Who's up for a thread to discuss our progress this year? We've had threads following Adriene's 30 days of Yoga for the last few years so sign up now for January.

Based on the last few years I'll warn you now: watch out for day 6!!!!

I'm already behind, did day 2 this morning. Will try and fit in days 3&4 on Saturday then 5&6 on Sunday but mindful that shorter videos generally mean hatder work (6 pack abs on Sunday).

I am way behind, only did Day 1 this morning and oh do I ache. It's been a few months since I've done yoga and I feel like I'm right back at the beginning. I curse you Downward Dog

DragonsAndCakes · 06/01/2018 08:00

I hate that dog.

I’ve just done day four. I do like around twenty minutes rather than thirty!

RhinestoneCowgirl · 06/01/2018 08:36

Morning yoga, yeah! Just done day 4 - very wobbly boat!

Last session by the light of the Christmas tree, it's coming down today, bit sad to see it go (but more room for my mat)

quirkychick · 06/01/2018 08:51

I've just done Day 4 too. Yesterday, was a mad day of rushing around with chores shopping (we have 3 family birthdays in 3 days next week) and an early evening trip to the pantomime. On the plus side I notched up nearly 20,000 steps, but no chance for yoga.

I really struggle with the wide legged sitting at the best of times, but I'm so stiff now I can't even put my legs 90° apart! They did unstiffen a bit while I was doing it a bit, so hope for me yet.

frenchfancy · 06/01/2018 08:55

Day4 done. I really struggled with the wide legs leaning forward but the rest was fine ( shaky boat but I kept it).

Rankellior · 06/01/2018 09:04

Day 5 done as we’re out today so wanted to get it out the way before we head out. A bit more active and I was still half asleep but feel quite energised now. Certainly more movement compared to yesterday!

Littleredpoppy · 06/01/2018 09:46

Was on late shift last night, could really feel my lower back and hips. Hoping that they will improve as the month goes on. I noticed that I was making more of an effort to stand straight- I often let my shoulder round when I'm getting tired.
Huge list of hobs to get on with today- going to do day 5 first though and try to set myself up with some energy!

Ietthemeatcake · 06/01/2018 10:43

Just done day 5. First time doing in the morning as I need to leave for work normally before the video is released.
It felt so much better doing it now before eating and not still a bit bloated after my tea. Much more energised 😀
I don't think I will get Monday's practice in as I'm out of the house from 8.30am - 9.30pm that day, so I may fall a day behind them which will leave me able to do it before work each day.
Namaste all 🙏

Littleredpoppy · 06/01/2018 10:53

Didn't enjoy today so much, found it hard to follow the flow of the forward folds. Also, my shoulder didn't like the puppy pose, felt like something was catching. May do it again before bed and see if I am in a better frame of mind...

AugustRose · 06/01/2018 12:00

Day 5 done, I liked the slightly quicker pace today and feel like I do have more energy. Legs did get a bit wobbly on the humble warrior and I struggle with that quick breath, after the slow breathing it feels a bit alien.

Bring only Day 6!

AugustRose · 06/01/2018 12:01

Bring on - not only

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 06/01/2018 12:17

I struggled a bit with all the breathing at the end-to be fair I have very mild asthma and am just tailing off with a chesty cough but didn't love that bit. When I think too much about breathing I can't breathe Confused
I preferred yesterday but overall am loving it

Gumpendorf · 06/01/2018 12:23

Day 5 done!

I enjoyed it but then so far I've enjoyed all of them in different ways. Next week will be difficult as life starts again and I'll have to be uber disciplined to fit them in.

Really grateful for this thread as it keeps me on track. Thanks

WeAreGerbil · 06/01/2018 12:26

I've not done Day 5 yet, I did an hour or so at the gym this morning and I need to decide whether to still do yoga on my gym days. I like the idea of doing it daily, but I don't know whether that's a bit ambitious. I'm driving DD around now then going for a rare evening out later. I should be able to fit 20 mins in but will I not get the benefit through being a bit achy from weights? I don't know.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 06/01/2018 12:33

wearegerbil I would have thought if you had time today would be ideal after weights as stretchy and breathy....

gump me too!! You were feeling a bit stressed-hope this is helping?

randomsabreuse · 06/01/2018 12:54

I'm more into running than gym but find yoga is great for post run recovery to loosen off stiff muscles.

WeAreGerbil · 06/01/2018 13:01

Yeah doing it immediately after the gym would have been ideal, but had to make us breakfast and get DD off to dancing. I'll try later and see how it goes.

coffeecow · 06/01/2018 13:25

Had a surprise early finish at work today so I'm home alone for a few hours...I was freezing at work (outdoors mostly today) and have shamefully have slunk back into bed. Need some motivation to do day 5!

WeAreGerbil · 06/01/2018 13:34

Coffee day 5 is a shorter one, it would be a shame not to do it if you've done the first four, once you're on your mat you'll probably be happy to be doing it and you'll feel good afterwards. Does that help?!

MrsZB · 06/01/2018 13:54

I did Day 4 today and loved it.

Ietthemeatcake · 06/01/2018 14:23

gerbil I wondered whatever to do day 4 or not yesterday as I'd just been climbing for the first time in 3 weeks, but it was lovely to stretch out the chest. Didn't realise how much I needed it!

MyHairyToe · 06/01/2018 15:06

Loved Day 5, my favourite so far!

TheQueenSnortsAvocados · 06/01/2018 15:26

I'm not keen on the forward folds (that stomach again), and I skipped the silly panting at the end, but for all my complaining, I also preferred the slightly quicker pace.

I have regular lower back issues, but really noticed the difference with today's cobras! I got quite a stretch in.
