Day 5 done. I seem to be timing it well at the moment. Day 5 was perfect for an after dinner evening practice. I normally do nothing but collapse after dinner so I'm quite proud of myself. I'll make sure tomorrow is before dinner as day 6 sounds a bit harder.

Goodness, that was intense. I struggled a lot there. The long multi-planks in the first half and then the many many boats both defeated me and I went for heavily modified versions of both. I definitely don't have the core strength for any significant kind of challenge there. I'm really glad I did it though. I'd love to come back to it at the end of the challenge and see if I have improvements.

(Also a rubbish commute today didn't exactly help my mindset)

Onwards and upwards!

Couldn’t do the boat up and downs without using my hands to grab my legs.
Felt kind of buzzy and euphoric at the end though 😁

Heck, Day 6! Shock Well I had to miss out some of the planks (the swinging side to side did for me) and bloomin' nora those boat dip things were impossible! I managed a few heavily modified ones (i.e. me flailing about, puffing) but she must have abs of steel to do all those.

Off for a lie down now...

Actually I was feeling a bit gutted that I couldn't do it all today so I've just repeated the plank sequence but interspersed them with extended child's pose / cat cows, rather than the cobras. I found it much easier - there was a little bit of recouperation time which allowed me to gather strength for the planks. There's no way I'm attempting the boats again though!

Now I really am going for a lie down!

I’m in too much pain from this sciatica to even attempt Day 6 Sad I’ve done some gentle stretches for Yoga for Sciatica instead so I’m still doing some yoga. I’m a bit gutted I’m not keeping up.

I managed the swaying planks today and probably about half of the boat poses but bloody hell that was a nightmare! Am sure I'll be sore tomorrow.

@Sooverthemill that mat article was great - I also have a cork mat, it was a bit of an extravagance and it's too heavy to carry anywhere but it's so comfy. Very intrigued by the round mat though, never seen one of those before! Loving the image of trying to do yoga with a kitten on you Grin

@sweetkitty sorry you're in pain, sciatica really is miserable. I hope you get some relief soon.

For anyone suffering with sciatica, Fitness Blender on YouTube has a really good ten minute series of stretches especially for sciatica. I can't link but do a search for fitness blender + sciatica. (Obviously don't consider me giving you medical advice or anything, just personal experience of what has helped)

Day 7 on Matt, no video, either problem my end or it hasn't been uploaded yet. This really puts me off my stride, I don't have time or energy to do it later so old video for me this morning..

@redoriest it is uploaded at 12 EST I think and at 6.11 am it was in my YouTube feed and my email with it arrived at 6.01. That's annoying for you. It really interrupts the flow doesn't it?

Red the video uploads at 6am UK time - I didn’t check my email this morning but it was in MySubscriptions on YouTube.

Can’t believe it’s day 7 - I struggled to focus a bit this morning which resulted in me losing my balance in the Dancers Pose so feel rather frustrated with myself!

I'm a little behind as started on the weekend. Did day 5 today and found it really easy but getting a bit worried about day 6 tomorrow after seeing the comments!

Just about to do day 7, boat poses yesterday were nearly impossible for me, hoping today is better.

@Notjust don't worry about it. It isn't that hard honestly but there is an intense part. I rested twice ( which is encouraged) and I know that day 7 and 8 will be less intense because that's how she does things. Day 8 of any of her 30 days are days I regularly do when I need a bit of gentle yoga!

I was too early, and while looking for another video to do Day 7 popped up so all done and dusted and now I know not to panic. I think I may just have hit the mat a few minutes early this morning. I get up at 5.50, spin for 20 mins then the yoga as long as all done by 6.30 I'm happy.

Anyone else's abs tender this morning?

Definitely tender abs here! But a sense of achievement too - once I've recovered I must give day 6 another go as it seems a remarkably efficient way to build up core strength. So don't be put off if you've not done it yet.

Looking forward to day 7 this evening now. While I liked doing lunchtime yoga I didn't sleep as well as I did after doing the practice just before bedtime.

Lovely practice this morning. Glad it was a little gentler, as I'm coughing up god knows what today. Delightful. I do love a balance pose as well. I'm not particularly good at them, but I'm quite unstable at times, and the more I practice the better that'll get hopefully.
