Yay! It's day 0 and the video is up ( at 6.03 for me). Let's do this! What a lovely gentle way to start. See you all tomorrow when we actually do a little bit of yoga.

Day 23

A good workout.

My planks are better.
Yes, side spits were hilarious Shock Nothing like Adriene's.

It may be my imagination but my thighs are stronger, not so much change on the jelly belly Blush
But this is a brilliant place to reflect Smile

CeeCeeDeeBee · 24/01/2023 11:02

Hi yoga friends!

I haven't been able to do yoga since I rushed through day 19 on Friday morning. Am home again now but have a revolting cold 😩 Will try day 20 later (sounds gentle?) and see how I get on. I was going to back to back them, at least a couple a day, to be back on track by the weekend... but not sure how possible that will be.

Gufo · 24/01/2023 11:58

@CeeCeeDeeBee yes Day 20 is gentle.

I've just done Day 21 as a bit behind - either kill or cure for my shoulder, but I liked the core/abs focus as I'm quite weak and need it!

AlisonDonut · 24/01/2023 12:05

I had to miss 2 days last week and then at the weekend but am just doing that day's now rather than try to do them all to catch up.

I also had to stop halfway through as my knee went. Getting old and the cold do not mix!

Fandangles · 24/01/2023 14:24

Really enjoyed todays! Along with feeling my core strengthen, I’m definitely walking taller.

InvisibleDragon · 24/01/2023 15:45

Phew, back in at day 15 after missing a week due to travel and then illness. Tried it during the day with my baby watching / playing on the mat and it went surprisingly well.

Sorry I haven't had time to catch up with the thread, but knowing it is here with everyone's updates gave me the motivation to dip back in after a week out!

Coraline353 · 24/01/2023 16:31

Did Soar this morning (day 23). Nice one. Not long but plenty to work on!

BestIsWest · 24/01/2023 17:10

23 done. Just about managed a standing split on one side. Left leg stronger than right.

froginawell · 24/01/2023 17:51

Another one by candle light!

I am stronger than on Jan 1st! But wish my ankles were less wobbly...

SunUpSunDown · 24/01/2023 18:14

Well, I caught up today after having got a bit behind. Halfway through, I started to feel a bit 'meh' about this series, and then over the next few days, it dawned on me that actually, this was exactly what I need on several different levels. I haven't noticed huge physical changes yet, but my core is very definitely feeling the slower more mindful approach!

Buttalapasta · 24/01/2023 19:49

I really wasn't feeling it today but am glad I made it to the mat. I feel that if I skip a day I might end up skipping a week...

Shinyandnew2022 · 24/01/2023 21:22

Ahhh I loved day 23 - only thing I didn't love was the balancing / quad stretch but I rarely enjoy balancing as I am very wobbly .

@happytobemrsg thanks for the suggestion I would indeed love to keep a diary but I am generally too chaotic to find a time to stick to doing anything like that ! The thread is ideal as I love reading everyone's comments.

CeeCeeDeeBee · 24/01/2023 21:37

I managed day 20, hoping to do 21 and 22 tomorrow to catch up a bit.

happytobemrsg · 24/01/2023 22:13

Found it hard to switch off today but a practice I should have enjoyed so it’s one to go back to

VerbenaView · 24/01/2023 22:25

Wasn't really looking forward to today, but it was nice and went super quickly.

happytobemrsg · 24/01/2023 22:40

Weirdly, after I’ve done yoga I’ve noticed I’m breathing much more deeply. It’s like all day I’ve been holding my breath & then I breathe properly at practice & the rest of the evening. I think I’d get more mental benefits if I practiced in the morning as it would set me up for the day (rather just sit me up to go to sleep!) but I just know I wouldn’t keep it up. I’m not a morning person at all.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 24/01/2023 22:42

Day 23 done. I left it a bit late and got a horrible cramp in my left calf halfway through but I did it. Quite nice to be flowing again.

Im not a morning person at all and prefer to practise when I get up. Even if I’m half asleep. It really wakes me up and sets me up for the day.
Apart from a work day when it’s a bit too busy.

Weepingwillows12 · 25/01/2023 06:38

Been really really busy so haven't posted the last few days but just to say I am still doing the yoga. It's definitely been harder to switch off the last few and have not enjoyed the side planks or horizon things at all but liking the rest. Only a week left! (Until we do another one!)

EmmaStone · 25/01/2023 06:49

Day 22 and 23 done yesterday, found the knee twist things a bit awkward in day 22, didn't really understand what they were achieving (presumably something abs-y, but felt more likely to lead to injury if overdone). One thing I'm realising (slow to the party) is you only really have to do any move once a day (or once per side), whereas in my normal yoga class, we build up and can do a sequence a few times before then adding to that sequence (but it's also an hour's class, so more time!). So if there's something I don't like in Adriene's session, at least I'll only have to do it once before we move on to the next pose!

Sooverthemill · 25/01/2023 08:40

Look at my fancy new yoga mat! I kept looking at liforme and thinking it's too much money and then they sent me 20% off! And omg it's an improvement

day 24 done ( how can it be that already?). It was perfect and always just what I need. I doubt camel will ever come easily to me but great low to the ground based practice to try

Ooh lovely new mat @Sooverthemill!! That's the same as my normal yoga teacher.

Day 24 also done, not a fan of camels generally, they make my heart race! But she started them quite gently, so not too bad.

Sooverthemill · 25/01/2023 09:35

It’s the same as my old mat that has reached the end of its life but a different colour. I will cut out a piece from that to make a knee pad I think. These are great mats ( heavy though) but pricey

AlisonDonut · 25/01/2023 09:48

Day 23 done last night, won't do 24 as I've got in person yoga tonight.

I can't do the side knee stretch ones at all, my old kness cannot cope. I do try every time though.

hoochyhag · 25/01/2023 09:59

Day 24

Gorgeous mat @Sooverthemill mine is now so battered.

Was that a camel 😯?
Couldn't hold it for more than a few seconds. But it felt good.

Yes, agree that slowly, gently and incrementally I am getting better.
Moving more fluidly in everyday life.

Was about to do a practising of plank/lunge after. But am wary of doing too much.

Love this lovely supportive thread.
