Hi everyone. This is the new thread for yoga with Adrienne devotees trying to do a daily practice based on Center ( or Move, or Home, or True…). A friendly thread to hang out and boost each other.

Morning all. Back again with Day 25 Amor. From the title I expected it to be cuddly and gentle but I was wrong 😁. My video got stuck at the hydrant legs and I thought Adriene was letting us do our own thing so I kept going for ages before I realised. There were lots of weird and wonderful poses today which words could not explain so I kept pausing the video, looking at Adriene, resetting my body and starting again.

Have fun everyone.

Yogachick · 25/03/2023 17:49

@ScottishBeth 12 mins can pack a punch if the practice is right . Kudos on the DD to lunge, especially when it’s a speedy practice. Maybe I’ll try short ones. I know I’ll start missing yoga soon but the fresh air is doing me so much good right now

ScottishBeth · 25/03/2023 18:06

@Yogachick yeah, to be honest I normally don't even try since it was so difficult. Evidently I have to start trying though.

Going running and walking is lovely, especially coming out of winter. What about some of her yoga for runners practices? Could do them instead of your stretches. But don't feel bad if you have to take a break as well!

@OopNorfDahnSarf what a time for your video to freeze! Haha!

Sooverthemill · 26/03/2023 09:16

So today I did a full body stretch with Kassandra ( only 10 minutes) which was lovely but reminded me that a daily practice keeps me flexible! Both DD and I have a cold and very sore throat and both feel very under the weather. A little bit fed up always feeling unwell

Oh well done @Sooverthemill and @Yogachick just getting out there and doing something is self care on a huge scale.

Who said that yoga was WD40 for the body?

I find the biggest hassle is just getting the mat out.

Center day 26 legs and core stronger than the first time round.

ScottishBeth · 26/03/2023 11:05

@hoochycrone that's why I don't bother with a mat! Some may call it laziness - I consider it removing all barriers to doing yoga!

BestIsWest · 26/03/2023 13:36

Fell off the wagon too and now got a cough and cold but hopefully better by next month to start again.

Jumbojem · 26/03/2023 18:26

@ScottishBeth Centre Day 22 Align felt like a good post run one to me (although was doing it the day after running). Plenty of lunge and hamstring type stretches plus some warrior. Those are the type of stretches that feel good to me post running. Although I'm terrible at bothering to stretch post run and usually flop down with a coffee, which is why I need to keep up with yoga at other times!

Bought a new mat today, not a fancy life form but a Decathlon own brand one. Looking forward to trying it out tomorrow as my old one was too thin and kept moving about.

Yogachick · 26/03/2023 20:17

@ScottishBeth as recommended did the 20 min Yoga for Runners this evening. Boy,did that get right into the muscles, especially in my hips/butt. Well worth doing even tho I’m knackered after a busy day and I already stretched after this mornings run!

Weepingwillows12 · 27/03/2023 19:24

Had a few days off last week due to a combo of battling a cough and cold and a work trip away so limited time. Back on it the last few days.

Sooverthemill · 27/03/2023 21:15

That sounds grim. I now have a sore throat and no voice! Did a stretchy one today

Sooverthemill · 28/03/2023 08:55

10 minutes of Kassandra today. Better then nothing

OP posts:
ScottishBeth · 28/03/2023 18:49

@Yogachick I love that one! 18 minutes is a nice length for after a run as well (maybe when I'm back at work and little one has dropped her naps I might need to rethink that).

@Sooverthemill hope you feel better! If you're not feel well that 10 minutes might be the perfect amount. It's not good to force your body to do really difficult stuff if you're ill.

I had a forearm tattoo yesterday, so have been taking it easy. Did one of the hands free practices yesterday - it had lots of triangle in it. Today I did Yoga for Brain Power or something. It was a 10 minute standing practice and it was perfect for me. Some tree pose, and a funny thing to sort of get yourself out of your head which was just what I needed. Some stuff I've been worried about came up during the practice and since then I've chatted it through with my wife and also reflected on it a bit and am feeling better. So that's good.

notanicepersonapparently · 28/03/2023 19:06

Center day 28 today with warriors and eagle arms (does anyone know what they are for?). Yesterday I did Center day 27 yesterday. The latter consists of stretches held for longer. I mention it only because it might suit anyone like sooverthemill who needs something gentle.

happytobemrsg · 28/03/2023 22:10

Back on the mat today after losing my way this month. I have so much going on, in all different parts of my life & I’m been finding it all overwhelming. I stopped doing yoga even though it has been such a positive change. I know now that the only way to consistently practice yoga is to commit to daily practice.

Glad to be back though I must be a glutton for punishment as I started with Centre day 1. Felt strong in DwD but my balance was a bit off.

happytobemrsg · 28/03/2023 22:11

Not Center! I mean Move day 1. You can tell it’s been a while… 😏

OopNorfDahnSarf · 28/03/2023 22:37

Center Day 28. Enjoyed it at the time but I must have twisted or trapped something because my shoulder/spine/neck has been annoying me all day.

OopNorfDahnSarf · 29/03/2023 11:04

Center Day 29. Lots of forward fold but also warrior 2 and other poses. My body sorted itself out overnight. Thank goodness. I will repeat one of my favourite days or catch up on ones I have missed for the next 2 days.

What is everyone planning for April?

Jumbojem · 29/03/2023 18:43

Hello, Centre Day 27 for me today, after a day of travelling and presenting slides at a work event. Was exactly what was needed, gentle stretches with a bit of effort for the legs in warrior.
Hoping to get Days 28 and 29 done in the next two days which neatly brings me to the end (ignoring day 30) ready for 1 April on Saturday.
@OopNorfDahnSarf I'm going to do one of her earlier series. Maybe the OG one, or Home and Truth were both recommended in here. I will peruse them Friday and see what inspires me.

Sooverthemill · 29/03/2023 19:48

We think we have covid, DS and his GF have it and they were here on Friday. Testing negative moment but last time it took ages to get a positive

OP posts:
Buttalapasta · 29/03/2023 20:26

Day 29 of Move today. I think I might do Home in April but also up for a change - Kassandra?? Hope you feel better soon @Sooverthemill

hoochycrone · 30/03/2023 10:28

Oh @Sooverthemill look after yourself 💐

So good to read everyone's comments.

Did Adriene's movement medicine energy today. Seemed to be mainly dfd and forward fold with a few side planks thrown in. Nice and short though.

Bit flummoxed about what to do next. Home? I like the 30 day ones. She's done loads though, hasn't she? What a sweetie.

hoochycrone · 30/03/2023 10:29

Might give Kassandra a whirl tomorrow ☺️

Yogachick · 31/03/2023 06:30

Back to the mat, thank goodness. Last night I did Bone Health practice, the pain and crunchiness that has been escalating just fell away. I had a great nights sleep(so rare) but that might be because I’ve turned the radiator in the bedroom right down and reset the heating thermostat lower than husband likes it😊 Day 1 of Nourish-Respect. Magical, different,it’s just bliss to be back, why do I stop?@Sooverthemill do take care of yourself, you’ve had a rubbish time of late❤️

hoochycrone · 31/03/2023 09:49

Glad you're better @Yogachick 🌷
Day one of a Kassandra 🤔
Still no clue as to what to do. Will plump for Home but there seem to be some lovely 30 day things available. Hmmm
