It's day 23 and there are just 7 days of Dedicate left. Well done yogis for getting onto the mat in your own way and at your own pace. We’re here to support each other as we yoga to the end of Dedicate, through to Feb and beyond.

Thanks for the Five Parks wrist free link August just done that and enjoyed it. Can 'feel the burn' in my ankles after all the one legged balances! I think my balance is slowly improving, but I do still wobble embarrassingly!

Have resorted to the 'old faithfuls' for other days this week - Dedicate day 8 on Tues when I was feeling the return to work after the long weekend and day 6 Core yesterday when I was feeling more energetic.

Will have to try some more of the new ones from Adriene's calendar - has anyone found anything they really love this month? I think the side body flow from April 3rd is something I'll do from time to time to mix things up a bit.

Hello all, I've been travelling for work so today was my first day in a while - I did the yoga to feel your best and honestly I didn't really like it.

Not sure if it was the routine itself or that fact that there were too many things in there that hurt my ankle - I knew I was still struggling to sit cross-legged but was unreasonably upset to find I can't do extended child's pose - that's my favourite resting pose and to not be able to do it has really made me grumpy. Weirdly the other stuff like hovering table was fine - it's anything where my ankle is at an angle or has sideways pressure on it that is a problem.

I'm sulking for a bit and then I'll get over myself and try rainbow yoga tomorrow to cheer me up Smile

Cherrypi · 25/04/2019 21:58

I liked yoga for a rainy day.

Iambuffy · 25/04/2019 22:00

I enjoyed rainbow yoga and yoga for a healthy body this month.

quirkychick · 26/04/2019 07:49

I did the Five Parks 15 mins deep stretch, as it's my turn to have hardly any sleep, thanks dd2 Sad.

I will try the longer hands free one when I have more time and energy, I enjoyed the other wrist free one, it certainly helped my hamstrings and ankle/foot.

I enjoyed the rainbow yoga and the ocean flow too.

Iambuffy · 26/04/2019 09:10

Gym today for the 1st time in 10 days!
Do you guys do yoga and workouts on the same day?
I'm trying to alternate atm

quirkychick · 26/04/2019 09:47

I do weights at home and lots of walking. I started doing Yoga to help with stretching/flexibility to complement the weights. I now do it every day, as I got hooked Smile. I only intended to do it a couple of times a week to start. However, today was a short stretch session, so not a full on power yoga practice, so I do some every day, even if it's just a little.

Iambuffy · 26/04/2019 09:53

Hmmm
I might do the same then

AugustRose · 26/04/2019 11:16

Very panful shoulders again so I have rested for two days, I know what does it - doing something with a lot of shoulder strength followed by gardening/housework - I should know by now that I can't do both in one day.

Felt better this morning so I have done another hands free one. I need to find aerobic stuff that doesn't involve a lot of arms movement or just learn to keep my arms down more for a while. I'm just so disappointed at the minute as I hoped increasing the fat burning stuff and eating less (especially evenings) would help me lose a few pounds but I have actually put on a few Sad

quirkychick · 26/04/2019 13:08

Flowers AugustRose. I have an old rotator cuff injury that niggles from time to time, particularly if I don't watch my alignment with poses like plank etc. When you feel ready, I really recommend the Five Parks Neck and Shoulder stretches.

EntirelyAnonymised · 26/04/2019 13:21

Hi, mind if I join? I’ve been yoga-ing on and off for about 5 years. Mostly at home with Adriene and Candace (prefer Adriene) and have had a block of private 1-1 Hatha sessions (£60 each).

I tend to do the YWA strength video linked up thread by @AugustRose. I find it well paced and suited to my needs and abilities but still challenging. It has really helped build my strength. I really struggle with the revolved chair pose when she asks us to balance on one leg by bringing a foot up. The balance point is so tricky.

GreenHatHacker · 27/04/2019 08:11

Tried the Yoga for a Rainy Day this morning (thanks Cherrypi!) Very fitting for the view outside the window - and a lovely slow stretchy one. Will use that again on my evenings when I come home from work too knackered for a fast flow!

quirkychick · 27/04/2019 13:55

Welcome, entirely, I'll have a look at the strength one.

I did the Respect and Replenish, today, as it wasn't too fast but you still work quite hard holding plank and all those warrior/side angle moves. I'm pleased to see how much more flexible I am in forward fold with my feet together.

Iambuffy · 28/04/2019 12:21

I've really lost my yoga mojo since having the flu in March :(

quirkychick · 28/04/2019 13:32

lambbuffy be gentle on yourself, flu can leave you feeling rubbish for ages after. You need to do lots of restorative practice Grin.

I did the Adriene strength on that AugustRose linked to up thread. It's quite like the Five Parks twisty one with the chair pose balance into a twist. I would say it's quite tough on your wrists and shoulders, so I'm not surprised if it makes a shoulder injury flare up!

quirkychick · 28/04/2019 13:34

Posted too soon... I did enjoy the strength one and can see a difference in flexibility. My crow wasn't great, but I haven't done it for a while, I only managed about 2 seconds.

Iambuffy · 28/04/2019 16:21

About to do today's meditation one

Iambuffy · 28/04/2019 17:12

Well, that was nice.
I'm never sure what I'm supposed to feel after meditation ones tbh

Iambuffy · 29/04/2019 11:13

Did hip and lower back after the gym today.

Quite nice stretches.

AugustRose · 29/04/2019 11:58

I did another hands free one on Saturday but none yesterday as we were out all day. I'm going to do greet the day yoga today, it has downward dogs but that doesn't affect my should as much - it's more the planks and chatarungs because of the tight position of the tops of the arms.

quirkychick · 29/04/2019 13:11

I did the Rainy Day yoga this morning, I've done it before, as I needed something a little gentler due to poor sleep thanks peri-menopause and a niggly hamstring.

noodlezoodle · 29/04/2019 18:26

Thank you Cherrypi, I did Rainy Day yoga yesterday and I enjoyed it so much I'm going to do it again today!

GreenHatHacker · 29/04/2019 21:11

Another one for Rainy Day again today! It's just right after a long day at work, stretchy but not intimidating!

quirkychick · 30/04/2019 09:39

I tried the Five Parks 20min morning yoga, not too hard for those unsure about the Five Parks series (the stretch ones are slower and have lots of modifications too) . It was quite similar to Adriene's rainy day, actually, lots of stretching, some sun salutations, pigeon, supine twists and happy baby.

AugustRose · 01/05/2019 11:00

I must remember the rainy day one, it's hard to keep track with so many videos to choose from!

Yesterday i did some aerobics followed by a few of my own abs, this morning I have done Adriene's Power Yoga followed by Yoga for the abdominal wall. My abs must be that much stronger as I don't tend to feel it the next day anymore, not like when I started and would be in agony for at least two days after any abs session Grin
