Yay! It's day 0 and the video is up ( at 6.03 for me). Let's do this! What a lovely gentle way to start. See you all tomorrow when we actually do a little bit of yoga.

@Sooverthemill thats a lovely mat! I've been admiring Adriene's two-tone mat with the line down the middle which really appeals to my sense of symmetry.

My philosophy with yoga mats is to always buy the most expensive and highest quality mat you can afford. My current one has lasted me for many years and still looks as pristine as the day I bought it. It's one of those sticky ones, with little ridges and dimples in, bright purple and just such a pleasure to use, especially as I'm on it for at least an hour every day.

Ive been doing the sessions all week, but unfortunately ran out of time to post yesterday and Monday. I like the plank posture then rolling to the right and left, it's a great foot massage. I found myself travelling down and down the mat the more rolls I did which was 😄

Sooverthemill · 25/01/2023 14:02

Thank you both! My old one was a liforme too and I reckon used 340 days a year on average for almost 5 years

Really enjoyed Day 23.

@Sooverthemill that's a lovely mat! Didn't know they did that colour. I had a pink Liforme for a long time, it had little kitty scratches from when my cats were little and played on it. But it went missing from a Triyoga changing room. Got my boyfriend and me a new one each recently when I got a special offer from them.

Weepingwillows12 · 25/01/2023 18:57

What is a camel? That one where you bend backwards and touch your ankles? I was inches off being able to reach my ankles that but never tried it before so might try again on that.

VerbenaView · 25/01/2023 19:50

Day 23, I was nowhere near in camel pose, my back is rather rigid, it'll be interesting to see how I progress over the year.

SunUpSunDown · 25/01/2023 20:21

I made it to the mat today after a long day working in London, so I'm pleased with myself for that!

Camel pose was interesting. I've done it before plenty of times in a yoga class, but I've never engaged my abs like that. They were shaking beyond! I also found myself feeling bizarrely emotional.

@Sooverthemill enjoy your new mat! Such a fab colour. I've had Lifeforme for my last two mats, and I love them. I like the "grippiness" and the way I can feel the ground through it. It makes balancing a lot easier!

Chimna · 25/01/2023 20:44

Day 23 done. Annoyingly I had cramp throughout, which was very distracting.

Chimna · 25/01/2023 20:44

*Cramp in my toes

Jumbojem · 25/01/2023 22:31

I didn't know this was called camel pose but I enjoyed the challenge. It felt a bit different to the usual YWA poses. I could only get the the hands on back stage without my neck starting to strain but it's one I'd like to come back to and hope to improve on.
It's hard to believe there's only a week left now!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 25/01/2023 23:47

Day 24 done. I enjoyed it, although my quads were stiff after a run earlier today so I struggled with camel. I liked all the other stretches. Another one I will come back to.

Fandangles · 26/01/2023 06:56

Just done today’s (amor). Didn’t sleep as well last night so during the body scan, my mind wouldn’t settle much! Nice stretchy practice today which I enjoyed. I quite like the moves where you have to really think about what you’re doing - I find it keeps me more present.

I can’t believe I’m actually still doing it! Usually stop around day 10!

SunUpSunDown · 26/01/2023 07:54

Done today's and I enjoyed it, though I woke up really sniffy. Trying to relax isn't particularly easy when my nose is both stuffy and running at the same time!

CeeCeeDeeBee · 26/01/2023 07:57

Did day 21 and 22 back to back yesterday and enjoyed the slightly longer session (43 minutes). My side planks were a bit less wobbly and sweary than earlier in the month, too!

Going to make time to do 23 and 24 today, hopefully.

Sooverthemill · 26/01/2023 08:51

Well ‘amor’ was rather fabulous wasn’t it? Had a rubbish night and really didn’t feel like doing it today but dragged self into the mat. And it was great. Apart from the one where I had to lie on my left boob and make my right leg cross my left leg! That felt nigh on impossible. But pigeon! Yay always a lovely pose for me

Did day 24 last night before bed, was tired after being on my feet all day at work but i did it. Even managed the camel pose which ive never done before. My back did click though.

My legs and shoulders are really achey and lower abs, feel like ive been run over. Anyone else feel like this ? Is it normal ? Im new really to yofa, have done pilates before

Ladyofthelake53 · 26/01/2023 09:14

Yoga obvs

Jumbojem · 26/01/2023 09:14

Another one I loved! I have enjoyed every one this week, and before I was a bit so so about Centre but really enjoying it now.

@Sooverthemill you might have influenced me to look at getting a new yoga mat, yours is beautiful.

Also, I really liked Adrienne's loose top yesterday but I'm always unable to find the items of hers I like on the Adidas website. Guess some of them might be only in the USA or she's had them a while.

hoochyhag · 26/01/2023 09:34

Day 25
Lovely!

Sooverthemill · 26/01/2023 09:44

@Jumbojem some years ago (2018?) she was an 'adidas woman' and got sponsored to do some lives and Pat stuff. Her wardrobe started to contain a ton of adidas!

If I get out of a regular yoga practice, I definitely ache when I start doing it daily. I'm convinced it's something about the mindfulness of it that makes me more actively engage muscles than I would do even with a gym workout. Hope it passes soon!

CeeCeeDeeBee · 26/01/2023 12:40

Day 23 and 24 done, back to back again. Enjoyed both, and found Camel achievable, mainly because I'm hyper mobile!

Rummikub · 26/01/2023 13:52

Day 25 after skipping a few days. I cheered when she said my favourite words “let’s start on our backs”
I couldn’t understand some of the stretches! And I was still out of breath by the end.

Gufo · 26/01/2023 14:00

Day 25 done (22, 23 and 24 to catch up on!) - I didn't love this one and found it a bit dull. Definite monkey mind in action though which may be why. Pigeon at the end was good.

Ladyofthelake53 · 26/01/2023 17:02

Thankssunupsundown

Felt better this afternoon, i need a good stretch session i think !

Coraline353 · 26/01/2023 19:46

Enjoyed day 25 - Amor. Live a but if pigeon pose!!
