Who's up for a thread to discuss our progress this year? We've had threads following Adriene's 30 days of Yoga for the last few years so sign up now for January.

Based on the last few years I'll warn you now: watch out for day 6!!!!

Can you do it if you're pregnant? Or is there an online pregnancy course I could do? I think the commitment of a course would be more compelling than the odd session here or there.

museumum · 30/12/2017 13:23

countfosco - I usually do Mysore style ashtanga so practise 6x a week and not on moon days. So 31 days straight is a bit daunting, but then I guess as you say the sequence isn't always the same like with ashtanga.

Talisin · 30/12/2017 14:03

Timings for the first seven sessions have been posted:

Orientation – 2m
Day 1 – Motive – 24m
Day 2 – Trust – 36m
Day 3 – Stretch – 34m
Day 4 – Floor – 33m
Day 5 – High – 24m
Day 6 – Kindle – 21m
Day 7 – Salud – 25m

CountFosco · 30/12/2017 14:13

museumum she does more of a gentle Hatha style on the free videos so it will feel very gentle in comparison to Ashtanga. Her strapline is 'Find what feels good'.

Am I right in thinking that day 1 is actually on the 2nd?

justabigdisco · 30/12/2017 23:18

I tried to do it last year, got to about day 10. The mistake I made was trying to 'catch up' and do more than one in a day when I'd missed one for whatever reason. This time I'll just let it slide if I miss one, or do it over a longer number of days as per PP

RhinestoneCowgirl · 30/12/2017 23:20

Knew there would be a thread on this. Have got out of the habit of yoga recently (mainly due to finding time) so hope this will kick start me again.

As other posters have said, I have done previous years over slightly longer timescale if I couldn't manage a daily session.

Talisin · 31/12/2017 03:38

jubb Yep, she gives us a day to get over hangovers and just has the orientation video on the 1st.

MrFMercury · 31/12/2017 03:48

I've signed up.... I'm blaming sleep deprivation as I've got Body Boss to start too!

justabigdisco · 31/12/2017 08:25

What are others going to do if they miss a day?

Tangarine · 31/12/2017 08:50

Signing in. I did last year’s series and managed to keep going with yoga for most of the year, but have let it slip recently. Looking forward to getting back to it.

ProjectGainsborough · 31/12/2017 08:57

In! Need to deal with crap posture and stress, so this sounds good.

FedUpWithBriiiiiick · 31/12/2017 09:01

I'm in! I take a weekly yoga class, but I need a bit more at the moment to shape up and sort the ol bones out!

Adriene is an excellent yogi. Not patronising, really easy to follow, very personable.

I have joined. It is one of my new year's resolutions to start yoga.

KimKsButt · 31/12/2017 12:18

I’ve signed up!!

HippoPotOMoose · 31/12/2017 12:22

I've just signed up, inspired by this thread.

3boysNeedABiggerKitchen · 31/12/2017 15:34

I'm in.
I do a weekly class at my gym, have dipped in and out of online and dvd sessions, I can't wait to really focus on a month (possibly will need to stretch it out a bit) of yoga

Buxbaum · 01/01/2018 10:19

Pannacott I could have sworn that I had read an FAQ which said that it was safe during pregnancy but I’ve just gone through my emails and can’t find it. I’m 14 weeks and just coming out of a fairly horrendous first trimester so I am looking forward to getting back on my mat, although I will be taking it easy. It will be absolutely fine if you are a reasonably experienced practitioner and if you listen to your body but if you’re a total beginner then you might prefer to start with Adriene’s ‘yoga for beginners’ videos. She does have some antenatal practices but I’m not sure if they’re free. The relaxin in your ligaments means that it’s very easy to overextend and injure yourself in pregnancy.

InfiniteSheldon · 01/01/2018 11:32

I'm in going to do last day of Revolution today Grin

DragonsAndCakes · 01/01/2018 11:35

I’ve signed up. Thought day one sounded a bit too gentle so I’ve swapped a random day six from another of her sets. Not the abs one. I just did it all so am feeling very pleased with myself. I normally get to about ten minutes with yoga videos.

BossyBitch · 01/01/2018 11:38

Yes, I'm in!

Last year was a bit shite for me altogether with a bunch of family deaths and health scares and a heavy workload, and I practically abandoned my long-standing daily practice. I might have done some 12 hours of yoga all year if I'm being generous and I've lost all my flexibility.

PurpleDaisies · 01/01/2018 11:38

I’ve signed up too. No email yet though.

mydietstartsmonday · 01/01/2018 11:43

I would like to join in, love Adriene

Frenchfemme · 01/01/2018 11:44

I'm going to give this a try. I normally do Pilates but would like to try Yoga for a change. I won't be starting until 4th January so will be a few days behind you all.
