I've started a new thread, as the old one seemed to have ended. Apologies if I have missed anyone.

I am having an absolute nightmare with this new system at the moment. It keeps rewinding for no apparent reason whilst I'm typing, login me out, freezing, sound is appalling, and typing is really slow on screen 🙄

Having the same issue. The software seems very unstable. Some days it's OK, others it does what everyone else is describing so I don't think it's my computer - however, it does seem to behave for a while after rebooting.

Any luck with the new system? Not been on here in a while but wondered how you were doing.
Ive taken the decision to get an independent keybroad and wireless mouse as opposed to using just the laptop and doing so as eased my pain dramatically to accommodate this nightmare of a system. Most days ok but does have its moment ie., automatically rewinds on too my re clicks if you trying to figure out a word/words and takes a while to reset itself but I find with my new equipments life is much less painful

I recently picked up a task where the dictator is asking can you see this msg if so I will continue using the old system!!! So are they running two systems or just still trying to sort out the new with all them issues we are having.

On the other hand my workflow is pretty steady no complaints there except for the standard the sound effects, accents, new doctors who you have no way of how to even begin to spell their names

I was assuming it was my wifi that was playing up. This seems to happen mainly in the mid afternoon - recording still plays but what I am typing does not appear and I have to stop and wait - sometimes its there, sometimes it isn't. I use a PC with wireless keyboard and mous and it is slightly better on that than when I use my chromebook. However, as someone else said, the amount of work seems to be increasing which is good. Probably depends on your specialties though.

I have noticed it rewinds itself randomly. Several times I've been typing and think hang on I've just typed that? weird.
It also freezes and does not take me to the transcribing page but tells me I have selected the task. Very annoying.
I agree that work has picked up but unfortunately the downside being most of my tasks are whispered at the moment. Can't win

Tpro is a different company to DICT8 but some typists work for both

@Gally123 ahhh I understand. Is it easy to get into?

@fedup2701 it's voice recognition work and people are expected to do all specialties. It's an Irish company. As to easy to get into, it depends if they are recruiting or not.

Just to mention a couple of petitions people may be interested in. I'm not posting the links as last time someone asked me to do that the admins did not like it.

The first petition is for everyone over the age of 60 to get a free bus pass - just like in the "old" days - and as people living in London do now. (And also I believe Wales and Scotland). This would benefit many people who rely on buses financially, and also remove a few drivers off roads, which I thought the government etc were always interested in doing. The petition aims to bring people living outside London to get the same benefit of a free bus pass.
The second petition is for MPs to lose some of their expenses that they get paid on top of their huge salaries with annual pay rises, to pay for the Pensioners Winter Fuel Allowance.
You can find these petitions easily via google. Both are nearing end dates I think and have huge support but need a bit more to get a proper hearing and debate by the government.

I queried the issues with DICT8 a while ago and they said it may be to do with chrome. They said to do the following - "Please clear your internet history including cookies and cache, then restart your PC. As you use Chrome as your browser, clearing the history will default to the past hour – please change this to ‘all time’." Its definitely improved.

@Indiepops I thought they recommended Chrome as the browser of choice and never had any email to suggest anything different.

@Gally123 I've always used chrome too. You'd have thought they would have said something when they started using the new system as I expect most of us use chrome. .

They don't communicate anything to us these days. Gone are the days of monthly newsletters.

Just proves the ignorance of this company that they don't acknowledge us anymore 🙄If it wasn't for the convenience around caring for a relative I would have told this lot to do one years ago. Alas, I smile sweetly while I'm typing the crap that's coming through my headphones ever grateful 😂

I have a ? Theres a dictator for some time now gives only the name, ref and then the tape ends. Would this be a voice recognition style of work ? As nothing else is being typed

Does anyone else have DICT8 App on phone just to check on available work? I have the App but no matter how I try I cannot get it to accept the authentication code. Am I missing a trick as I know you only get 30 seconds, so by the time I have the code, gone back into DICT8 App and retyped username and password, it won't accept it.

@Cherryblossom114 I have had that with new dictators who aren't used to the system, give brief details and then cut themselves off. Usually after the first half dozen goes they get used to it.

Otherwise, my other thought might be someone using a template letter but forgetting to say which or thinking all patients get the same letter so they don't need to give details, for example I've had in Vascular where (usually the nurses) they say patient name and number, and then please use standard patient AAA letter.

Is anyone else still having problems with the "new" system? When I've been working solidly for a couple of hours my typing doesn't appear on the screen and the redording appears to stop although the voice is still going. If I keep my foot on the pedal it catches up with me after about 5-10 seconds - usually - sometimes the recording just stops and will not play. I then have to log out and log back in to get back to my work. Luckily it will still save. Is it just me?

Okay, thanks for that, hes a Rheu veteran usually has long clear letters happy to transcribe but for reasons unknown hes been doing this.

System is well and truly screwed up. One of the issues for me is when you go and pick up a task after finishing one it does not take you back on to the typing screen I have to log out and log back in again then it says tasks has been recovered....

@Cherryblossom114 I had something similar where I would click on a new task and nothing happened, it would freeze and I'd log out and then in again and I'd have the task. Sometimes also when I've started typing several lines the yellow box appears which says someone else has this task and it all freezes. I then log in again and I've still got the task. This one seems to have been cured by deleting the browers history and restarting. I'll give them their due, they are trying really hard to get to the bottom of my issues. That's why I wondered if anyone else is having problems and have they told DICT8?
