CQC interview

Ainsleysbbqbible · 29/02/2024 17:31

Hello!
I am a usual Mumsnetter, but changed username.

I had an interview with CQC for a inspector role just over two weeks ago, they said they'd be in touch either way by end of last week or beginning of this week. The portal says my application is "in review" and no change since before interview.

How long shall I give it until I follow up, or shall I even follow it up at all? It's a job I've wanted for a while but I'm unsure of what the realistic timescales are with these sorts of organisations!

Thanks

Thank you! Whereabouts are you in the process?

Also does anyone know the guarantee of a conditional offer after a successful interview? It just feels quite bitter sweet bc it's one step closer but still not a formal offer yet

I’ve completed my right to work check and waiting for onboarding to contact me to get the process going, it just feels so slow and clunky!
My conditional offer just says that I need to complete my right to work and then my onboarding checks to progress my offer.
I may be wrong but I think the Directors look to see who can go into what team, I think I was just very fortunate in that I live in an area they are prioritising. Completely understand your frustration!

So happy things are falling into place for you! :) wishing you a speedy rest of the process and start date

I guess I will just need to be patient and wait to see what happens next. It's been a slow recruitment process so I'm getting used to it anyway.

Thank you!

Have you heard anything else in relation to a conditional offer?

RobertJohnsonsShoes · 28/02/2025 20:16

Amazing! I had an interview many years ago and it was so unbelievably stressful I passed out on the way home.

Sorry to hear that. did you get the job in the end ? That sounds like something that can happen to me . I intend to apply for the current positions.

No I didn’t but I’m glad now. It wasn’t right for me and I stayed in statutory/local authority. The pay is so much better, I don’t think CQC pay well at all when you look how much my own LA pays and also the progression

Mmoyo · 01/03/2025 19:13

Fair enough and what matters is you are happy where you are. I am looking for flexibility mainly. Yes i agree about “progression”.

Absolutely nothing :(

Can I ask, how long from closing date of the advert did you hear anything?

Hi, I roughly heard back 6 weeks after the closing date. This was during the Christmas/New Year period however so they did explain that's why it took longer.

Which sector/region have you applied for? Best of luck 😁

Thanks very much - secondary care. I'm in Herts which seems to be one of the areas they need but I won't hold my breath! 😂

It seems as though they've extended the deadline till 31st March so you may not hear till after this. Don't lose hope, it's a very slow process which you eventually get used to!

Good to know!!
How are you finding things?
Thanks again

I received a call today and I've got a conditional offer! I've been sent an email with the RTW link to submit my documents and then awaiting onboarding with HR.

That's amazing! Wow you really skipped ahead there, you must be so relieved:)

I'm so pleased, I honestly thought it was going to be a long wait but again it looks as though I'm in an area they are prioritising.

Fingers crossed you get some good news soon 🤞🏻

Congrats. What area and what are you inspecting. I can only tell you what a friend told me and that is you can work flexibly apart from when on inspection. Some inspections go in to the evening depending on the setting. The ads so say that part time and flexible working can be considered.

Thank you. It’s for ASC London and East of England . Is there anyone else in this area? Wishing everyone waiting to hear the best of luck.

Congratulations on your conditional offer!!

I completed my right to work and then there was a delay of about 10 days before I heard anything else. This week I was sent all of my onboarding paperwork (links and documents) and I had to go to the post office to have my identity documents checked.
Its slowly progressing, hopefully my DBS won’t take too long to come back.

have you had your documents sent through yet?

Thank you I was so pleased it wasn't a long wait.

I completed my RTW on Monday, then had an ID Call yesterday to check my documents. She said I've passed ID checks so my file would be passed to HR but not heard anything yet she did say most likely a week or so.

We're both based in ASC South so we may even be on induction together 😁

How long after you have submitted your written exercise did you hear back? I have been waiting for 2 weeks now and applied for ASC london

It was about 3.5 weeks for me until I heard back.

Fingers crossed everything progresses quickly for you, do you have a preference of when you’d like to start?

it would be so lovely if we could maybe create some kind of group chat for those of us who are starting for a bit of support.
