Anyone else excited for this? Ready to get going in the new year?

I got all excited when it was announced but just can't get the site to load. Had anyone else managed to get into it?

OP posts:
HappyNewYears · 06/01/2024 12:55

Much shorter and easier today. I had been a bit worried how full on the first couple were so glad for a slow one.

mynameiscalypso · 06/01/2024 12:57

I do worry that the relative slow pace/ease of today's is because tomorrow's abs one is going to be intense!

Trickedbyadoughnut · 06/01/2024 14:34

Nooooo, why did you remind that tomorrow is Day 6? I was in denial dagnamit 😆

HappyNewYears · 06/01/2024 15:14

Is day 6 always hard?

Day 6 is usually a good workout for the abs.

Sooverthemill · 06/01/2024 16:58

Forgot to post! Day 5 was nicer and I like the slow build up. Hoping day 6 isn’t too tough

CeeCeeDeeBee · 06/01/2024 17:02

I didn't love today, though I am kind of grumpy. Anything like fire hydrants which feels like more of a 'workout' than yoga just makes me want to have a lie down 😂

Still did it, though. Calling it a win!

functioningadult · 06/01/2024 17:31

I struggled a bit today with all of the circling/fire hydrant stuff as one of my hips is, to use the technical term, fucked. Hope tomorrow isn't too brutal

SunUpSunDown · 06/01/2024 17:34

Day Two done...felt good to get on the mat and move gently.

Thank you so much everyone for your kind wishes.

AceofPentacles · 06/01/2024 18:42

Day 5 done with assistance from the dog nibbling my ears throughout

HappyNewYears · 06/01/2024 19:11

I had a cat lying on my arm right at the end. I had shut the door thinking I was alone in the room but he popped out from behind the sofa.

Seagrassbasket · 06/01/2024 20:24

So sorry for your loss @SunUpSunDown

I’m a day behind as missed yesterday, just done day four and my shoulders are protesting from the previous days! And yes it was very weird we only did the left side!

I’ll do 5 and 6 tomorrow to catch up. I usually enjoy ab workouts so looking forward to day 6.

wonderinglywondering · 07/01/2024 07:45

Hello, mind if I join? This is my second time attempting the 30 days, very much a yoga newbie, I used to attend classes but I started in January 2020 and never picked it up again after lockdown.

I'm really enjoying it, my body is so stiff and creaky though! Missed day 5 as was so busy yesterday so just did 5 and 6 together. Although i found the ab work intense, I found I did actually give my belly a little "love" - my third baby is just 4 months old and I've had 3 sections so usually hate my mum pouch but I found myself appreciating it for all it's done, which was unexpected and nice!

wonderinglywondering · 07/01/2024 08:00

@SunUpSunDown, I'm so sorry for your loss.

artforartssakemoneyforgodssake · 07/01/2024 08:13

@SunUpSunDown sending my condolences I hope a few mins each day on the mat bring you some comfort or respite.
@wonderinglywondering welcome

just did day 6 - definitely will be feeling that tomorrow but nice and short.

Sooverthemill · 07/01/2024 08:50

Yikes day 6 was tough. Do not ever like day 6 though. But it’s not like you’re left sweating just knowing where your core lives!

cornishone · 07/01/2024 09:27

Can I join please?

I've managed to get to my mat every day so far, despite having a cold and ear infection which made some of the moves a bit risky!

I'm enjoying it though, and glad I've found this thread.

I think the length is perfect and I'm going to try, from tomorrow, to do it before everyone else gets up.

Watch this space!

SunUpSunDown · 05/01/2024 14:29

Thanks so much for the lovely messages. That's what I love about this little community here - it's a safe space 💚

Good job with being a bit very behind is that I get the useful tips and heads up like the one about D4. I get totally muddled with my lefts and my rights anyway, so that would have really confused me...!

I'm so sorry @SunUpSunDown, go gently with yourself.

If you can find 20 minutes to yourself everyday it would be a lovely way to look after yourself. But also, feel free to watch her whilst lying on the sofa sipping tea.

afaloren · 07/01/2024 10:57

Day 6 done. I was dreading it but ended up really enjoying it! That’s something I love about yoga, the capacity to surprise yourself. Of course my legs were bent and my movements smaller than hers but I still did it.

mynameiscalypso · 07/01/2024 11:05

It's amazing how something so short and seemingly simple can give your abs such a workout. It really shows the value of small, slow conscious movements. I reckon you could have done a much longer and quicker abs workout with loads of different types of crunches and you wouldn't have anywhere near the same burn!

DCINightingale · 07/01/2024 12:16

So sorry for your loss @SunUpSunDown I hope you can find some little moments of peace. Yoga feels like a good way to do that.

I am up to date. Did day 5 straight after a run yesterday and it felt really good. Day 6 was hard but satisfying to have completed it.

I did manage Day 3 today...felt like I had all this pent-up energy to release while being so tired at the same time. It definitely helped, but I also love the watching while lying on the sofa drinking tea idea. I think I'll do that later with the Behind the Scenes (app subscriber here). So far I'm loving the pace of these...20 minutes is just right for where I am at the moment.

@SunUpSunDown how do you find the subscription. I was having a look at it today. Is there lots or additional content?

HappyNewYears · 07/01/2024 15:46

Well I knew I would struggle with an ab heavy practice but my god I struggled. I did do as much as I was able though so will be interesting to see if I am stiff tomorrow. I wish she had built up to it a bit more.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 07/01/2024 16:11

Day 6 done here too. Not as awful as I was expecting, although I'd been for a run and changed the bedding on 3 double beds before getting on the mat, so was happy to be lying down.

I could be imagining it, but out on my run today I felt as though my posture was a bit better and my core a bit stronger. Maybe I was just more mindful about holding myself better.

Back to work tomorrow, so will be part of the evening crew now.
