CENTER 3: getting ourselves on the mat one day at a time in March

Hi everyone. This is the new thread for yoga with Adrienne devotees trying to do a daily practice based on Center ( or Move, or Home, or True…). A friendly thread to hang out and boost each other.

I think Move is slightly faster paced, a few minutes longer and maybe slightly more repetitions of a certain move eg knee to nose. Center holds some poses for longer. The level of difficulty in the poses is about the same in my opinion and they are mostly the same ones in both series.
It’s only my second run through Center and I’m only on day 10, and so far it’s not as ‘easy’ as I remember it being from the first time.

My osteopath should receive a sainthood or a knighthood! She gave me acupuncture ( my first time though watched it lots for DD) and that seems to have helped. Advice is to lay off most obvious poses ( nothing that leans on shoulder) but sun salutations and dangling allowed

Hey everyone. Just checking in to say I am still going just haven't posted in a while. I started February doing centre but it drifted a bit to whatever I found that looked interesting but I don't think they flowed as well as when you do the January ones as I have more excuses for picking the short or easy ones or switching part way so have decided to do centre properly in March then may switch to another January series in April. Maybe dedicate.

hoochycrone · 11/03/2023 09:36

Yeay day 11 center ☺️

OopNorfDahnSarf · 11/03/2023 10:35

Center Day 11 Rinse. This was lovely and stretchy. I adored it. Feeling invigorated and ready to face the day.

OopNorfDahnSarf · 11/03/2023 10:46

And it's a year since I discovered this thread and the YWA videos so I am going to say Happy Anniversary to me and thanks to @Sooverthemill and everyone else.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 11/03/2023 15:18

<<slinks back on to thread>>. despite doing all of January with you, and my good intentions for February I didn't manage to keep going. This week's foul weather prevented me running, so I have re-started YWA and hope to be better at practicing daily this month.

I loved this one too.

hoochycrone · 12/03/2023 09:25

Lovely day 12 center.
Yeay, go us!
We have busy lives, anything is better than nothing. It's there for us when we need it.

I'm way behind, haven't checked in for a while, maybe even a week. Just did days 6 and 7 of Move, feel better for actually making it to the mat. Might do day 8 before bed to make me feel peaceful.

Sooverthemill · 12/03/2023 12:04

Just gentle neck and shoulder work for me today. Miss my proper practice!

Day 12 Center. Slow. Used lots of muscles. Didn't enjoy it

Day 12 didn’t do it for me either.

Shinyandnew2022 · 12/03/2023 21:45

Hello everyone just checking in great to hear everyone's experiences.
@Sooverthemill you are the inspiration to keep going!
It's great to see I am not the only one who is sticking with it but not daily.
I am all over the place routine wise at the moment due to some work pressures but I am still doing some yoga most days .
I feel so much better when I do it.
Today was a short Kassandra session -
My first one but I enjoyed it.

Sooverthemill · 13/03/2023 08:50

Another short shoulder/neck season x

Center Day 13. I liked it. I can see an improvement since last month. Today the elevator lunges were more controlled and my standing leg was not shaking uncontrollably in the Warrior 3 section.

Cheers everyone

hoochycrone · 13/03/2023 12:15

Day 13 center. Wobbly on the lunges, but it was good ☺️

notanicepersonapparently · 13/03/2023 17:34

I do like a one leg balance cos I can do them. Low lunges though - wobbly as. Still day 13 Center was an enjoyable one for me.

BestIsWest · 13/03/2023 18:37

Been off thr mat for a week but back on it with Day 13 Center.

Shinyandnew2022 · 13/03/2023 20:58

I did day 13 Center today too - I don't remember it at all from January - was very off balance so that ruined quite a chunk of it for me!

CeeCeeDeeBee · 13/03/2023 21:15

Managed day 8 of Move this evening. I find meditation so hard, end up just getting lost in my own thoughts!

hoochycrone · 14/03/2023 08:46

Oh, yes, meditation 🙄 I did headspace for a year and that really helped me.
Day 14 center stretches ooo!

OopNorfDahnSarf · 14/03/2023 08:59

Day 14 Center Stretches. Not for me.

Yogachick · 14/03/2023 11:50

I use Calm for 10 minute meditation most days. Sometimes good sometimes not so good -as with all these things. Sometimes really hits a nerve for me and things change just a bit through having sat with it.

ScottishBeth · 14/03/2023 12:40

I meditate occasionally. I used to do it a lot, yoga has sort of replaced that. But I did 10 minutes this morning and my mind was absolutely racing! I was thinking about my MIL, and a weird dream I'd had, and writing this post! It's not always like that though.

I haven't posted on here much recently. But have kept up with daily yoga. I've just got 2 days of Move left to do. Today I'm going to do a post run yoga then Move day 29 tomorrow. Once I've done day 30 I'll continue to do yoga daily but will just pick random practices (trying to avoid just doing easy ones) so I can join you all in April.
