Very excited when the email came this morning! Is anyone else up for this?

So yesterday's practice was basically horizontal due to this nasty chest infection - managed a few stretches to try and ease my aching back but definitely feeling under the weather. I'll see how I'm feeling tonight.

sycamore54321 · 29/01/2020 21:05

Day 28 done also. I wasn't in a great headspace for it but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Can't believe it (and Brexit!) are almost done.

daisychain01 · 29/01/2020 21:56

I'm still lagging behind but I did Day 26 today and enjoyed it after a day grappling with emails and deadlines. A nice antidote.

Will try to do 2 tomorrow one of which is the relaxing one, Day 25 I think. Only a few more days...sad.

Sooverthemill · 30/01/2020 13:33

I did 'nourish' today totally out of sequence but I have Terrible sinus pain so needed a gentle one

Redpriestandmozart · 30/01/2020 13:48

Day 29 done, a slower start which I thought contained a lot of small silly filler stuff then I just got it, it really was intuition. But I seem to be fascinated with her blinds, continuity isn't always perfect as the height changes mid-video and no Benji today :( I think I get distracted too easily!

KittyMcKitty · 30/01/2020 21:15

Day 29 done. Enjoyed it but half moon is so hard! Feel quite emotional about day 30 tomorrow - the end of Home which I have loved plus I find the day 30 / no mic thing a challenge.

Hope everyone else is enjoying Home wherever they are at with it.

@kitty there's a short practice that focuses on it from about 14 minutes in

sycamore54321 · 30/01/2020 21:55

Day 29 done and really enjoyed. Much later than I usually might, after a later and heavier dinner than usual so I struggled but I did enjoy it.

From what I’ve picked up of day 30 on here, I’m not sure I’ll love that but trying to embrace the “open mind” she encouraged and maybe I’ll be surprised.

Redcrayons · 30/01/2020 22:24

I did 28 and 29 so I can finish on the right day. The standing on one leg thing was way too hard, I proper fell over off my right leg.
and my low boat was more sunken than low.

Looking forward to 30 tomorrow.

What’s next? I haven’t really got to grips with the breathing so need to work on that. And I have been zoning out a bit at the intro so probably need to focus on what she’s saying.

Sooverthemill · 31/01/2020 08:59

Catching up still from my sick days so haven't finished. But yay! We got here

mimiasovitch · 31/01/2020 11:15

Just done day 30!!! First time I've managed it so third time lucky holds true. Loved day 29 but not so much today. I can't place my mat in such a way to make it easy to see the screen from all angles, and I'm used to working from her voice cues. Still, all done and planning on following the February calendar.

Redpriestandmozart · 31/01/2020 11:24

Day 30 done, very mixed feelings about today, while I looked forward to the end of the month, I didn't really want it to end either. Like mimiasovitch I couldn't place my matt for full vision either, I too rely on her voice. Third time lucky for me too, almost afraid to commit in case it happened again!

Now looking forward to February :)

Sooverthemill · 31/01/2020 14:39

FWIW I never do the final day of any challenge ( after trying the first few) because I can only work from voice cue. I wish she did the voice over and then we could mute if we wanted. It's a waste of a day for me so I always do my favourite from the sessions instead

poorbuthappy · 31/01/2020 17:49

I am 10 mins in and I can't do it without voice cues. Gonna bail and start a new tomorrow.

NotJustACigar · 31/01/2020 21:33

I'm way behind everyone else as I just did day 22 today - still though I think doing yoga around 4-5 days a week is perfect for me. I'm loving it and feeling more toned, plus have less back pain. Revolution sounds great so I think that's next for me.

sycamore54321 · 31/01/2020 22:17

Surprised to find I loved day 30 and the no voice. I wouldn’t want to do that every day but despite the awkwardness of trying to see the screen etc it made me feel really good.

I’m so proud of myself for finishing the 30 days, and sticking exactly to the programme. Self discipline isn’t normally my thing! Huge thanks to this thread for keeping me on track.

MamehaSan · 31/01/2020 22:25

Wow, and so it's finished! I'm really, really chuffed to have kept up and made it through to the end. I honestly wasn't convinced about having no direction at first, but I stuck with it, even though I'm not sure my practice was quite as effective as it could have been (I kept glancing round to see what Adriene was doing, I wasn't quite in the Zone iykwim). But... when it finished I got a bit emotional! And now I've reflected, I think it was a good way to end. It was different. And I feel like I've made the journey and that was the destination, somehow. Had she given the voice cues I think it would have been just another practice; I can see why she did it that way now.

So... what did I get from the 30 days?

  • I'm definitely stronger! I can hold poses for longer and with more stability, and I can do things now that I couldn't before. I remember attempting those low boat things when they came round at the beginning (Day 8 or so?) and I couldn't get anywhere near them; when they came up a couple of days ago I pretty much kept up with Adriene, though it was not elegant to watch Grin
  • I've toned up a bit (my quads especially)
  • I'm a bit more bendy than I was before (though this is always something I'll struggle with, I think)
  • I can now get from downward dog to the front of the mat in two steps rather than lots of shuffles and grunts
  • My posture is better, a bit less rounded shoulder
  • The breathing practice is getting ingrained and I find myself doing it off the mat when I want to relax

What has everyone else got out of the programme?

I'm wondering what to do next; I need to keep doing something so I'm tempted to investigate her Total Body series and do that every other day (realistucally I'm not sure I can continue to commit to every day). I've done the Total Body Core video a few times already and enjoyed it so I'll probably have a go at the others.

Thank you to everyone on the thread who's given advice and has helped keep me going over the last month! I've been more of a lurker than a regular poster but it's really helped.

And now... Wine

noodlezoodle · 01/02/2020 02:56

I'm a bit behind because I've been travelling this week, so I did days 28 and 29 today to catch up a bit. Both were fine but I didn't love either. I am doing the 'freestyle' day 30 tomorrow and the one certainty is that I won't be doing any low boats Grin.

Sooverthemill · 01/02/2020 09:14

Still catching up because of illness so I did integrate today ( day 27?) out of order but because it was shorter. So good!

UnaOfStormhold · 01/02/2020 14:00

Hoping to get started again tonight now I'm feeling a bit healthier - need to go back to day 27. I've really been missing my daily yoga - both my back and my sleep are definitely a lot worse for it. So, while I've broken my streak, it does confirm that sticking to the practice was doing me good!

KittyMcKitty · 01/02/2020 21:38

I’ve just done day 1 of Kiss - Fill Your Cup - nearly didn’t do it as am feeling pretty achey with a cold but it was a lovely gentle 20 mins of stretching. Anyone else following Kiss?

OP posts:
Sooverthemill · 01/02/2020 21:43

Well done everyone who has finished! I won't follow Kiss yet but will carry on

UnaOfStormhold · 01/02/2020 21:59

Day 27 done, found the head down poses were pressing on the sinuses a bit but overall it feels good to be back on the mat again

mimiasovitch · 01/02/2020 23:23

@KittyMcKitty I did the Kiss one this morning and it was really lovely. I'm hoping it keep it up this month too.
