CQC interview

Hello!
I am a usual Mumsnetter, but changed username.

I had an interview with CQC for a inspector role just over two weeks ago, they said they'd be in touch either way by end of last week or beginning of this week. The portal says my application is "in review" and no change since before interview.

How long shall I give it until I follow up, or shall I even follow it up at all? It's a job I've wanted for a while but I'm unsure of what the realistic timescales are with these sorts of organisations!

@Yawninmum yep! I rang today and was told “this week” but I’ve been told that most weeks lol x

I'll try tomorrow... I still could be waiting to find out I was unsuccessful😂

This is my fear. All this pushing for an answer and then they turn round and say ‘oh yeah it’s a no’ 😂

@Nurseposter123Im Oxfordshire too! I’ve been told I will be in team 3- Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. I think my start date will be beginning of November or January though as I was told they enrol 2 monthly and I will miss the September one as no checks, references requested by CQC yet plus I will have to work my notice so if they don’t start soon I’ll be waiting ages! Can’t wait though

Hi All,
I want to say thank you to this group, over the last 3 months, you have all kept me updated that I wasn't the only one waiting to hear following a successful interview. Well the wait is over, after multiple telephone calls to chase, checking emails daily, wondering what was taking so Iong, and keeping the hope. Well today I have been informed that unfortunately there are no positions in my geographical area. I have agreed to be placed on the waiting list for 12 months. Thanks to everybody posting their updates, as this has stoped me over thinking and knowing it wasn't only me. I applied for the North West, as i know I may get asked and received the email notification today. Wishing everyone waiting to hear all the best and congratulations to all who have been offered positions.

Well that sucks, so sorry that you have had to wait so long for that response, however let's keep everything crossed for something over the next 12 months. Xx

@Peg1980 im so sorry. That’s a really difficult outcome. To have passed but then there is no position. I hope that something comes up quickly for you x

I am disappointed to report that I too have received an email informing me that despite passing their benchmark there are currently no positions available in my geographical area and I have been placed on a reserve list for 12 months. I am beyond devastated. Good luck to everyone who is waiting to hear and I hope you get a more positive outcome x

That’s so frustrating that that is your outcome for you and @Peg1980 . On the one hand, great you know you reached their benchmark, on the other they’ve not actually offered the position they advertised! I’m still waiting for a response but I’m not optimistic knowing they’ve put others in my area on the wait list! Also makes me think there are so many people leaving that they even have a wait list to fill positions as a contingency?!

Wow, sorry to read no posts. Does a 12 .month wait list mean you will get a job offer or does.it depend? Was this for inspector in northwest? Can't believe they are completely fully staffed but the recruitment drive has been a big one I suppose

Mine was London and east of England. There is no guarantee at the end of the 12 months 😔

Mine was the North West, whats been difficult is waiting 13 and half weeks to be told the news. I think a restructure has taken place, along side the recruitment. Once again, best of luck to those who have been offered positions.

Only just found this thread very useful waited 3 months for interview outcome and been offered a inspector post north west. Was reading how long people waited for a conditional offer - I have to give 8 weeks notice in my current role so dosent look like I will start until after Christmas. Have you started in post yet ?

Hi, I waited a couple of weeks for the conditional offer….once I received my formal offer I was advised that they had induction training running at the beginning of Oct and November but I have to give 3 months notice so am not starting till 19th January. They said that they like you to start a week before the induction training which is 26th January.

I started my application in February so it’s been a long old process but am really excited to start.

so sorry to those who have been told that there are no vacancies - it’s rough to go through all that and no job at the end of it…. I really hope they find you something soon xx

I heard last Friday took alot has taken months to hear anything. Desperate for more info now so can hand in my notice as currently work in an ICB who are making redundancies with no news on this since March so fed up with the uncertainty. Sorry for those who did not get offered a post this time around

Had a phone call last Friday. Nothing seems to happen very quickly good luck hope you have good news soon

It seems to run at a quicker pace once you have someone allocated to you in HR that you can chase if needed so hopefully you will hear soon 😊
