Who's up for a thread to discuss our progress this year? We've had threads following Adriene's 30 days of Yoga for the last few years so sign up now for January.

Based on the last few years I'll warn you now: watch out for day 6!!!!

OP posts:

I loved day 8, I like the gentle but dynamic moves she does. I also like being a day behind so that I can do it early in the morning.

InfiniteSheldon · 10/01/2018 08:24

Just done day 7 first one I have really enjoyed

frenchfancy · 10/01/2018 08:31

Oops not sure what happened there!

AugustRose · 10/01/2018 10:15

I wasn't feeling great yesterday as I had a headache all day so have done Day 8 and 9 this morning, but I did them the back to front and feel so much better. I think day 8 will be good for me to do again before bed if I've had a stressful day, it really relaxed me.

quirkychick · 10/01/2018 11:39

Just done Day 8. My hips/hamstrings are a but sore thanks to a few days with lots of walking and Day 6 & 7, I did sit on 2 cushions (very keen not to repeat hamstring tendonitis from last year) for some of it and propped another cushion under sore knee with one leg bent, one straight, wide-legged pose (that's probably not the sanskrit word Grin).

I quite enjoyed it, but do find the trouble with the slower, more restorative sessions on the 30 day yoga packs are you are doing them when they come up, rather than because that's what you feel you need. I usually pick a yoga session based on what I feel like, quite often 20-25 mins because it fits easily into my day and often vinyasa flow yoga, so I get a good stretch etc, I would choose a slower paced, gentler one when I needed it, if I was tired, sore or unwell.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 10/01/2018 15:05

two and diy

I did beginners yoga last year-the teacher said for those of us struggling to get that leg forward-grab your ankle and move it up-over time you will build up to being able to do it without pulling it up, it worked for me Grin

GColdtimer · 10/01/2018 15:27

Thanks, that is what I do! I must look very elegant Hmm

I didn't receive my day 9 email (is that what we are on? Does anyone have the link? Thanks

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 10/01/2018 15:45

here is link.

I think one of the reasons I am enjoying this so much is no one can see so I am free-er to just do it however I need to.

Kikisdeliveries · 10/01/2018 16:44

Just done day 8 and feeling quite blissed out. I need to do some physio and then start thinking about feeding the hordes but I'm too chill!

Days 8 and 9 came at just the right time for me - both yesterday and today were long busy days at work and I had to force myself on to my mat when I got home late (am serval hours ahead of the UK) but I was so glad I’d done it.

smudgedlipstick · 10/01/2018 19:16

Ahh I found you guys a few days late! I am behind and will be doing Day 3 tonight 😳 wish I was up-to date so I could join in the discussion, I love Adrienne, I regularly practise yoga and she is one my my faves 🖤

TheQueenSnortsAvocados · 10/01/2018 19:55

Ouch. Don't know if it's Day 9 or 9 days, but I hurt today. My thighs in particular.

Feels good though!

I like having a good streak now, think it makes it less likely that I'll skip a day. Out of pure stubbornness if nothing else!

BuzzKillington · 10/01/2018 19:58

I enjoyed day 9 - everything felt right today, breathing, flow, balance.

Cherrypi · 10/01/2018 20:15

Enjoyed day 9. Wobbled a lot going up from one knee. I’m really looking forward to sessions now. Hope my posture is improving.

DragonsAndCakes · 10/01/2018 20:58

I’ve just done day seven. I think that was a pretty good day, but I find it just a bit quick. Sometimes by the time I’ve worked out the pose exactly she’s onto the next one, and I’m not quite getting the most out of it. But that’s fine for now.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 10/01/2018 21:41

Just did a relaxing day 8 accompanied by DH snoring on the sofa Grin

coffeecow · 10/01/2018 21:59

Just finished Day 9. I really wasn't in the mood today and I struggled to get focused, especially in the first half but...I showed up to my mat and all that and came away feeling better than when I started and that's kind of the point right?

Anyhoo...onto day 10 tomorrow (already!) From Day 12 I'm on holiday for a week so it will be interesting trying to keep up with it whilst in a hotel room - but I'm determined to see this through!

Kikisdeliveries · 10/01/2018 22:22

Day 9 done! I'm all caught up :)

frenchfancy · 11/01/2018 07:11

Day 9 done. It was a good one.

Littleredpoppy · 11/01/2018 07:21

Missed day 9 yesterday, had planned to do it after work (late shift) but was 1am when I finally got home, and couldn't face it. Planning to do 9 amd 10 back to back this morning.

quirkychick · 11/01/2018 07:27

Just done Day 9, sore hips/hamstrings here, so went gently, usually find lunges pretty ok but needed narrower legs today. I skipped the pigeon and did cross-legged forward fold instead.

I prefer doing it earlier, if possible.

GColdtimer · 11/01/2018 07:43

Cofffee I felt the same yesterday. Really enjoyed Day 9 and pigeon was way easier. I wobbled abut in lunges so balance a bit off but am feeling more flexible. And enjoying doing it after the kids have gone to bed, it's 30 mins or so for me without it involving flopping on the sofa to watch the tv. Looking forward to day 10

Well done everyone

Thehairthebod · 11/01/2018 07:48

Did day 9 last night - have got into a habit of doing it in my bedroom straight after putting the kids to bed, so I do sometimes get interrupted by drink/toilet requests, but if I went and sat back downstairs I would never get back up to do it! And there is no way I would do it in the morning!!!

Am loving it!

GColdtimer · 11/01/2018 09:15

Me too hair, the mat is in my bedroom so I am not tempted by the TV. Seems to work for me.
