@SunUpSunDown im so sorry to hear you've had bad news. I hope you are okay.
day 25 today and it was just what I needed. I am definitely feeling the effect of no yoga for 8 days and am looking forward to day one again and hopefully strengthening and improving again

OP posts:
Shannith · 25/04/2022 10:08

@SunUpSunDown sorry you've had horrible news but glad the yoga was what you needed (in lieu of wine, which probably would have made you feel worse)

I've gone back on myself to get back in line with you all so just did day 25 again.

She is a tease describing it as love. More like workout. But I can now do the horizon thing on both sides (possibly because it's the second time I've done it in a week) and it is all coming together 3 months in - even when I'm not on top form.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 25/04/2022 10:19

Hello All. Am here for some much needed motivation, camaraderie, kick up the back side.

I was doing so brilliantly and lost my way-tonnes of excuses-had a tummy bug, covid in the house, DC home from Uni etc etc

Well I feel rubbish-blood pressure up and have gained weight and am so cross with myself. I thought if I came back here I would make myself accountable or am I just procrastinating again

Going to move the table and roll out the mat... wish me luck!!!

guinnessguzzler · 25/04/2022 10:42

Sending love @SunUpSunDown

@mumsiedarlingrevolta I've been all over the place too and missed about a week I think. However I got back to the mat today with Day 25 and found it a manageable one to come back to. Really glad to be back to it and hoping now the schools are back it will be that much easier.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 25/04/2022 11:11

@guinnessguzzler thank you-I just did it and feel so much better for it. I'd rather be on the same day as every one else and Day 25 was perfect.

Now that I have done the first one getting back I feel like I've broken the resistance barrier and can slide back in the habit!

and sending love to @SunUpSunDown too!!

SunUpSunDown · 25/04/2022 11:43

Thanks so much for all the love and kind words everyone - it means a lot! 😊This is such a lovely thread to be on, and it's great how encouraging and motivating everyone is xx

Shannith · 25/04/2022 13:34

@mumsiedarlingrevolta well done for rolling the mat back out. The lovely thing about following move is that is mostly just 20 odd mins a day but cumulatively it makes a huge difference.

For example I've only just realised that when she says chin to chest my chin is actually on my chest.

God knows where it was before - just generally angled down a bit probably. That crept up on me - I didn't even realise I wasn't doing it properly. Probably only an inch more of movement but it's indicative of what the magic of daily practice is doing all over my body.

Those few bits more flexibility all over is a real game changer to my general well being and physical... what's the word I'm looking for...vim. We'll go with vim.

A general bounciness in life rather than my previous creaking and groaning

Shannith · 25/04/2022 13:47

And @guinnessguzzler I hear you! It's infinitely more relaxing to do my yoga without constant cries of mummy.

BestIsWest · 25/04/2022 18:09

25 done. Still no hope of pigeon to three legged dog though I can at least fathom how it could be done, in about a year.

Shinyandnew2022 · 25/04/2022 19:44

Hello all - I am still here ! Been having a nightmare and kept typing posts and then getting error messages saying I couldn't post .

Just done day 17- Snuggle -
Just what I needed as was super tired
Today after a very busy weekend .

OopNorfDahnSarf · 25/04/2022 20:58

Real life got in the way so no yoga today 🙁

Sooverthemill · 26/04/2022 08:45

Day 26. Had no memory of this at all! Pleasantly surprised I could do horizon. Am doing okay I think

Well done and you will get there - probably faster than a year.

Had a sort out my wonky hips physio appointment yesterday. Think I'm as fixed as I'm going to be so tested it out with 27 and it's definitely made a subtle difference. I'm more stable. Physically anyway Smile

BestIsWest · 26/04/2022 17:12

Good news about the hips. 27 is the toughest I think. Not looking forward to it tomorrow.

Rummikub · 26/04/2022 18:57

“A general bounciness in life rather than my previous creaking and groaning”

this is exactly it!

i did day 24 this morning - before work!!

guinnessguzzler · 26/04/2022 20:50

@Shannith It genuinely hadn't occured to me that chin to chest actually meant chin to chest ... I thought it just meant put your head down a bit😂I don't know why I had just never thought of it that way. It just shows how much interpretation can come in to it (especially if you're a bit of a numpty like me 😁).

Shannith · 26/04/2022 21:29

@guinnessguzzler no no me too - it absolutely never occurred to me that she meant literal chin on chest. If I'd tried I'd probably have cricked my neck/done myself a mischief.

A couple of days ago I was doing the video and I suddenly realise my chin was touching something!

Given that the last time I had a driving lesson (pre covid) the instructor asked me if I had restricted mobility as I couldn't turn round to see to reverse - that's quite an improvement. Clever Adrienne.

OopNorfDahnSarf · 26/04/2022 22:05

Days 25 and 26 today. Horizon not for me. Maybe next year?

Rummikub · 26/04/2022 22:13

I’m going to pay attention to chin to chest. I think I just put. My head. down a bit too!

Shinyandnew2022 · 26/04/2022 23:14

Day 18 done today - I can't believe this is my fourth round and I still barely remember what's coming!
Pigeon was a lovely surprise today and I feel all content and back on track .

@Shannith I love your chin to chest progress and the 'general bounciness' is such a lovely description of what magic yoga
Works !
I was disappointed to notice how quickly the feeling faded when I missed a
Few days so am really planning to keep on track now the DC are back at school!

BestIsWest · 27/04/2022 09:13

Chin to chest is easy! Well it is if you have multiple chins like me.

Sooverthemill · 27/04/2022 11:03

For got to post! I repeated day 26 today as it was so nice and 27 seemed a bit too full on

OP posts:
mumsiedarlingrevolta · 27/04/2022 11:58

@Sooverthemill I probably should have done the same-I did 27 and it was very full on for me since I have missed a few!!! and very much trying to get back on track.
My ddog also bought me a ball, 3 squeaky toys and a tuggy toy as I think she felt my breathing and groaning meant I needed a gift.
Laughing is good for you too but not helpful whilst holding a pose or concentrating!!

I am so so glad to be back and onwards and upwards!!

Shannith · 27/04/2022 13:54

@Shinyandnew2022 I noticed that too - that if I miss a few days the old woman within comes creeping back.

It's silly really because even when that happens I'm still miles ahead of where I was - but I notice it a lot more.

Still it's a great incentive for me to do something daily. Did 28 today with badly scratched the surface. I did her for equestrians one too as I was riding for the first time in a few weeks.

It used to absolutely kill me - I found it easy! Whatever mixture it was horse did not 1. Try to kill me (progress) and 2. Gave me some lovely work in an outline. On the right rein anyway. I've decided that post physio and yoga it's a her problem.

@OopNorfDahnSarf I couldn't do horizon the first few times - it will come. I mean I probably look like a half squashed spider when I do it but close enough.

@mumsiedarlingrevolta 27 is some going from a break - well done! @Sooverthemill probably has the right idea.

Anyone else keen randomly putting their chin to their chest to check it wasn't a fluke? Fine at home, possibly a bit weird in Costa.

Just me then Smile

Rummikub · 27/04/2022 13:56

I was reading the thread for inspiration and saw the recommendation for day 26 by @Sooverthemill
But I by accident did day 27!! I actually enjoyed it. Though can’t do horizon not three legged dog with my left but can with my right.. Sorta.

i ha e no excuse to not do morning yoga as I’m off till Tuesday. I’ve never done 6 days straight I don’t think- I’ve always had gaps.
