Who's up for a thread to discuss our progress this year? We've had threads following Adriene's 30 days of Yoga for the last few years so sign up now for January.

Based on the last few years I'll warn you now: watch out for day 6!!!!

I didn't mind Day 8. Very different pace and much to my surprise, I did relax.

I’ve missed a few but did day 8 today anyway. My plan is to make a note of which ones I’ve missed and either do them when I’ve got some spare time or add them on once January ends. I quite enjoyed it today although there was a point in the middle when I was a bit bored. It felt like quite a while before it got going too.

Day 8...ahhhh. it was just what I needed. I suspect the pace may pick up from here though.

I was a bit too twitchy for todays, had to some other moves for the first 10 minutes as i just couldn't sit still and breath. Joined in for the last 20.

Am joining!

Day behind, just finished Day 7. I really liked the repetitiveness, I like getting in the groove and "finding my wave".

Things I really struggle with:
Getting my leg up from plank to the front. Can anyone tell me why this is?! Why is it to hard to move your leg all the way forward like that? I mean what muscle is preventing it?

Also struggle with forward fold, I have to bend my knees. I know she says thats no problem but it frustrates me.

I'm going to tag Day 8 which looks relaxing on after Day 9 tomorrow 😊

Did day 7 earlier just before tea (didn't want bangers and mash interfering with downward dog)

Stepping foot up from plank to lunge is one thing I can manage. Standing on one leg is my nemesis... tree feels impossible

Did 7 last night and again this morning. Just done 8, and enjoyed it more than expected. Liked having a bit more time in each pose. My lower back is so tight though- any ideas how I can loosen it up?

For lower back - twists either lying or seated, and just some simple pelvic tilts lying down or cat cow. I also find seated head to knee good, and reclined pigeon, and lying on your back and hugging one knee in at a time. Oh and hamstring stretches and maybe some back bends / bridge to strengthen! That's a lot, I'd start with lying twists!

I liked today's practice. But then I'm tired so it was just what. Needed.

I find cat/cow good for my lower back. And seated frwRd bend. I also struggle getting my leg up from plank/lunge. I have to give it a helping hand. Didn't used to struggle Confused

I was wondering the same thing about getting my foot up from lunge to the front. Mine's nowhere near. Confused

Am up to day 3. It's helping me with my anxiety more than I could have anticipated and I love it

littleredpoppy I have a tight lower back, and related tight hip and hamstrings. Reclined twists are great, physio also recommended bridge (if you have a block, supported bridge is good too), I now like forward bends but often start feet hip width apart and knees slightly bent but gradually straighten or get my feet together, squatting/sitting on the ground with a cushion(s) or block also helps stretch out the lower back as opposed to sitting on a chair which compresses it. I really struggle with pigeon, as it can aggravate my hamstring/knee tendons and sometimes substitute for sitting crossed legged and forward bending.

Did a Pilates class yesterday morning and then day 7 after work and 8 before bed. I'm so sore this morning! Perhaps I shouldn't be surprised 😂
