Anyone else excited for this? Ready to get going in the new year?

I got all excited when it was announced but just can't get the site to load. Had anyone else managed to get into it?

OP posts:

I was hustling to keep up today! Plank is still beyond me (I do half plank) but down dog is feeling easier.

mynameiscalypso · 11/01/2024 12:26

Lots of planks today!

It definitely feels like it's gone up a notch, a bit faster and a few different poses. It was a really good stretch though - I think I stretched muscles that I didn't know I had!

Thanks for the heads up, I find the sessions with lots of planks and downward dogs so boring. I’ll do it anyway though!

I liked today. Random question- when Adriene is lying on her stomach, only her toes touch the floor below her knee. When I do it my shins, ankles and feet touch the floor. Is it because she has differently shaped legs (and stronger muscles) or am I doing it wrong??

CeeCeeDeeBee · 11/01/2024 14:34

I liked day 9 yesterday. Though, going against the grain, 'knocking on heaven's door' is a snooze fest for me. I went and got a glass of water instead, came back and she was still going.

Day 10 had so many planks! Didn't help that I did it straight after the gym so arms were already tired

@Buttalapasta when only the fronts of Adriene's toes are on the ground she's in upwards facing dog, which is a really advanced position. She refers to cobra (high or baby) as an alternative as we build strength, which is when the shins, thighs etc touch the ground. Still a good stretch and back bend!

HappyNewYears · 11/01/2024 14:49

Day 10 done, it is becoming a bit boring with the same moves each day.

Sooverthemill · 11/01/2024 15:09

@Buttalapasta when she is just lying on her tummy before she does cobra? I think she simply has better muscles than me!

Yes I mean when she is just preparing for cobra - around 10.25 today but other days too. Maybe she has more muscle "engagement" whereas I am just sort of splatted on the floor. 😂

parrotonmyshoulder · 11/01/2024 17:33

Day 10 done. I’m still feeling my day 6 core when in cobra. Ow!
Bit dull today I thought. I clock watched at times.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 11/01/2024 18:54

Hmmm, the comments are not really selling it to me today. Will have a go when I’m home.

froginawell · 11/01/2024 20:08

Day 10 done. Glad I'm still doing it...

I like the repetition, feel like every day I'm slightly less rubbish at bringing my foot forward into my low lunge!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 11/01/2024 20:27

Day 10 done here too - not as bad as I expected!

functioningadult · 11/01/2024 21:20

I liked the faster pace of Day 10. I'm also getting better at plank which is nice

UnaOfStormhold · 11/01/2024 21:34

Is anyone else finding the music at the end is a bit too upbeat for the post-shivasana mood? Day 8 I was mostly asleep (I do it just before bed so did the last bit snuggled under my duvet in preparation for sleeping) and then woke with a bit of a jolt when the end music started.

I'm sort of liking the consistency but also missing the variety of previous years - I don't quite feel I'm going deeper into the sequence she'd doing either. Still, it's good to be back on the mat. A third of the way through, how did that happen?

cornishone · 11/01/2024 21:49

I liked today although it was a bit repetitive.

I'm finding I can get my right foot into the lunge easily enough but my left side is much harder.

I'm hoping they'll even out.

EmmaStone · 11/01/2024 21:55

Oh dear, I'm very behind again, having caught up on Sunday. It's been a busy week at work, plus other commitments on a couple of evenings, and I just haven't been able to drag myself to practice (even knowing how good it would be...). BUT, hopefully work should start quietening down now, and I'll try to get back up to speed by the end of the weekend...

cornishone · 11/01/2024 22:00

Also I've checked the chart and tomorrow is only 17 minutes 💥

narniabusiness · 11/01/2024 22:40

I’ve been really enjoying this series because I enjoy the slightly more active ones at this time of year when I’m a little less active in my day to day life. Having said that, I hope it does move off into some other directions for the next 10 days as it is getting a bit samey.

JasmineIndigo · 11/01/2024 23:26

I was kind of dreading today’s session and almost skipped it after reading the comments, but I loved it! Lots of lovely stretches :)

mynameiscalypso · 12/01/2024 07:54

Today's is pretty chill; I probably should have saved it for bedtime. I did find it a bit frustrating though as the vast majority of poses were ones that I struggle with, and not through a lack of flexibility per se but the limitations of my body (and dodgy knees). I spent a fair bit of time sitting on the floor and scrolling through my phone.

Tallowy · 12/01/2024 08:30

@mynameiscalypso I felt exactly the same today. My knees really can't take pigeon and I normally do my yoga first thing so like it to be a bit more energetic. I just started doing my own thing today to get a good stretch in. It really is a different 30 days this year to all the previous.

I love these threads and thanks to you all have been inspired to practice religiously every day. It's a lovely way to start the day and I look forward to reading your comments, nodding and agreeing along the way. After all this time lurking I felt it was time I contributed.

On a more shallow note has anyone else felt that Adriene's outfits have been so drab this time? I love her videos and it used to be easy to remember my favourite sessions because I recognised her leggings combo but this time they are all very similar.

Menopants · 12/01/2024 09:27

I loved today. I have zero flexibility in my back so when she says lean forward in cobblers pose I just sort of imperceptibly quiver.

i love pigeon, it’s so intense. A good alternative is to do it on your back with one ankle crossed over the opposite knee iykwim

Trickedbyadoughnut · 12/01/2024 09:46

I enjoyed Day 10 last night, although I had to suffer the ignominy of the dog coming to sniff my bottom when I was in happy baby 🙄Bet Adrienne doesn't have to put up with that from Benji!!!

Hopefully a stretchy one will be just right for me today after I do a tempo run at lunchtime.

afaloren · 12/01/2024 10:08

I loved today! Some of my favourite poses and it was a nice break from all the vinyasas. It was a bit short but I did step class last night and my legs were thankful for the stretch.

@Trickedbyadoughnut thats so funny. Today I had a cat leaping for the strings on my top!

artforartssakemoneyforgodssake · 12/01/2024 10:54

I liked today though. I find pigeon so hard - anyone know what’s better? I can either get my back leg face down but my bum isn’t too close to the floor, or I keep my back leg turned out and then my bum is on the floor. This probably makes no sense but if anyone has any ideas let me know!
