It's day 23 and there are just 7 days of Dedicate left. Well done yogis for getting onto the mat in your own way and at your own pace. We’re here to support each other as we yoga to the end of Dedicate, through to Feb and beyond.

Hi all Smile

I’ve just done the Compassion (58min) YWA, I thought I’d try something different to my usual strength routine. It sounds like it should be a meditative, ‘fluffy’ one. It isn’t, it’s another challenging strength and balance once.

I’m ‘good’ at the extended side angles and usually just touch the floor with my fingertips with my core doing the work. I’m less good with the balancy things but i’m trying and I do things like standing on alternate legs whilst I wait for the kettle to boil/cook dinner etc to try to build on it.

My Downward Dog is frustrating too. I find it pulls on my shoulders to the point of discomfort, same with extended child’s pose.

Iambuffy · 02/05/2019 08:39

Ds2 wants to do some yoga with me so we are going to do rainbow yoga later :)

EntirelyAnonymised · 02/05/2019 09:21

Morning all.

I’ve done quite a lot of strength this week. I fancy a bit of flex. Can anyone recommend a nice flexibility focused session, ideally from Yoga with Adrienne? Around 30 mins?

quirkychick · 02/05/2019 16:36

I think Adriene has a yoga for flexibility one, but I'm not sure how long it is.

I did Erin's Beach Hands free one, today which was good.

quirkychick · 02/05/2019 16:41

Entirely if you search yoga with Adriene flexibility quite a few videos come up. There's a 30mins ish one as part of True, which I have done but can't quite remember.

AugustRose · 04/05/2019 11:59

Hadn't realised it I hadn't posted since Wednesday. Been doing various things including yoga/aerobics/abs and arms . This morning I did Adriene's Yoga for the Spine - it's a nice one, longer but with smooth movement.

GreenHatHacker · 04/05/2019 20:10

Have had some sort of 48 hr bug this week, too exhausted the past two nights to even attempt my old favourite Day 8 Meditate.

Overslept by 2 hrs this morning (thank goodness for BHol weekend!) then had a glorious 3hr nap this afternoon. Woke up with that exhausted but triumphant feeling when you know you've shaken off being ill. Have had a lovely hot bath and now going to just gently move through some yoga poses to loosen up.

Only just downloaded the May calendar - there's some intriguingly titled days there - looking forward to picking things up again.

GreenHatHacker · 06/05/2019 10:10

May 6th, so did Day 6 from May calendar - logical for a change!

Found it a bit 'meh', neither a flow nor a real stretch and rather too much on the knees for my dodgy left knee. Not a repeat one for me, I'm afraid! Feeling a bit cheated so will try to do something this evening to feel I've done my yoga for the day.

quirkychick · 06/05/2019 20:24

I did the Yoga to feel your best, yesterday as I've felt tired all week. Hormones are stopping me sleeping Angry.

Today I redid the Five Parks Cardio Core, my obliques can feel it! I can't manage the roll to boat or chair, I still need a hand to help me up, but I did manage dolphin with one leg in the air.

AugustRose · 07/05/2019 11:04

No yoga on Sunday as we had a long walk up and down hills and my calfs were feeling it yesterday. I actually stopped a yoga yesterday as I was in a hurry and couldn't focus so nothing then either. This morning I have done Five Parks yoga for stress & anxiety followed by some arm weights.

Iambuffy · 07/05/2019 11:11

Heart and hips yoga from may calendar for me today.

It'll be later though.

AugustRose · 08/05/2019 10:04

@quirkychick well done with the cardio core! I had a go but the transitions were too quick for me, and I can't do anything that rests on one shoulder at a time.

I swapped to a legs one and did my own core after it.

Iambuffy · 08/05/2019 10:45

Did 5 min yoga after the gym. Side planks! Argh. But I managed them.

quirkychick · 08/05/2019 11:01

AugustRose I have to be a bit careful of my shoulder so stop and rest as necessary. I also do the transitions from rolling to boat/chair slower, with a hand to help me up Smile. I did manage dolphin with a leg raised, for the first time, I need to clasp my hands, though, not have forearms parallel.

I did the Shiva Rea Standing Evolution flow, which was less wrist free than I though and quite tough too. Today, I have done the Five Parks Neck and Shoulder release as I'm tired and it feels good after.

AugustRose · 10/05/2019 10:47

I did this one this morning, it's an hour long with a nice pace, and as the title says it's a little bit of everything.

quirkychick · 11/05/2019 15:13

I did the Five Parks no frills morning yoga. I'll have a look at that one AugustRose.

GreenHatHacker · 11/05/2019 19:49

I like the look of that August, will try to find time for it.
This week I've done 'yoga for the spine', plus old favourites day 6 Core and day 8 Meditate from Dedicate. Going to do a bit of free styling this evening to get the kinks out.

quirkychick · 12/05/2019 09:40

I redid the Five Parks Vinyasa twisty one, which I haven't done for a while. I didn't find the flow so challenging, but my half moons (with a block) are a bit wobbly, I need more time to get in and out of the pose still.

AugustRose · 12/05/2019 12:32

I still can't do half moon without wobbling backwards.

This morning I did Adriene's Heart Opening Rose yoga. It was OK but a little slow.

GreenHatHacker · 15/05/2019 08:02

Working from home today, so up early and did the May Day 3 - which is Revolution Day 13, Opening Practice. I like to think I have fairly flexible hips, but they must take a while to get warmed up as I found that quite challenging!

Enjoyable challenging though, feeling well exercised in arms from all the 3 legged dog work, and definitely opened in the hips!

AugustRose · 15/05/2019 11:24

Lovely long 1st Root chakra and lower body with Five Parks this morning and for once it's really sunny outside as it is with Erin Grin

AugustRose · 16/05/2019 11:22

Dedicate Day 6 abs today followed by some arms exercises. I'm so excited this week as I have been accepted to study for a woodland conservation degree in September so I will need to be fit by then.

GreenHatHacker · 16/05/2019 17:22

Ooh congratulations August! That sounds amazing!

quirkychick · 17/05/2019 10:30

Congratulations AugustRose!

I did half the Five Parks bit of everything, as it's an hour long and will do the rest tomorrow. It starts of quite slow, but there were a fair amount of chatarungas and planks by the middle, I managed to straighten my legs in pyramid when you touch the floor too. Not this one, but one of her others, I impressed myself by reaching my back foot in pigeon. Still need a block, though. My legs must be improving in flexibility... slowly.

AugustRose · 18/05/2019 11:16

Thank you.

Five Parks twisty this morning, yesterday I did a short HIIT/Tabata - 30 minutes and this morning the top of my legs are killing me! It's all good though, right?
