate pose). Wouldn't really recommend unless you want a glute work out.
Day 6 Dedicate - enjoyed this one, but struggled with knees off the mat in table top with one leg raised behind you. But otherwise despite being 28 mins there was a good mix of rest and core work.

I'm now 4 down out of the 10 day 6 practices. I'm enjoying the challenge and will definitely be adding more regular core practices in to my yoga.

ithinkaboutluton · 11/03/2024 19:28

Did day 9 of move, which was curiosity, lots of the pose, which I like.

Impressed by your core plan @Jumbojem , I may try to do some of that too! My core is a bit rubbish

froginawell · 11/03/2024 19:30

Oooh, forgot to name change back again. Also meant tree pose not the pose...

Buttalapasta · 12/03/2024 08:55

I fancied a change so have been doing some Charlie Follows yoga from YouTube. Really nice and stretchy.

froginawell · 13/03/2024 18:31

Move day 10 uplift completed, lost focus at the end but it was good.

Maybe I should be brave and try some other practices at some point! How long are those sessions @Buttalapasta ?

Buttalapasta · 13/03/2024 20:42

@froginawell lots of different ones but I went for 20 minutes.

Jumbojem · 14/03/2024 22:45

Day 6s done from Home, Dedicate and True done in the last week or so. I have done another too but forgot to note the name.
Dedicate was long (36 mins) but not too bad, but I dont think I did the eagle leg crunches right as it was hurting in my hip not obliques.
Home was hard going, a lot of planks/plank dips and boat but it was one where I actually felt I got a decent core workout. I was pretty bad at boat so I think I'll come back to this one to try and improve.
I have 4 left out of the 10 Days 6s in my playlist now, mainly from the more recent series (Breath, move, centre and flow).

froginawell · 15/03/2024 19:02

Move day 11 mobility. Feel like I need to come back to this one a few times! Targets my hip flexors which are a work in progress!

froginawell · 15/03/2024 19:20

Am very impressed with your core plan @Jumbojem , do you feel stronger in your core for it?

mynameiscalypso · 15/03/2024 22:43

I have really slipped recently. I finally put on a random video - something about reconnecting with your body? It was good to get moving but I'm not really feeling it at the moment

froginawell · 16/03/2024 20:42

At least you got back into the mat @mynameiscalypso , sometimes it takes me a few seconds to get back into it...

Did move, day 12, focus...

Not as good as the yesterdays!

mynameiscalypso · 16/03/2024 22:20

Thanks @froginawell, you're so right. Inspired by @Jumbojem, I did Day 6 of Move this evening. Some tricky bits in the first half definitely. I thought my core was pretty okay but clearly not!
