Who's up for a thread to discuss our progress this year? We've had threads following Adriene's 30 days of Yoga for the last few years so sign up now for January.

Based on the last few years I'll warn you now: watch out for day 6!!!!

I missed yesterday and today is looking doubtful due to a horrendous migraine I'm feeling terrible

Gumpendorf · 04/01/2018 14:21

I felt great after doing Day 2 but had a massive panic attack in the evening. I know this can happen and it's a difficult time of year for me (yesterday was anniversary of my cancer diagnosis so the whole panic, shock thing was v familiar and not very welcome).

Anyway, I'm a bit nervous about doing today's workout. I'm going to ease gently into it.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 04/01/2018 14:30

gump
todays was lovely and stretchy and gentle.
Think might make you feel better.
Hopefully help you in your battle. Flowers

Gumpendorf · 04/01/2018 14:52

Thanks mumsie

My nerve endings feel a bit raw and sore today so that's just what I need. Thanks

randomsabreuse · 04/01/2018 15:31

I love late evening yoga - it really helps me wind down and relax ready for bed. Good balance for running too so enjoying the variety and consistency of a 30 day thing.

I have done a bit of yoga in the past and have to adapt for my total lack of flexibility so hoping that a 30 day thing might help improve that without me getting bored of the same video every time!

ClickHip · 04/01/2018 15:53

Day 3 done here. Enjoyed it but felt stiff as I was doing the stretches. Didn't feel as flexible today ?? Due to feeling stiff!!
Had a bath. Still stiff. Can't wait for tomorrow.

Lack of exercise really showing but I'm loving it none the less.

Rollerbird · 04/01/2018 16:22

I did day 2 straight followed by day 3 this morning - i might regret it tomorrow!
I liked day 3 - there was a roll over thing that my boobs totally got in the way of though!

Kikisdeliveries · 04/01/2018 16:39

I'm stiff today as well! Very glad that today was a stretchy one, definitely needed it!

ClickHip · 04/01/2018 16:58

Day 4 is Floor. Rolling around whilst stiff with the boobs getting in the way then Grin

quirkychick · 04/01/2018 17:00

Another one who was stiff today, so really needed the stretch. I think Adriene has loads of beginner videos under "Foundations of Yoga" which spend time with a particular pose. CountFosco I completely agree that the more you do yoga, the harder it can be! I flip flop between Adriene's stretchy, very mindful yoga and Shiva Rea's more power vinyasa flow yoga. I agree you need both.

coffeecow · 04/01/2018 17:26

Oooh I see I'm not the only Adriene fan! I can't wait to get home and get on the mat. I am enjoying having the 30 day commitment (my yoga is a bit adhoc with life getting in the way) so it's great to have a goal. I'm off on holiday next week though so that will be an interesting challenge!

Hockneypool · 04/01/2018 18:09

Enjoyed day 3 too. I’m enjoying doing something different each day. My shoulders ache, can’t decide if it’s the stretching, the computer or the cycling. Probably all three and my age!

frenchfancy · 04/01/2018 18:18

I did do today as I had to be up and out before it came on line. I'm going to do it tomorrow so then I'm not waiting for the video in the morning.

qumquat · 04/01/2018 18:31

I love Adrienne but every time I try to do her workouts my lower back starts to hurt and continues for days so I always have to give up. Anyone any ideas what I'm doing wrong? I so want to be a yogi!

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 04/01/2018 18:35

quirky is shiva also youtube?
why both?

Rankellior · 04/01/2018 18:36

Just done Day 3 here too. I’m enjoying it and it’s not too hard yet but I remember from last year that it gets more challenging quickly - still have memories of trying to do crow pose on day 10 or something and failing miserably.
I am going to do my best to stick with it - have seen huge progress this year just from an occasional class and watching her you tube. I’m no super yogi but more flexible for sure!

wintersdawn · 04/01/2018 19:04

Day 2 done it felt good, i don't mind the pigeon pose but does anyone else struggle with their stomach getting in the way during child's pose?

ProjectGainsborough · 04/01/2018 19:20

Well, I’m extremely late but just finished day 1! Blush

Was really struggling to find time as I work in the evenings after the kids have gone down, but eventually just bunged the kids in front of the tv for half an hour.

Will probably be behind everyone consistently... but I’m doing it!

I struggled a bit today, my mind kept wandering. Can't step my leg through from downward dog at all...

BuzzKillington · 04/01/2018 20:18

It dragged a bit today, but I am glad I did it.

One of the lying on the front poses killed my boobs!

Gumpendorf · 04/01/2018 20:19

Day 3: done. I worked through my fears Grin

I found it more difficult physically than yesterday. I struggled to bring my foot forward after DD. And I was just toppling over in the brief balance section. I cannot balance.

Bring on day 4.

Rollerbird · 04/01/2018 20:40

What is too tight to stop us getting foot through after dd to lunge?
So i can maybe try and stretch it!

Cherrypi · 04/01/2018 20:56

I can’t get my foot forward either though I’m better than I used to be. Glad I’m not the only one with boob issues from rolling on day 3. Ouch.

WeAreGerbil · 04/01/2018 21:06

I can get my foot through on one side but not the other, I just shove it up with my hand.
