Anyone else excited for this? Ready to get going in the new year?

I got all excited when it was announced but just can't get the site to load. Had anyone else managed to get into it?

OP posts:

I didn't try plough. Heavy period. Last time I did try it, I couldn't quite get my toes to the floor.

froginawell · 28/01/2024 20:20

Plough was a humbling pose for me!! Toes miles off the ground, stomach was in the way...

I really need to keep going too! Happy to either repeat this or do a previous year, like this thread keeping me on track so will follow whichever most people are doing!

HappyNewYears · 28/01/2024 20:27

I too would like to continue with another 30 day series when this one finishes. I find the thread helps my accountability.

mynameiscalypso · 28/01/2024 20:31

Does anyone do the monthly calendar? I quite liked them a few years ago because you got to explore some of the back catalogue, so to speak, as well as the new videos that she makes. That said, I am also attracted to doing a 30 day one. Not sure whether I'd want to repeat this one though or tackle one from previous years. I'm very attached to the 2015 one because that was the first one I ever did. But I've also missed a lot of the event years for various reasons so would like to try them.

mynameiscalypso · 28/01/2024 22:13

Double post as I've just finished today! Thanks for the warnings about plough. I actually find it very easy to get into - I have no idea why/how because it's not reflective of my general ability! - but I find it a disconcerting pose to hold. There's something about it that just feels a bit unnatural and like my body shouldn't be able to do it.

froginawell · 29/01/2024 06:59

What is the monthly calendar @mynameiscalypso ?

mynameiscalypso · 29/01/2024 07:34

@froginawell She//her team put together a schedule of old videos for the month as well as including any new videos that come out too.

Feb's calendar is here: yogawithadriene.com/calendar/

ErnestCelendine · 29/01/2024 08:42

Great shout about the monthly calendars.

I'm going to follow up with doing all the relevant videos (so not airport or prenatal for example) between Home and Flow, and then decide what's next. Just want to see them all checked off on my YouTube home screen 😅

I couldn't really get in to the flow today and found it quite dull apart from the moment of terror that we'd be doing crow pose! But then suddenly it was over and I felt better than I had 20 mins beforehand.

afaloren · 29/01/2024 11:53

Day 28 done. I used to be able to do Crow Pose before I had my accident so that was interesting. I found today very relaxing. Lots of extended child’s pose which is my absolute jam.

mynameiscalypso · 29/01/2024 13:18

I was surprised how quickly today's went too. I had zero success with the 'crow preparation' poses though. Couldn't even get in the right position to start with, let alone start rocking.

Buttalapasta · 29/01/2024 14:02

I think I might follow the monthly calendars from next month. I enjoyed doing them last year and got through four months before missing a day and then deciding to give up! BAD decision!

Trickedbyadoughnut · 29/01/2024 14:30

This is the first year I have been keeping up - until Saturday! I did my longest long run so far of my HM training cycle and it was such a nice day I did a hilly trail - I was very tired and achey at the end of it. Saturday's was quite an active session and I really thought it was a step too far for me, so I just did the runner's cool down video. It was definitely the right decision for me though.

I did yesterday's at lunchtime and I may do today's before bed to try to get back on track, I've forwarded through it and it looks quite nice except for crow - otherwise perhaps I'll catch up tomorrow.

Trickedbyadoughnut · 29/01/2024 14:33

Oh and I did the plough about 2 hours after I'd eaten and it was still too close ... 😅

28bubble · 29/01/2024 19:11

I didn't attempt plough as I was convinced I'd hurt myself or get stuck somehow and there's no one home to rescue me😂
Good tip on the monthly calendars.

A good habit trick I heard is to set a '2 day rule'. You can miss one day, but you can't miss two. Having that rule in mind has helped me stay on track this month.

CeeCeeDeeBee · 29/01/2024 20:37

I've just caught up on days 23 and 24. Started day 25 but I've also done an hour's IRL yoga class today so I lost the will to live. Determined to finish the challenge on Wednesday, so I've still got some catching up to do in the next two days.

I think I'll do Flow again in Feb, it's a nice one.

Excellent rule! I will keep it.

Looked at the calendar, bit scared by the 40 min sessions! I like this one, may repeat it and then try last years in March!

mynameiscalypso · 29/01/2024 21:52

I think I might use the calendar as a basis but then substitute ones I don't fancy (or long ones...) with a 30 day programme so I always have the option as to which one I want to do and want fits into my day best. But if there are a lot of people all planning to do the same thing, I will happily be a sheep because I like the group accountability!

Can't believe tomorrow's is the last 'proper' one!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 29/01/2024 23:24

Thank you @28bubble for the two day rule! I wasn’t feeling it this evening but decided to get on my mat anyway, in case I am feeling it even less tomorrow. As ever I feel better for having done it.

bellinisurge · 30/01/2024 08:38

Just took a sneak peek of today's for doing later. I'll be testing the boundaries of physical comedy with some of it - think Dawn French vs Darcey Bussell. But I might surprise myself.

afaloren · 30/01/2024 10:33

I knew I couldn’t do crow pose but I also found bunny pose very hard. I kept getting cramp in my foot!

Trickedbyadoughnut · 30/01/2024 10:50

I did manage to do Intuit last night, so back on track in time for the last fully guided one today - I can't believe it's nearly over already.

This has seemed the one that's gone the quickest - previous year's I've been checking my watch at some points during the sessions to see if it's going to be over soon, which I haven't this time!

@mynameiscalypso like you, I can't decide whether to repeat this one or follow the calendar - I guess we have two days to decide!

EBearhug · 30/01/2024 11:06

There are lots of 30 day yoga series online - not just Adriene, but other teachers, too - I've done quite a few over the last 3 years or so, and it means I don't get bored with a particular style or 30 day routine.

Weepingwillows12 · 30/01/2024 12:01

Has anyone tried Cassandra's yoga series. I have heard people recommend it but wondering how it differs to Adriene? Is it similar paced with a mix of flow, stretches, relaxation etc?

EBearhug · 30/01/2024 12:48

Yes. Kassandra's are quite similar to Adriene's, but only 10 minutes long.

HappyNewYears · 30/01/2024 13:47

Does anyone know of one that would have less planks? I can’t do plank at the moment and it’s frustrating when it’s in most days.
