Very excited when the email came this morning! Is anyone else up for this?

I add in a 10 minutes or so video if the 30 day ones feel too short ( usually the hip and core flow) but I don't have much time so it's the longer ones I struggle with which is why I didn't do dedicate as the 2 x 49 minute ones at the start were beyond me

mimiasovitch · 05/01/2020 12:06

Morning all. I'm feeling very proud as I went straight to the mat this morning before going out for the day. I enjoyed this morning a lot, but by god I can feel my core muscles! At least my hands and wrists are ok now.

Redcrayons · 05/01/2020 12:25

@museumum and me. I thought I was pretty fit from running but I'm aching glutes and hamstrings and abs a lot. I think that's good, stronger core is good for running.

Not done day 4 yet. Will try later.

AugustRose · 05/01/2020 13:03

Day 3 done for me, I hoped to fit in 3 and 4 but not to be - or maybe later.
Remembering why I love it so much, just that short time to myself and a lovely lie down at the end Grin

poorbuthappy · 05/01/2020 17:53

Day 4 - short but sweaty!!!

KinkyDoritowithsparkleson · 05/01/2020 19:00

Same here poor Grin.

First day in my own home and apparently my carpet is super skiddy so have now bought a mat.

JustMyName · 05/01/2020 19:23

Ooh I didn't know about this! I've just signed up. I need to get back into yoga, used to go to classes, but haven't been for a good few years. I've got a shoulder injury, so will be being careful, but looking forward to it.

MrsMigginsPie · 05/01/2020 19:42

I really enjoyed today and am really liking that they’re consistently 20-25min - makes me feel like it’ll still be achievable when work and school starts up!

sycamore54321 · 05/01/2020 21:01

What everybody else has said about day 4! Short and punchy, great that they are all a similar length which will definitely make fitting it in much easier. Tomorrow will be the real test, first day back at work and children in school. Really hope to keep it up.

Also finding my wrists are less sore - but there was much less floor work so that could be it too. Loving the feeling of my long-neglected core muscles wakening up a bit.

CaptainNelson · 05/01/2020 22:06

I'm enjoying it so far, but I only did Dedicate in December so have pretty much gone from one month to the next :) So I'm quite in practice. If she gets too chatty, I repeat a transition or something, but sometimes it's also quite good to hold a posture and think about all the muscles I should be using... not sore yet!

UnaOfStormhold · 05/01/2020 22:27

Nice practice, I do like a good warrior 2 to open up everything! And even for someone as wary of woo as I am, that was a really nice focus - I definitely found a few muscles that needed to do more to boost or counterbalance! I've been doing yoga on and off for a while and I really like the way she somehow makes the fundamentals feel fresh.

Tomorrow will be a tricky day for me too - a child to get back to school in the morning, at work all day, then bedtime and out in the evening - but I am always in need of a bit of a transition time to unwind between getting back home and going to bed and I think 25mins of yoga will fill that gap very nicely. Good luck to everyone else making that transition to work/termtime!

noodlezoodle · 06/01/2020 00:25

I enjoyed today's and even though I've done yoga on and off for years, I think this was the first time I've heard a teacher clearly explain to dip your back leg in high lunge if you need help finding your balance. I'm rubbish at that and found it made a massive difference.

JustMyName · 06/01/2020 00:34

I did the first one tonight as I've just signed up, but with my shoulder injury there was quite a lot I couldn't do, including downward dog. I can't stretch my left arm out fully, but I'm hoping some gentle exercise will help and I didn't do anything that hurt. I liked her manner though, so will continue. I'll probably always be a few days behind you all though as I don't want to overdo it.

whitershadeofpale · 06/01/2020 01:13

I’m starting tomorrow as I’ve been away. I love it last year and did continue for ages but have had few months of and overindulged over Christmas so I’m looking forward to getting back into it.

KittyMcKitty · 06/01/2020 07:12

Day 5 done - children back today but I’m not working until tomorrow. Up at 6 ready to go then TV would connect to internet so spent 20 minutes faffing sorting tgat out!

Anyway lovely practice with surprisingly strong but rewarding small warrior / high lunge flow.

Have a great Monday everyone.

Im starting tomorrow Whiter too!!! I dont like being out of sync but Ive decided thats better than not doing it. I mught put up a chart in my room so I can see what "day" it is and tick as I go along!

SquashedFlyBiscuit · 06/01/2020 07:33

Oh. Reading up if fit people are aching Im not sure Ill manage it. Oh well Ill try!

KittyMcKitty · 06/01/2020 07:36

Squashed don’t be put off - Adriene offers modifications for everything and we all have different things we find challenging - even after many years of practice there are many balances I fall over doing Smile

OP posts:
UnaOfStormhold · 06/01/2020 08:35

Definitely give it a try Squashed! The beauty of yoga is that you work at the level that is right for you. I'm sure the most toned yogi could work in a way to make them ache - and conversely the most untoned newbie could do a nice easy practice that doesn't make them ache at all.

Sooverthemill · 06/01/2020 09:16

@JustMyName I also have a shoulder and hip injury ( and checked with osteopath that it was okay to do this). I struggled with the swaying planks so just did childs pose instead. I am happy to just do an alternative if I cannot physically manage the pose she wants. I find that each day it's easier. And I do gentle stretches before bed ( do yoga when I wake up after a cup of tea before everyone else awake). I concentrate on hip and shoulder stretches at bedtime

poorbuthappy · 06/01/2020 09:20

I know you don't need to access through the email to get to the video so this doesn't really matter Hmm but I haven't received the email this morning?

UnaOfStormhold · 06/01/2020 09:33

I got mine poorbuthappy, could it have gone to spam? Sounds nice today, about finding ways to do less....

mimiasovitch · 06/01/2020 12:11

Was glad to get today's done. I found it hard as I have been blessed with another bloody cold. It does feel rewarding to push myself onto the mat and get it done. I did love the message about putting too much effort in all parts of your life. This rings very true for me. I really need to learn to leave work at the door when I come home.

JustMyName · 06/01/2020 13:09

Sooverthe I can't stretch my left arm out due to shoulder impingement which is making a lot of positions difficult, but I'll just do what I can. I'm seeing an osteopath next week so will ask for advice.

Redpriestandmozart · 06/01/2020 15:35

Day 5 done mega early this morning followed by an hour-long MRI scan, I imagined that it was a gong bath :) I found today just a little easier to do, I am liking the gentleness of this so far.
