So in 2022 a bunch of us did MOVE every day and then carried on for j think about 7 months and then we petered out a bit but most still have some kind of daily practice. Please join us starting 1 January!

SIGN UP: here

Designed for whole body mental health, this 30 Day Journey is yoga for the here and now. This series is suitable for all levels, and offers modifications and enhancements for individuals far and wide to practice in a way that invites transformation, healing, and strength from the inside out.

CENTER focuses on whole-body strengthening with core-centered practices. It is breath led and crafted like a good book. One practice or page, prepares you for the next.

Expect to learn new things, go deeper in your practice, discover how to absorb your own self-care, befriend Benji the dog, and practice yoga, meditation, breath work, self-massage, affirmation, sweat, stillness, and laughter.

I cannot wait! MOVE got me through this bloody hard year and the companionship of all you guys made such a difference. Please join me
January!

Yay! Can't wait for this to start. I've just watched the video and signed up.

BestIsWest · 04/12/2022 10:48

Ooh exciting! I will be here. Move has made such a difference to me.

Rummikub · 04/12/2022 11:36

Hello!
signed up too
Thank you for new thread and great opening post!

The new location does look incredible and slick.

Shinyandnew2022 · 04/12/2022 15:45

Yippee! I am so excited I have signed up and will watch the trailer later ! Cannot wait for this. Thanks for the add @Sooverthemill

Jumbojem · 05/12/2022 20:30

Hello! Count me in too. Really excited for this, but also worried about the specific mention of core there (but is what I really need!).
I joined you last Jan and felt so much better for daily yoga. I managed to carry on with semi daily yoga until early March but then the days got lighter and I started doing more outdoor exercise. The same will probably happen in 2023 if I'm honest. However, I should remember that yoga will help prevent running injuries and my mood was so much better when I did the daily practice which was amazing and something I didn't expect.
Will sign up now!

Sooverthemill · 07/12/2022 09:26

@Jumbojem usually she works the core throughout but just day 6 is a killer! I doubt that will change

Thanks for the new thread. See you all in January. I will miss Move I think. I’ve got so much out of doing daily yoga.

Rummikub · 11/12/2022 18:25

Oh I’ve been so rubbish this month! And I think I’ll miss Move too.

BestIsWest · 11/12/2022 19:24

I’ve been rubbish too. Started well with days 1-4 but nothing since. I’m hoping that Move won’t disappear so I can go back to that if I need to.

She keeps them all up. I've saved all her 30 days since the beginning on my YouTube. So you're safe!

I’m in too (she says with trepidation). I was searching for a hobby/activity which would be good for me mentally & thought I’d give this a go. I really need to take some time out for me. I’m an absolute beginner & anxious about committing to something daily but I’m going to try.

Thinking about trying the beginner videos between now & 1st Jan to ease me in 😂.

There’s no way I’ll be getting up early so I’ll be doing my practice before bed. I think it’ll be nice to break the habit of playing with my phone before bed.

Prestissimo · 12/12/2022 03:24

Thanks for the add @Sooverthemill , am looking forward to getting back on the wagon (again Hmm) of daily yoga.

ScottishBeth · 12/12/2022 07:11

Nice to see everyone!

@happytobemrsg so glad you're joining us. There will be things you find difficult but just do what you can, take breaks when you need. I have been doing yoga on and off for years and I still drop to my knees or child's pose for a break sometimes. I think this is perfect though to make some time for yourself. I don't think you have to, but if you want to do something before January have a look at her foundations of yoga series.

@ScottishBeth Thank you! I did try a class once but everyone was so advanced that I just didn’t feel comfortable at all. I’m not sleeping well so I’m hoping doing it before bed will help with that too

The only in person class I ever did was labelled beginner and was run by a very hippy man who would just call out 'eagle' or 'down dog' and not tell you how to get there. It was rubbish. I did a one to one once but the woman only wanted to teach the nostril breathing over and over and I was so bored I pretend Ed I'd had an urgent text

Hi! I've done Move 3 times now so I'm interested to see what Centre looks like in January.

UnaOfStormhold · 12/12/2022 20:31

Great idea @happytobemrsg. Others will have their own suggestions but I'd recommend her videos on down dog, cobra and warriors 1 and 2 to give you familiarity with some of the postures that crop up most often. Child pose, cat cow and mountain pose are also pretty common but reasonably straightforward to get into the right general shape. You could also try her foundations of flow video to give you a feel of flow. If in doubt, just breathe and pay attention to your body - yoga isn't about forcing difficult poses but moving mindfully with the breath.

Thatsasmashingblouseyouvegoton · 12/12/2022 20:46

Just subscribed for January today

Looking forward to it

Gufo · 12/12/2022 20:46

Thanks for the new thread - I'm in!

Rovinonmars · 12/12/2022 20:50

I'm in too! I'll be doing it in the evenings. Love the YWA January series'. I first started with Breath and was hooked. Did a daily practice for about 7 months straight. That has waned a bit over the last year so I'm hoping January will give me a kick up the bum

I’ve done in person class yoga a few times when I was a gym member. One teacher was great and would walk round and adjust your position if needed.

The other guy was a hippy and I remember him doing a head stand (against a wall) and everyone seamlessly following. I stopped going not long after!

Rummikub · 12/12/2022 21:24

I meant to add that’s why I like this so much. Turn up in what your wearing and she helps you make adjustments. No judgement. Just turn up. And this thread of course is a great motivator.
