I missed two days for no good reason - must get back on the wagon!

rifling · 25/03/2022 11:20

For everyone whose struggling to do various bits - my experience as someone who struggled to all the bits is that with time and consistent practice you'll be amazed. For me it's never been quick but I get there in the end - even the bits where I'm convinced I'm just not built the correct way.
I couldn't step forward to lunge from downward dog on either side a month ago. I can now do the left leg. Maybe the right leg will get there too one day!

Yay - well done you - that's brilliant! and yes- the right one will get there! My left one is the tricky bugger but it's getting there.
Sooverthemill · 26/03/2022 09:03

So I did day 26 and only you people will share my joy in being able to do horizon! Not easy but possible. Just doing everything 'properly' as @Shannith says and asking the time to,listen to her voice. Very pleased with myself

Up to day 11 (I skipped day 8 as I am saving it up for days when I really feel too tired for anything bar the gentlest yoga).

rifling · 26/03/2022 10:18

Congratulations @Sooverthemill ! I did day 26 and still can't do horizon! Actually I found today the hardest so far - punishment for skipping a few days perhaps!

Shinyandnew2022 · 26/03/2022 10:44

Well done @Sooverthemill I was coming on to say third time around I can sort of do horizon - my arms were trembling a lot so I am not sure if that s a lack of strength or my technique!

I have kept up with my daily fix but not posted for a few days.
Am amazed it is so nearly the end of another 30 days.

I have a vain question for you all - my arms are definitely looking more toned and I was hoping the bingo wings would improve and let me wear sleeveless tops this summer but sadly they seem unchanged - anyone got any ideas for targeting them or can encourage me that the yoga will get to them if I persist ?

OopNorfDahnSarf · 26/03/2022 10:49

Day 14 today. Amazing how exhausting it is to crouch in a frog pose and move from side to side.

I can't lie down and stretch my arms to the floor above my head. Can anyone recommend an Adriene that targets that area?

Thanks

OopNorfDahnSarf · 26/03/2022 10:51

I am sure Shiny that continued yoga will work wonders. 14 days in and there is more definition around my elbows. I think the effect will creep up your arms the longer you persist. Smile

rifling · 26/03/2022 10:54

@shinyandnew2022 I do this video 2 or 3 times a week and I think it's helping with arms (even though it's for abs!)

guinnessguzzler · 26/03/2022 11:21

@Shinyandnew2022 I think with enough yoga you won't care about the bingo wings Grin That may be the theory but in practice it is nice toning up a bit!

I've completely failed to keep up the last few days, just been too busy but I have done some short bedtime sessions instead. Just going to pick up today with Day 26.

Shinyandnew2022 · 27/03/2022 09:38

Thanks all for the
Bingo wings support . They really annoy me as my arms used to be one of my best features, but you can't cheat the ageing.

@rifling that looks good I might have a go.

Otherwise I maybe just need to keep going and see what happens.

Day 27 was good but very hard.

OopNorfDahnSarf · 27/03/2022 09:58

Day 15. I'm halfway through

Sooverthemill · 27/03/2022 10:25

@Shinyandnew2022 for me, it's not so much bingo wings as a weird pleated effect when I dangle my arms! It's 100% ageing, something to do with collagen I believe.
Day 27 today and oh my god that was bloody tough. Deeply satisfying though I had totally forgotten what was in the session!

Oh this is a good idea! I’ll do that too.

Just did day 21 today
12 mins ?!! But bloody hell. And can see where’s there’s more room for challenging.

rifling · 27/03/2022 18:08

Day 27 today and oh my god that was bloody tough.
Agreed! I had to keep stopping to get through it!

guinnessguzzler · 27/03/2022 18:42

Had my best Day 27 so far, which is reassuring! I had also forgotten most of it although not the tick tocking knee to elbow bit!

BestIsWest · 27/03/2022 22:02

28 done - nice and easy after 27 yesterday.

guinnessguzzler · 27/03/2022 22:17

That's great, @Best, looking forward to it tomorrow now.

Sooverthemill · 28/03/2022 08:34

Day 28. Ahhh very nice. I can do the full leg extension easier than bent. Am I normal?
I realised today that my shoulder and hips are barely troubling me at all. That has to be this practice

Adriene has published her April calendar and I am tempted! I think I might abandon Move for a month and come back to it in May as I feel like mixing it up a bit, anyone else?

Sooverthemill · 28/03/2022 12:39

@rifling not me, too many long ones ( it’s too difficult finding more than 30 minutes) and I like the slow build up of move or the 30 day challenges. The monthly ones are too random! I’d be up for Move again or possibly a different 30 days.

OP posts:
BestIsWest · 28/03/2022 13:28

I’ll be doing Move again in April. I would like to try and do another one alongside but can’t commit to two a day every day.

Shinyandnew2022 · 28/03/2022 20:27

Day 29 in the books !
So pleased with myself. Not sure what to do about tomorrows - might pick one of the earlier ones to do.

I am going to repeat Move in April as I don't seem to remember what's coming but love it when I can tell I have improved .

DH took the 'hint' and got me cork blocks for Mother's Day so am curious to use those to help with some postures

Rummikub · 28/03/2022 20:57

Yes I find this too. And the incremental improvements is what is keeping me motivated. That and this thread.
I love reading about others experiences and the improvements they make - inspiring!
