Very excited when the email came this morning! Is anyone else up for this?

Here you go @una

UnaOfStormhold · 25/01/2020 09:27

Thanks Soover - I knew there'd be one somewhere!

Sooverthemill · 25/01/2020 11:10

Feeling a bit better so did today's 16 minute session ( day 24) which was really good. It got me stretched and feeling better. I'm certain she said the wrong leg again at some point or maybe I misheard but anyway I didn't fall over!

Redpriestandmozart · 25/01/2020 17:05

Sooverthemill she did mix up legs, I noticed it too. Short sharp shock this morning, but all over quickly. Feeling really good about this month's challenge.

MamehaSan · 25/01/2020 20:50

Yep definitely some left and right confusion in the middle sequence! I got in a muddle so stopped the video and went back, got in the same mix up then realised what had happened Grin Today's was good, I'm finding that like the vinyasa flows a lot.

UnaOfStormhold · 25/01/2020 21:23

Yes, even having read there was a confusion of legs coming I was cheerfully bringing my left leg through thinking "that's odd, she normally does right leg first" before realising what was going on as I stood up. I just about managed to keep going mirrored but then of course was out of step on the other side too. Heigh ho, still a nice little practice that squeezed more into 16 minutes than seems possible!

I've realised that chaturanga is Sanskrit for what I think of as low plank and what I was more or less doing anyway, though in the process of finding out I have discovered a few things that I was doing wrong (going too low and doing shoulders over hands rather than elbows over hands) as well as the video Soover posted which is very helpful as buildup. I find it a difficult one to fit into a flow though - lowering without just flopping definitely takes me a while!

Keepmewarm · 25/01/2020 22:11

I’m far behind. Completed day 14 today but I’m proud and feeling really good.

noodlezoodle · 26/01/2020 00:49

Another person who enjoyed today but was confused by the legs! I was listening instead of watching so it wasn't until I stood up and could see the screen that I realised I was on the wrong leg.

Soover since you posted that link to yoga mats I've become obsessed with the idea of getting a round mat, but the one I want is out of stock until April. Have put myself on the waitlist!

Sooverthemill · 26/01/2020 10:21

@noodlezoodle apologies!

I loved today's short cosy practice. We all have some kind of virus and no one is feeling great but this was okay for me. And the cat lay on my tummy at the end.

Was thinking during the practice that I think Adrienne is trying to woo new people with this 30 days who may not normally engage with yoga. Many days after an Adrienne session I'm hot sweaty and shattered but that hasn't happened yet!

mimiasovitch · 26/01/2020 10:25

@Sooverthemill good to know todays is gentle. I have some sort of sambuca related virus and can't quite face the thought of a down dog just yet.

KittyMcKitty · 26/01/2020 10:29

I also loved today’s practice and I often struggle with the more relaxed ones (not good at quieting my mind).

I follow the monthly calendars so looking forward to seeing what February has in store.

wickedfairy · 26/01/2020 11:57

A question re monthly calendars - I didn't realise they existed!!

Is it another 30 days of something, every month? I was wondering how to keep going and which videos to do!

Will they be available on YouTube like this months calendar? Thanks

KittyMcKitty · 26/01/2020 12:49

They’re all here:

yogawithadriene.com/calendar/

The majority is existing stuff and she generally does a new vid every week. There is some content which is paid for but a YouTube alternative is always offered.

She sad in today’s newsletter that the Feb calendar is on its way but it’s not live yet.

parrotonmyshoulder · 26/01/2020 12:53

I’m catching up. Did Day 23 this morning and might fit in 24 later as I think it’s short.
I’m appreciating the fairly low intensity approach and it’s really working already for flexibility and toning. I might repeat in February or try the calendar as discussed above.

Sooverthemill · 26/01/2020 13:04

I thunk I will repeat this one next month then go for true then revolution. I rarely follow the calendar tbh, very often the practices are too long but sometimes I happen to do the one that's due!

parrotonmyshoulder · 26/01/2020 13:37

I really struggle to commit to the longer practices. 20 minutes is perfect, sometimes up to 30. I remember one of the 30 Days being mostly really long. Was it Dedicate?

KittyMcKitty · 26/01/2020 13:38

Soover did you do the 7 day chakra on FWFG - I’m thinking of doing it and wondered how people found it.

OP posts:
Sooverthemill · 26/01/2020 13:50

Yes I did and I loved it. And Rise and the Ritual series. Also paid extra for the Commune one which I really liked ( paid to download to keep for ever). What I hate is the 'guests' because I am now so used to Adrienne I find I can't concentrate on new voices. I don't mind paying for the app so I can access these extra series when I want, for me it feels like £7.99 is well worth it ( I did trial free ) days first).

wickedfairy · 26/01/2020 14:27

Thank you Kitty - I'll look out for that on YouTube. I don't have the paid part - maybe in time once I've worked my way through all the free ones!

UnaOfStormhold · 26/01/2020 14:29

I've enjoyed Home but I find it has been rather lower intensity than I would have liked. Which is good in its way but I don't really feel I've earned or need the go easy sessions. Any recommendations for something with short but a bit more intense sessions? (I appreciate I should probably be careful what I wish for!)

Redpriestandmozart · 26/01/2020 17:36

Day 25 done, dog joined me on the mat, thank goodness there was enough room for the two of us. When she says blanket and pillow I get way too excited. Only 5 days to go, such a lovely month it has been.

KittyMcKitty · 26/01/2020 19:21

Thank you Soover I’ve paid the FWFG membership and I agree it’s nice to have - I’ve even watched the making of Home!

Know what you mean about different voices and their cues - I go to one group class a week and follow Adriene- I’m not keen on lots of different people. The teacher at the class I go to is quite similar to Adriene in manner.

i didn't get to post yesterday but I did manage to get my yoga day done and also completed day 25 today. It was the first time in this series that I've really enjoyed one of her gentle ones.

I was visiting friends most of the day and had probably eaten quite a bit more than my diet would have liked, so I felt I needed an extra calorie burn. You Tube suggested my next watch would be a Fitness Blender 10 minute abs. I merrily clicked play and OMG was it tough. I can feel it in my abs already!

noodlezoodle · 26/01/2020 21:52

Loved today - I don't normally like the very slow ones but this had enough stretchiness in it to feel really good. Can't believe there's less than a week to go!

Redpriestandmozart · 27/01/2020 09:39

Day 26 done, another nice day, short and sweet although for some reason I managed to confuse myself with the pyramids and did two rights instead of left and right. Sometimes I don't pay enough attention.
