So in 2022 a bunch of us did MOVE every day and then carried on for j think about 7 months and then we petered out a bit but most still have some kind of daily practice. Please join us starting 1 January!

SIGN UP: here

Designed for whole body mental health, this 30 Day Journey is yoga for the here and now. This series is suitable for all levels, and offers modifications and enhancements for individuals far and wide to practice in a way that invites transformation, healing, and strength from the inside out.

CENTER focuses on whole-body strengthening with core-centered practices. It is breath led and crafted like a good book. One practice or page, prepares you for the next.

Expect to learn new things, go deeper in your practice, discover how to absorb your own self-care, befriend Benji the dog, and practice yoga, meditation, breath work, self-massage, affirmation, sweat, stillness, and laughter.

I cannot wait! MOVE got me through this bloody hard year and the companionship of all you guys made such a difference. Please join me
January!

I'd like to join too please :) I did the Move series in Jan and followed the thread then, but just lurked!

ScottishBeth · 12/12/2022 21:37

@Rummikub yes, that's the best bit. I so often do the yoga in my pyjamas, or just take my trousers off from that day's outfit. So easy!

Rummikub · 12/12/2022 21:42

@ScottishBeth always in the t-shirt I’ve slept in too. Otherwise it’d be too many steps and Id get distracted.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 12/12/2022 21:50

I’m in too please! I used to do a lot of yoga and I loved it, I don’t know why I have stopped but I really want it back in my life. I’m running London marathon in April so I desperately need a stretching regime to go alongside to prevent injury

happytobemrsg · 13/12/2022 21:26

@UnaOfStormhold that’s a good idea!

I keep meaning to put those 10 minutes aside but it’s been an awful week at work so far (how is it only Tuesday?!).

Sooverthemill · 13/12/2022 21:27

So many newbies! Wonderful. I always do yoga in my PJs. If i didn't do it first thing I'd never do it!

I WISH I was a morning person. I can see how it would really set you up for the day

OopNorfDahnSarf · 13/12/2022 22:41

Hello everyone. Following and looking forward to trying out Centre.

Jumbojem · 14/12/2022 22:52

I'm really hoping it is 30 mins or under like Move. Made it so much easier, it was the first one I managed to see through for the 30 days. Tried some of the 30 days series in previous years but with work and kids finding 45 minutes or so was a challenge, and as far as I recall no advance warning of how long each session was going to be.
Those who do it in the morning, do you do a day behind? I seem to recall the daily video not coming out until mid morning as they were released on US time, or am I misremembering?

ScottishBeth · 15/12/2022 07:32

@Jumbojem I'm hoping the same. In the introduction email she said to allow 20-30 mins each day. It's a lot more achievable.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 15/12/2022 08:37

I think in previous years you get sent a calendar of the sessions that has the timings in if you subscribe to the daily email list?

Yes that's right.

@Jumbojem I can't remember about MOVE but usually she posts it so it comes like at 6am UK time which suits me fine ( rare to do it before 6.30 for me)

Subscribed! Excited about this and hoping it will motivate me to do a little each day (I'm not managing it at the moment!)

happytobemrsg · 16/12/2022 16:43

Was thinking about having a go at a beginner video tonight but AF has just arrive 2 days early. My motivation has all but disappeared 😂

daisychain01 · 16/12/2022 19:53

Thanks for starting this thread, @Sooverthemill its such an annual tradition now isn't it.

I'm definitely a PJ Yoga person, especially in January with the YWA challenge, as I prefer to do my practice in the evening. Mornings are too hectic for me, so the evening is the time I can relax and get into my practice.

Pre-COVID I never used to practice at home, it was always a group practice in the village hall or gym at work, but during lockdown I grew to love the peace and in the moment-ness of yoga in my living room. Now I happily jump on my mat every day at home, 45 mins or so depending what's going on.

Very much looking forward to joining everyone on here to talk about our 'Center' experiences.

Sooverthemill · 17/12/2022 08:59

@daisychain01 I've only really practised at home because going out is really hard for me ( I have a now adult daughter with several chronic illnesses that mean she's bedbound and cannot be left alone and alternative care here is not available). But I am a bit of an introvert so practising at home is perfect for me. I love the peace it gives me at the start of the day and when I miss it I really miss it! It grounds me I guess. I even do it when DD ( and therefor me) is in hospital, the nurses always find me a space

daisychain01 · 17/12/2022 09:33

I remember you mentioning your DD on previous threads @Sooverthemill [flower] - it's great you can carry your yoga mat with you to DDs appointments - have yoga, will travel 👍

I too find I miss yoga on the rare occasion I have to miss it. I'll even do 15 minutes rather than skip a day!

daisychain01 · 17/12/2022 09:34

happytobemrsg · 17/12/2022 10:14

I’d also like to get to that point - where yoga is so party of your life I’m you miss it when you can’t do it!

I got some positive health news yesterday & I admitted to my family how down I had been. So I’m feeling a little lighter now. DH has agreed to give yoga a try with me tonight. He never sits still & racks up thousands of steps whenever he has a phone call so it’ll be interesting if he can slow down & be intentional for 20 minutes. But I’m very grateful he’s going to give it a go with me.

happytobemrsg · 17/12/2022 16:41

Sorry for all the typos! I hope you know what I mean

daisychain01 · 17/12/2022 16:57

Best news in the world is getting good news about a health concern @happytobemrsg all the worry just melts away. Fab news and time for more self-care with yoga!

happytobemrsg · 17/12/2022 20:35

Well! DH & I have just done the 10 minute yoga vides. I really enjoyed it!! I feel loser & a bit calmer. Definitely not DH’s thing but I appreciate him giving it a go because he knows I need the support right now. I think I’ll do that one a couple more times then brave the 20 minute one 😬

happytobemrsg · 18/12/2022 17:27

I know this is a YWA thread, but what does everyone think of yoga with Kassandra?

Someaddedsugar · 18/12/2022 17:33

Would it be ok for me to join? I've not done YWA but have done other classes including Peleton and some in-person classes (a few great classes but some equally hideous experiences as PPs with very disengaged teachers who didn't seem to really care what you were doing as long as the majority were following along ok).

everydaysabeginning · 18/12/2022 17:47

Could I join please? I've done yoga for years mostly in classes but failed miserably this year to get motivated and completely gave up. Plus skint and can't afford them.
I've done some YWA videos before but I can't find anything referring to MOVE so could I have a link please? I'm assuming they're on YouTube or and I completely wrong? Thank you 🧘🏻‍♀️🙏
