Very excited when the email came this morning! Is anyone else up for this?

I surprised myself by coming closer to getting the crow off the ground than I've ever done before - managed unweighting alternate feet and little hops unweighting both, but was a little too worried about crashing forward to find the balance point. One to come back to though, this time with a blanket in front!

sycamore54321 · 12/01/2020 19:57

Day 11 and I am back to loving nearly every minute of it. I found some of the prolonged warriors tough and the crow is not anywhere close to me but I really enjoyed the more physical practice today.

I picked up some cheap yoga socks with grips on the sole in a sports shop; I mainly wanted them to keep my feet warm but the non-slip part is brilliant.

UnaOfStormhold · 12/01/2020 20:05

Oh, and I was walking past a new yoga studio in town today and saw in the window a sign saying "Being too inflexible to do yoga is like being too dirty to have a bath." Must investigate...

noodlezoodle · 12/01/2020 22:57

I enjoyed today's although I have more chance of sprouting wings and flying than I do of achieving a crow pose. I have only ever managed it once for a couple of seconds, after which I crashed down on my face. I have now accepted it is not meant to be Grin

@Sooverthemill I had a quick look at which Dedicate videos I bookmarked and they are Day 6 (Abs - why???!!!), 8 which was a lovely meditate one, 11 which had quite a few balances, 14, 21, 26 and 28. I can't remember most of them but might just work through Dedicate in February if I don't like the look of the Feb calendar.

I struggled to focus this morning, maybe because I was over tired but enjoyed some of the stretches.

Early night tonight I think to see if that improves things for tomorrow.

Day 12 done, wrapping up in a blanket at 6am in the morning enhances my fear of falling asleep on the mat and missing work!! That means it's just a bit harder for me to totally relax but I still enjoyed the stretch in my hips and legs. We're all getting close to have way :)

poorbuthappy · 13/01/2020 15:00

I am now 2 days behind - bring on the yoga fest when I get home tonight!
I will not stop as I have been feeling the benefit massively.

parrotonmyshoulder · 13/01/2020 16:35

I’m a few days behind so have just done day 10. I found it the most boring so far and it was hard to keep focused. Day 11 sounds more interesting.

KinkyDoritowithsparkleson · 13/01/2020 17:53

Definitely a helpful one today after a shocking work day and the prospect of further work this evening. Needed that blanket!

Sooverthemill · 13/01/2020 18:30

@noodlezoodle brilliant idea. I may do the same

I haven't done say 12 yet. Had a terrible night with DD who is very unwell. Hope got to manage it tonight or else to double up tomorrow ( if she sleeps).

poorbuthappy · 13/01/2020 19:04

Days 10 11 and 12 done.
11 made me sweat!

daisychain01 · 13/01/2020 19:20

Day 11 on the books!

I enjoyed it because she's been building up the moves over several days, so today I felt quite stretchy for a change!

It was actually a bit too short today, at 21 mins. I would have liked it as a 35 min session.

daisychain01 · 13/01/2020 19:23

Oops I just realised I'm one day behind! We went to see 1917 yesterday so it disrupted my schedule.

Oh well, I have half a day off so will have to do Day 12 and 13 tomorrow Smile

sycamore54321 · 13/01/2020 20:57

I've finished day 12 nurture and added Fitness Blender sciatica stretches also.

I really enjoyed today. I wasn't expecting to as I normally don't gel well with the blanket/socks huggy ones. I liked how she mixed it up just a little.

The new consistent twenty-minute lengths are really suiting me.

KittyMcKitty · 13/01/2020 21:07

Sooverthemill Flowers I’m so sorry- hope you get more sleep tonight. Hugs to you and your dd.

Redcrayons · 13/01/2020 21:10

Day 12 done. I'm not a fan of the blanket/cosy up ones but there was a decent amount of stretching to make it feel like I was doing something.

@Sooverthemill oh no, it's awful when they're ill. If you haven't already done it you might find yourself drifting off in the blanket bit today.

UnaOfStormhold · 13/01/2020 22:17

Hope your DD feels better soon Sooverthemill and that you both have a restful night.

Enjoyed today, nice to have a gentle practice at the end of a busy day. "And your right hand comes to your left thigh, or to the head of your dog if you have one handy..."

Redpriestandmozart · 14/01/2020 07:30

Day 13 done, it was ok another short one, am I the only one who is finding this month much less intense than previous challenges? Not that I am complaining and it's a gentle introduction back for me after a long break and MS problems. I'm anticipating each morning that will be the day that absolutely wrecks me.

Sooverthemill I hope your daughter is improving and you've both have had a better night's sleep

UnaOfStormhold · 14/01/2020 07:54

Haven't done previous challenges so can't compare but I was expecting a bit more intensity by this point. Not saying that having day six level of intensity every day would be good, but a bit more middle ground would be nice!

Sooverthemill · 14/01/2020 09:14

We slept! In fact she's still asleep and I didn't wake until 7.15 which is massive lie in for me. Bliss. So I confess I just did day 13 today. Loved it. Will squeeze in day 12 another day.
Thanks for the good wishes. She is permanently ill and it's a bit tough sometimes but yoga saves my sanity

Frenchfancy · 14/01/2020 17:53

I'm well behind. Just done day 8 , a lovely meditative session that I need to bookmark for the evenings I have no energy. I have a feeling if I did that just before bed I would sleep like a baby. Instead I had to get up halfway to stir dinner and was worrying about whether it was burning.

daisychain01 · 14/01/2020 19:05

I did 2 days in reverse.

First today's Day 13 which was quite energetic.

Saved Day 12 to second, as it looked like it was more relaxing and stretchy. I used my fleece dressing gown as my blankie!

Enjoyed both, especially cobbler pose, which was a very intense groin stretch for me, as I had done a Spin class this morning so everything had tightened up!

Does anyone else notice Benji is quite inactive in this series? Is he getting older do we think, or just super yogic relaxed. I'm not sure whether to feel sad or not. He's such a dear old thing!

Sooverthemill · 14/01/2020 19:36

Benji is only 6! He's just very chiiled

UnaOfStormhold · 14/01/2020 19:44

Managed to squeeze today's practice in at work. I like the cartwheeling down from warrior and then opening up the other side.

sycamore54321 · 14/01/2020 20:10

I've just completed day 13 also, and really liked it too. Concise but with a nice kick in the abs work in the end. I was nowhere near any of her optimum pose for it - toes on the floor even when extending the straight leg, but I still felt it working. She is right that improvement can come very quickly and I hope I maintain my consistency so I can benefit from better core strength.

V glad to hear your sick daughter is sleeping better, @Sooverthemill, and that you are getting rest yourself. Feeling rested allows you take on the world, I find. Best wishes to her.
