Who's up for a thread to discuss our progress this year? We've had threads following Adriene's 30 days of Yoga for the last few years so sign up now for January.

Based on the last few years I'll warn you now: watch out for day 6!!!!

Day 23 too. Long day, was tired and got home late so wasn’t totally in the right frame of mind. 7 day’s to go!! Smile

DragonsAndCakes · 25/01/2018 07:15

Just did day 18, with three RL classes that’s a lot of yoga in January!
I always like having got it out of the way early in the day.

Ietthemeatcake · 25/01/2018 08:20

Day 23 done. I quite liked that one. Glad I did it in the morning as it got my heart going!

DamnDeDoubtanceIsSpartacus · 25/01/2018 09:58

21 and 22 done, hope to do 23 tonight.

quirkychick · 25/01/2018 10:04

Just done Day 22, trying to combine the daily yoga with some resistance/weights exercises this week too. Arms were very sore yesterday after using a resistance band on Monday. I am feeling fitter, though and more flexible, I managed pigeon yesterday and the balances were easier too.

DamnDeDoubtanceIsSpartacus · 25/01/2018 10:17

@quirkychick those Shiva Rae ones look Amazing!!! Thanks for the reccy! Flowers

frenchfancy · 25/01/2018 14:28

Day 18 done. Quite hard with the squats but I am definitely getting stronger.

I Loved yesterday’s balances. Looking forward to a short relaxing session after my gym class this evening!

Tangarine · 25/01/2018 20:52

Day 24 was just what I needed this evening. I think this is the longest yoga streak I have ever managed.

quirkychick · 26/01/2018 07:21

DamnDe I discovered Shiva Rea through a post-natal dvd ages ago. I have some of her daily yoga dvds (I'm sure they're on YouTube too) which are 20mins but quite fast. Some of her stuff is quite advanced, but she's super calm but very Californian (in a good way).

Day 23 done. I like the balances, I'm getting better, but the standing splits are quite challenging.

frenchfancy · 26/01/2018 16:28

Day 19 done. I surprised myself by being able to do the balances and squats.

Rollerbird · 26/01/2018 19:10

I did 22 today and a RL class!
Quite looking forward to the balance.

ferriswheel · 26/01/2018 19:19

So if you start from day one and follow the progression you do find yourself improve? The idea of it seems too difficult to me.

1000piecepuzzle · 26/01/2018 21:19

Caught up with days 22, 23, 24 yesterday and 25 today. Its definitely getting harder but also surprising myself with what I can do - managed all the planks for the full duration today.

Ferris I started as a complete beginner and can definitely see improvements in my strength and flexibility. The main thing for me though has been the mental change - I look forward to this so much every evening I can't believe it. Adriene is very encouraging and gives lots of different options to suit your abilities.

Thanks Tangerine for the mat tip - I'm just on a rug on wooden floor so will look out for one to help with the balances.

ferriswheel · 26/01/2018 21:45

Thanks 1000.

I guess i should start. Im still a bit intomidated though.

Littlebearcat · 27/01/2018 00:15

Hi ferris I am a bit behind. I just did day 11 and 12 yesterday. Already I am feeling a bit longer and more stretchy iyswim. I recommend to do what you can as often as you can, and listen to your body. The more you do it the more you will want to I think. Is anyone else a little behind ?

WeAreGerbil · 27/01/2018 08:08

I'm behind, I think on about day 16. I dropped a couple of days because of other exercising but then I got ill and DD got ill but I was still working so too tired and grotty. I'm still a bit ill but going to do some today and tomorrow.

frenchfancy · 27/01/2018 08:45

Day 20 done. A good morning one - I guess that is why it is called awaken.

Ferris just go for it. You are at home, no one will see if your legs are bent or you fall over on a balance. I'm definitely more flexible - I can touch my toes with my legs straight for the first time in about 25 years. I'm also sleeping better as I am practicing my deep breathing whenever I wake in the night.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 27/01/2018 12:59

Just did Day 26-stillness not a particular strength of mine

I would suggest tissues by your yoga mat as the alternate nostril breathing thing in the beginning made my nose run in a very un-zen like way.

But loved the practice

quirkychick · 27/01/2018 12:59

Just done Day 24, gentle but did some core stuff after too as I'm trying to do walking + yoga + resistance/weights. ferris I started with the Yoga Camp 2 years ago and have been hooked since Smile. It is definitely designed for all levels and that includes beginners too. Perfect for me, as I've been recovering from flu/chest infection/cold and needed to get fitter again after recuperating.

AugustRose · 27/01/2018 13:30

I'm a bit frustrated that through a busy week and a cold I have missed 5 days! My plan is to do 2 a day until I catch up. So days 21 and 22 done today and after DD's birthday sleepover with 4 giggly girls last night, the time to myself was just what I needed.

Dard · 27/01/2018 13:53

How do you do is it online really want to do it?

frenchfancy · 27/01/2018 15:44

Go to her you tube channel and you can find all the videos.

charliedontsurf · 27/01/2018 19:52

I've just finished day 26. I've really enjoyed it and like you 1000 I look forward to it every day! Thanks OP for starting this thread as I had no idea this was available and I have loved it so far. I've done a bit of yoga (mainly bodybalance at the gym) but nothing really since I had DD who is almost 3 Blush

I really struggled with that lizard pose today, I've never tried it before and I found it hard to get down onto both forearms (could manage 1 but not the other!). I've really noticed an improvement in my fitness so much since the start, I could barely hold a plank at the beginning and I can now get my heels all the way down in downward dog. I struggle with a lack of commitment to anything but haven't seen any of this as a chore and will start her other 30 day programs once True is done Smile I've also tried a few of her other videos, I enjoy the one where she's on the beach and I sometimes do that one after if it's been a slower practice.
