Who's up for a thread to discuss our progress this year? We've had threads following Adriene's 30 days of Yoga for the last few years so sign up now for January.

Based on the last few years I'll warn you now: watch out for day 6!!!!

Just done day 4 and agree it was lovely. I'm another one whose boobs get in the way Grin.

AugustRose · 05/01/2018 10:58

foodiefil I'm just easing myself back in with yoga then want to add some kickboxing/step (I'm a bit old school!) I found Dana Lee on Youtube last year and while she's a bit shouty, I really enjoy her workouts.

itssquidstella · 05/01/2018 12:00

I’ve just done day 4. I’m not finding it very challenging yet (I do quite a lot of yoga anyway) but I’m enjoying the stretching and the reminder to focus on my breathing - I do forget during faster Vinyasa sequences, so the slowed-down Hatha that Adriene does is quite a useful counterpoint.

Looking forward to it ramping up over the next few weeks!

foodiefil · 05/01/2018 12:09

Ahh ok thank you @AugustRose x

wondering that as well-does adriene have a daily yoga workout on youtube after this ends??

No - there's a reason that she only does this for one month a year, because it's a hell of a lot of content to put out for free.

You could do Revolution or 30 Days of Yoga, the January programmes from previous years, or you could work through her very extensive back catalogue on YouTube. She typically puts out one free video a week Feb-Dec, sometimes less.

Talisin · 05/01/2018 12:37

mumsie If you follow Adriene on twitter, she posts a calendar every month (although I think it’s designed by someone else) with a daily yoga workout compiled from various of her free sessions on youtube. There’s loads of them up there so the calender’s never the same.

BuzzKillington · 05/01/2018 13:29

Even though I don't enjoy 'real life' yoga much, this makes me realise the progress I have made. I'm hoping Adriene ramps it up too!

Gumpendorf · 05/01/2018 13:29

Day 4 done. I do more Pilates and this was more familiar. This is just the right level for me - challenging but comfortably so. I hope it doesn't ramp up too much, but then Pilates has taught me to only go as far as I can and it will come in time.

Shorter sessions for the weekend Grin

I'm loving this! Really appreciating this thread!

Rollerbird · 05/01/2018 15:48

I love adriene and the words she uses make me laugh.
Her saying 'bum' and 'sits bones' in particular!

Rankellior · 05/01/2018 16:57

Day 4 done. Feel lovely and relaxed now. Could do with a snooze.

Littleredpoppy · 05/01/2018 17:12

Loved today, my lower back feels really stretched out. Really tight across my hips in the twists though.

Just done day 4 - it was lovely and easy until that boat pose at the end that had me shaking.

TheQueenSnortsAvocados · 05/01/2018 20:35

I'm kind of with you fatrascals - I found today a bit, well, boring. I think it's having two 'slow' days in a row. I need the slow days to look forward to, to get me through the hard ones!

RhinestoneCowgirl · 05/01/2018 20:53

Meant to do day 3 this morning but it clashed with our grocery shopping delivery (didn't want to start and be interrupted halfway through) and then they were blooming well late anyway...

So did it when I got home from work (with a bit of 9yr old DD twittering around me). Forearm plank was hard! But generally a lovely session, and there was a point where there was a very satisfying clunking sound in my lower back (have been having pain) and it's feeling a lot better.

Looking forward to day 4 before breakfast tomorrow.

Kikisdeliveries · 05/01/2018 21:15

Day 4 was lovely. I'm much better at boat after a short light session than when we do it in yoga class after an hour of intense stuff!

Talisin · 05/01/2018 21:18

Day 4 done and I really enjoyed it. Feel very relaxed now which I needed after un-decorating/removing from stand/tossing over the balcony our seven foot Christmas tree all on my own.

mimiasovitch · 05/01/2018 21:22

I'm really enjoying True so far. I've especially liked the spine rolling and boat pose, as I've suffered for several years with coccyx pain, and the past few weeks are the first on along time where I've been able to do those sorts of moves without pain. Progress at last! I did shake quite a lot though Grin

GColdtimer · 05/01/2018 21:49

I enjoyed today's practice. My hip flexors felt a bit looser when I was sitting at the end. Looking forward to tomorrow's video.

WeAreGerbil · 05/01/2018 22:02

Thanks day 4ers for motivating me to stay in boat pose at the end!

coffeecow · 05/01/2018 23:00

Just finished Day 4. A nice easy one which to be honest I'm glad of as it's been a busy week. Anyone know what we have in store for tomorrow? I saw from the email it's called 'high' so I'm guessing a few warrior poses!

Also I really struggle with the poses where you lay on your back and your legs come to the side. The leg that's on 'top' always sort of hangs awkwardly in the air as I can't get it flat. I found the 'non crunching' bit hard because of this. I never really come cross that position in yoga unless I'm doing an Adriene video so maybe I'm just not understanding what she's doing!

Waddlelikeapenguin · 05/01/2018 23:06

Yay I have found my people Grin
Love Adrienne massive crush I started late but did day 3 this morning, lovely.
