Very excited when the email came this morning! Is anyone else up for this?

I did Day 30 today and it was the first time I've really enjoyed one of the 'freestyle' ones. The previous couple of years I've ended up peering at what she's doing and mostly following her, but today I todally did my own thing and really enjoyed it. The time flew by as well! Home has completely rekindled my love of having a daily practice and I'll be carrying on as much as I can.

@KittyMcKitty I'll be following along in February (mostly), I don't want to lose the habit.

parrotonmyshoulder · 02/02/2020 09:39

I just did Day 29 and will finish with Day 30 later on.
I have got much stronger already. I can do the straight legged poses like triangle and pyramid that I’ve never been able to do before. My twists are much deeper. I managed all the low boats today except one where I rested.

I also noticed the other night that when I’m moving around in bed, turning over and so on, I’m engaging bits of me rather than just throwing myself around.

Since I gave myself permission to shut the dog away for the duration of the practice, I’ve also found it mentally relaxing! Turns out he’s no Benji - wants to get too involved!

MooseyMoo · 02/02/2020 10:36

@KittyMcKitty Yes, I’m doing Feb Kiss. I loved yesterday’s and today’s sessions. Lovely and gentle stretches which is good for me as I’m a beginner.

I’ve loved taking part in Home and did every day. It was my first time doing this and will definitely be making yoga part of my daily routine.

I’ve found I’m more flexible (still can’t touch my toes though!) and can now hold downward dog and plank longer so my wrists have def strengthened. In today’s session she explained aboutputting even pressure on hands inc index and thumb which I haven’t been.

Sooverthemill · 02/02/2020 11:42

Done day 29!

KittyMcKitty · 02/02/2020 18:17

Well done Soover.

I did Day 2, Kiss today. I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather so was a little nervous of the 40 minutes but it was actually a lovely slow practice (bar those boats at the end).

So proud of all of us who have done/doing home (at whatever pace) Star

Well done @Sooverthemill, I have one final push tomorrow with the free style Day 30.

In general, Home as a really high quality series, Adriene's style of teaching has matured a lot. None of the irritating giggly stuff from last year, she just got straight into each day's instruction with minimum waffle, which led to much deeper focus and meditative benefits.

I must try the Calendar now Smile

As always, very sad it has come to an end for another January. Such a lovely daily routine!

wickedfairy · 02/02/2020 20:24

I really enjoyed Home and am carrying on with Kiss for February. Just had to do yesterday's and today's practice as I had a night off yesterday.

I think I'm getting a little more flexible, so I'm pleased with that. I think it may be calming me down as well - I've been quite an angry person for quite some time and I really need to get away from that. I think yoga helps.

UnaOfStormhold · 02/02/2020 21:18

Day 28 done, definitely still feeling a bit under the weather (though much better than last week) and had to go back twice because I realised I'd got something completely wrong, my brain feels stuffed with cotton wool! But I slept much better last night so it is doing me good.

Sooverthemill · 03/02/2020 08:49

I'm very much under the weather still ( when did colds start lasting 2 weeks?) so I just did 'slow your roll' rather than Home.

Are we going to continue this thread or start another? I've really enjoyed having everyone's support

UnaOfStormhold · 03/02/2020 20:38

Soover it does sound like we've got the same thing! I managed my first day back at work today, having been completely wiped out last week, and still felt really shattered despite being able to work from home and avoid the extra drain of the commute.

Anyway, have done day 29 (the boats at the end were a bit of a nasty surprise as I was all ready for thumbs to third eye namaste!) and now ready for an early night.

How is everyone finding KISS? I'd be happy to stick with this thread, it has been great to have the support and encouragement, but if most of you up sticks for a new thread then I'd be happy to tag along!

KittyMcKitty · 03/02/2020 22:17

I thought the first 2 days of Kiss were fab. Day 3 was ok - really slow and concentrating is n foundations S great for a beginner but I would have liked a bit more. Tomorrow is about hand placement etc so again great for beginners but I think I may do day 15 of home instead.

I’ve peeked at the FWFG flows - they look great - worth the monthly subscription.

I’m planning on following Kiss but maybe substituting some of the more foundation videos for something a bit more challenging/ bit more of a flow. What about anyone else?

Redpriestandmozart · 04/02/2020 08:21

I've done all of KISS so far, looking at the playlist on youtube and I see that I've done lots of them before which is good. Glad to keep going through February, I'm an all or nothing type person. I seem to be able to do yoga every day or not at all, I haven't been able to achieve the three times a week yoga plan yet!

UnaOfStormhold · 04/02/2020 09:07

Red I have found the same about daily practice or nothing. If it's not every day then it's too easy to say "oh, I'll make tomorrow the day" and never end up doing it! I'm torn between having a go with KISS and trying another thirty day challenge, maybe True. Right now though I need to take it fairly easy so don't want to take on too much!

Sooverthemill · 04/02/2020 09:14

I did a 10 minute practice today ( from later on in KISS) as I still feel rotten but wanted to keep it going. I have done YWA almost every day since September 2015 and I hate if if I miss a day! I had 6 weeks off last year because of an insane I was so miserable. So I'm keeping on and would love to keep going with all of you!

Sooverthemill · 05/02/2020 09:44

Did another short practice today ( had started a longer one then had a phone call!) how is everyone?

UnaOfStormhold · 05/02/2020 13:23

Still struggling a bit, just did some very gentle stretching last night. This cold has been a stinker!

KittyMcKitty · 05/02/2020 19:00

Hope everyone is feeling a bit better. I did Day 5 of Kiss today - bit of a struggle to motivate myself as just feel so tired at the moment but felt much better for doing it.

Like others have said I need to do yoga every day otherwise I just fizzle out with it.

Redpriestandmozart · 05/02/2020 19:51

I did tomorrow's today as in a bit of a rush this morning and it was shorter. However, I fell this afternoon and busted my ribs so I imagine yoga will be impossible for at least a week. Delighted to have made it through January as usually something happens so it looks like it's KISS that will be scuppered!

Sooverthemill · 06/02/2020 10:16

I did another short one today as I'm not well and had an early visitor booked. But I'm happy to be doing even 7 minutes. Makes me feel so much calmer

poorbuthappy · 06/02/2020 20:06

I went totally off piste and did her abdominal yoga for weight loss then a very short abs video.
I'm now enjoying simply scrolling through her back catalogue and choosing!

KittyMcKitty · 06/02/2020 20:17

I did the short abdominal wall video today.

Nosey question how do you watch your videos? We have YouTube on the tv which is great for the free videos but the FWFG I watch on laptop as I can’t chrome cast - I wish they would put them in a paid for section on YouTube.

OP posts:
Sooverthemill · 06/02/2020 20:35

I watch on smart tv. If I use FWFG at home I put iPad on a stand. I can't do screen mirroring as a TV too old. It's annoying isn't it?

UnaOfStormhold · 06/02/2020 22:03

Finally feeling a bit more myself, not quite cleared the cough yet but the feeling of being at the bottom of a deep well of tiredness has ebbed. And what better way to celebrate than finally managing to complete the 30 days of Home! I wasn't sure how I'd get on with the silent one but ended up with a mix of following along and going totally off piste, which was nice - threw in a few bonus pigeons which my hips were craving, plus a few neck stretches I needed too. (For a few days I've had a really sore neck so I, naturally, searched for one of Adriene's videos which was spot on - and I fitted in quite a few of those which has helped).

Still not quite sure what to do next - so much to choose from! I have been bookmarking pretty much every video on her site as a "ooh, must try that one". But I'd quite like to try True or one of the other challenges at some point - I'm travelling next week so, while I'll take my mat along, I don't know how much time or space I'll have for practicing.

I've been doing my videos on the laptop, keep meaning to plug it into the TV so I can have it in two places but it generally feels like too much hassle and cuts into practice time. And to be honest apart from the freestyle day I don't really watch much at all. I am quite tempted to get a FWFG membership as I'd like to give something back but I don't want to end up in the trap of paying for it and then giving up shortly afterwards (like a gym membership where paying for it somehow psychologically makes you feel you're achieving something!). I really do want to carry on with the yoga because it is doing me lots of good.

UnaOfStormhold · 06/02/2020 22:07

Ouch Red, hope your ribs are feeling much better soon!

Sooverthemill · 07/02/2020 14:50

@UnaOfStormhold glad you are beginning to feel better. Can I highly recommend TRUE? It's my favourite
