Who's up for a thread to discuss our progress this year? We've had threads following Adriene's 30 days of Yoga for the last few years so sign up now for January.

Based on the last few years I'll warn you now: watch out for day 6!!!!

Day 16 for me - first time in my whole life I have stuck with an exercise program this long so feeling really pleased. Complete beginner so I'm very appreciative of the easier options she sometimes gives!

My balance is shocking - terrible flat feet and collapsed ankles - so I can't see half moon ever being achievable, or the other balancing ones, but still good to try for a half second.

Very keen to continue with another 30 days after this - sounds like Revolution is a good one to try.

GColdtimer · 18/01/2018 21:54

Well done 1000. And rest up frenchfancy Thanks

I am a day behind still. Will try and catch up this weekend. I did a TFWckass today and my quads are sore from a million squats but I liked day 16 nevertheless. Reminded me of the classes I did about 10 years ago.

Definitely fancy doing revolution next.

DamnDeDoubtanceIsSpartacus · 19/01/2018 06:43

Dragon did you slip down a wormhole? Grin

this has reminded me how much I love Yoga and how it suits me. I've tied it up with dry January and I'm feeling great. I might attempt dry Feb at the same time as Revelation, keep the momentum going.

1000, you're doing so well Smile

RhinestoneCowgirl · 19/01/2018 07:33

Finally back on the mat! Well behind so just done day 13, may do 14 this evening after work.

I think the chat sometimes helps me hold poses longer than I would have, sort of a distraction?

Even with the break I think my arms are getting stronger, hurrah Smile

AugustRose · 19/01/2018 14:33

Well done 1000 keep going, I have flat feet too and struggled with a lot of the standing moves but it is so much easier now, I also think my feet have changed shape and actually enjoy being barefoot.

Days 17 and 18 done now, enjoyed them both. Beware, day 18 is short but fast and intense! Loved it and will definitely come back to that one when I need a quick energy boost.

Tangarine · 19/01/2018 16:19

Day 18 done. I’m up for continuing Dry January and another 30 day programme next month. This is helping me through a really busy and difficult time at work.

BuzzKillington · 19/01/2018 18:29

Those side planks were a challenge today!

CountFosco · 19/01/2018 18:37

Day 12 done here, I remember doing the hip dips before but not so many. I do think this seems to be more strength building than her other 30 days routines. Or maybe I'm generally fitter so can push myself more. Of the older ones I think Revolution was my favourite but the original 30 days was good as well because she seemed to do more variety whereas I think Yoga Camp, Revolution and this are each a more cohesive set of practices.

The last couple of years I've worked my way back through the 30 days series so last year I did Revolution in Jan/Feb, Yoga Camp in Mar/Apr and 30 Days in May/June. It's interesting working your way back in time, you can hear how her descriptions have developed, she chats much less now than she use to!

DamnDeDoubtanceIsSpartacus · 19/01/2018 19:44

Is 12 the one with all the hip dips? I'm trying to tag all the good ones, loved that one. Just finished 18, side planks were challenging! Looking forward to working my way through her back catalogue Smile

Rankellior · 19/01/2018 20:53

I really struggled with the side planks tonight too. My balance was awful, hopefully it’s a one off!

Thehairthebod · 19/01/2018 21:10

I missed 17 yesterday due to being in too much pain from a run the previous day Grin so I just went into 18 as I didn't want to be behind and I was a bit short on time..... That counts right?

Anyway it was perfect as it was more core stuff with all the planks rather than lots of leg things with warriors and triangles, so I enjoyed it!

Maybe if I get to the end I will do day 17 then Wink

quirkychick · 20/01/2018 09:44

I did 17 today, but agree Thehairthebod that I had very sore glutes and hips after Day 16. Rest up frenchfancy I hope you feel better soon, we all had flu before Christmas and I just feel I'm starting to get fit again after.

carrie74 · 20/01/2018 10:05

I've largely given up Sad, I have so little spare time, and I want to use it for higher intensity stuff, and having done that, I can't then spare more time to add on another 30 mins of Adrienne. Very sad, as I do like her style, but when her intensity beefs up it's just not for long enough. I'm continuing with my normal yoga roughly weekly, but hiit/circuits the rest of the time.

BuzzKillington · 20/01/2018 10:32

Just did day 19 - nice short one today.

Ietthemeatcake · 20/01/2018 10:35

Day 18 done. I'm a day behind with doing it in the morning.
With her comment about getting leaner I just measured myself and disappointing I'm half an inch bigger on my waist, hips and thigh from when I last measured a month ago 😟. I'm also 2lb heavier so I suppose that explains it.
I am doing less exercise classes to fit in True and not be ridiculously sore (dropped a spin class and boxercise class, still doing a Pilates class). Wondering if that was a mistake now!
Enjoyed today's practice though. The side planks were tough but I appreciated a shorter practice after struggling to fit in a 40 min one before work on day 16.

WeAreGerbil · 20/01/2018 11:02

I have the same exercise issue letthem - I just decided I'd get behind rather than trying to do a session I wouldn't get the most from because of aching muscles. I've just done 14. I already have a home yoga practice though so can do that on days I don't feel up to a full Adriene work out. I did enjoy being in step with others on here, but it's not realistic.

Rankellior · 20/01/2018 16:15

@buzzkillington how strenuous is today’s? I think I have pulled a chest muscle so anything full on is out but something like sedentary and meditative could be ok

DamnDeDoubtanceIsSpartacus · 20/01/2018 16:34

I found todays really slow with very little content, i did 12 after it to make up for the lack of ooomph.

BuzzKillington · 20/01/2018 16:44

Rankellior it's not strenuous today.

There's an eagle pose which is slightly challenging, but rest is
easy.

Happies · 20/01/2018 17:01

I am way behind and did day 3 today Blush
But hey, I'm doing it! That's the main thing x

Gumpendorf · 20/01/2018 17:37

Keep going Happies. It's worth it

I did 16 yesterday and 17 today and I really enjoyed both of them. I'm proud that I'm still doing it and enjoying it hugely. I was feeling low energy today and have had an ongoing inner dialogue about whether to do a session today, but now I'm glad I did.

As someone who has always been told to slow down, I'm enjoying getting into the slower pace. I feel calmer but still v stretched and fit. Its really helped to make a dark January tolerable for me.

This thread has been amazing at keeping me on track, and I'm in for Revolution in February!

Rankellior · 20/01/2018 17:38

Thanks buzz took it easy and missed a few bits but managed it.

DragonsAndCakes · 21/01/2018 08:12

Just did day sixteen, so with two real life classes I’ve done almost every day, which I’m happy with.

DamnDeDoubtanceIsSpartacus · 21/01/2018 08:41

I am finding it's really helping with my back and neck which can sometimes be painful. I'm strong and flexible nut have areas of weakness. It's confirmed Yoga is the way forward for me, it helps my mind and my body and I don't mind doing it even after a full day of work. Still love other workouts but this is about all of me, not just bits of me, better arms, better tummy etc.

I'm doing this, dry Jan and listening to a meditation on the Insight Timer app each day, 3 small changes but I feel great.

Keep going Happies, we're all on the same road. Smile
