Very excited when the email came this morning! Is anyone else up for this?

Hope scan was okay red.

Hideous day in stressful job - this is why I am so big and unfit, I give into it usually and just feel ground down and exhausted. Proud of myself for doing day 5 rather than collapsing on the sofa. Cried loads when she was on about our minds. I'm not a crier at all usually. Crying, sweating and shaking wrists. Even the dog has stopped watching me. If it's this ugly now, lord knows how it will be when she ups the intensity.

Frenchfancy · 06/01/2020 17:51

Day 4 done. Quite pleased I'm out of sinc as it was perfect for after a first day back at work.

poorbuthappy · 06/01/2020 18:21

Thoroughly enjoyed that.
Actually enjoying this a lot more than I thought I would!

TabbyStar · 06/01/2020 18:40

Just I had shoulder impingement and yoga made it worse unfortunately, it went away when I stopped doing downward dogs and lowering to the ground. I can't do inversions including downward dogs now so it does make the sequences difficult. I sometimes manoeuvre myself to do a half downward dog with my arms on the bed, or just child's pose. But if it's all going to be forward fold / downward dog based I might give up and go back to what I usually do.

whitershadeofpale · 06/01/2020 18:57

Did my day 1 today. I’ve definitely got tight but really enjoyed getting back to it.

JustMyName · 06/01/2020 19:53

Tabby I'm not attempting the downward dog, I know my arm and shoulder won't support me, so I'm filling that time with shoulder rolls etc.

I did days 2 and 3 today, but due to being unable to do several positions I felt I'd done very little. I'm not sure I'll be able to keep up at the moment for this reason. Hopefully at some point in the future my shoulder will improve and I'll be able to get back into it fully. Feeling a little disappointed, but not surprised, as I knew it would be difficult.

Sooverthemill · 06/01/2020 20:05

@justmyname I have a history of shoulder injury ( including an op for frozen shoulder) and hip injuries because of lifting and moving my disabled DD. But yoga has improved it massively. Under the supervision of my osteopath who has given great advice about to to ensure I'm doing moves that won't worsen it. I'm sure you will get there!

sycamore54321 · 06/01/2020 20:25

Day 5 Soften - I was misled by the title and I found that one the toughest one yet. I'm not sure if it was because I was doing it after a full day of commute/work/supervise homework or whether it was actually harder than the others but I did struggle a bit. I was also distracted by my sleep-resistant children yelping down the stairs, which could be a factor too.

Anyway, really glad to have done it and I find the daily practice also motivates me to stick with my healthier eating resolutions too. I would very much like to lose the weight I've gained after a stressful second half of 2019 and I like the accountability element of this thread too.

Redcrayons · 06/01/2020 21:49

Day 5 done, I thought that was a little easier, though maybe because I'm more familiar with the movements.

UnaOfStormhold · 06/01/2020 22:32

I also definitely found today harder going due to having had a busy day back at work, commuting etc. So much more tension to let go of, really obvious in some of the stretches! I also had a lot more tenderness in my lower back (I have a tendency to overarch it - not so much on the mat but during the day) which I had to work around so no cobras for me today! I hadn't quite realised how much stress I was lugging around in my body, but feeling a bit looser now which is good.

sweetkitty · 06/01/2020 23:19

First day back at work and I was really sore today. My sciatica was bad. Adrienne does loads of downward dogs and planks in her videos usually which I find tough. Today even coming up from a forward fold hurt. I had to modify a lot.

woodwaj · 06/01/2020 23:19

Hi! Can I join in! Can anyone recommend a decent (plain!) Yoga mat I'm looking to upgrade my primark one that is a bit tatty as the cats scratch it and my ds uses it as track for cars as well!

mimiasovitch · 06/01/2020 23:26

@KinkyDoritowithsparkleson I've had the same in the past. From experience this really helps with the stress, and I hope you feel the benefit soon. I didn't keep it up last year which was really stupid, as the positive effects were marked.

noodlezoodle · 07/01/2020 01:38

I wasn't looking forward to today's, but it flew by. I didn't do the swaying planks as my back is still a bit grouchy so I did an extra long extended child's pose instead, which is always lovely. Hang in there everyone, Day 8 is just around the corner which is normally a lovely relaxing one!

If anyone is struggling but still wants to do one of her videos, I really like her , which is what I use when I want to do a little bit of something but am really not up for more energetic yoga.

@JustMyName if your shoulder will let you do lying down positions, her is also good (might be good for you too @sweetkitty if your sciatica is playing up?).

noodlezoodle · 07/01/2020 01:44

@woodwaj, I really like Gaiam mats. I've had a couple and am currently using their extra-long one because I'm tall and hate overhanging a 'normal' length mat, but they do nice thick mats that are quite grippy.

Redpriestandmozart · 07/01/2020 08:08

Day 6 and my abs are burning, I'm so unfit and overweight that today was a bit of a killer for me. I knew when I saw it was ignite that I'd be burning! Otherwise quite a nice flow.

Sooverthemill · 07/01/2020 08:38

Day 6. Ouch. Had to stop the swinging planks because of my shoulder. Did almost all though had two rest breaks so not so many of the boat poses as I should! I love this 30 days so far!

this is a review of best 10 yoga mats. I bought the liforme for myself as a birthday present last year as I'd been using a cheaply one for almost 5 years and felt I deserved a good one. It's fab. Bought the lululemon one for DD1 for her birthday! Not all are pricey

mimiasovitch · 07/01/2020 10:19

The boat pose movements were killer! Managed some at least. Last year my tailbone was in a bad place so I couldn't do the pose at all, so this is a definite improvement.

Sooverthemill · 07/01/2020 10:45

@mimiasovitch well done! Isn't it a good feeling? I was slightly hampered as kitten was sitting on my tummy whenever I lay down

Spudlet · 07/01/2020 11:22

Hello! Bit late to this but have been following along with Home. I was practicing daily up until August but then life got on top of me a bit, so it’s good to be getting back into it again.

Think I’m going to substitute day 6 for her video for period pain as I’ve just come on and don’t much feel like pushing it tonight. I’ll come back to the programme in a couple of days when I feel better, I think. That’s the beauty of home practice, you can make it your own. I skipped the last vinyasa yesterday as well because I just wasn’t feeling it 🤷‍♀️

Anyway, glad to have found you all 🧘‍♀️

JustMyName · 07/01/2020 11:58

@noodlezoodle Thanks for the tip, I'll try that one later.

sweetkitty · 07/01/2020 12:46

@noodlezoodle I’ve done her Yoga for sciatica video quite a few times and still do some of the stretches from it daily. I’m on my lunch break I’m going to come home early today (I’m a teacher) as I have loads of work to do this evening going to yoga/shower and eat then work as most of it I need my homework PC. I’m in a lot of pain today, ibuprofen and tramadol not working.

UnaOfStormhold · 07/01/2020 14:02

Owwwwwww!

UnaOfStormhold · 07/01/2020 14:13

Well that was a bit of a step up in intensity! In a good way but definitely going to be sore tomorrow! Hopefully stronger the day after though...

I'm out again this evening so managed to find a quiet corner of the office - lovely way to break up a working day so may try that again!

KinkyDoritowithsparkleson · 07/01/2020 17:37

Thanks mimi. I'm really hoping it helps.

I had to stop some of Day 6. No way could I do the lower and to the sides. I kind of hovered around at table top shins feeling a bit rubbish.
