CQC interview

Hello!
I am a usual Mumsnetter, but changed username.

I had an interview with CQC for a inspector role just over two weeks ago, they said they'd be in touch either way by end of last week or beginning of this week. The portal says my application is "in review" and no change since before interview.

How long shall I give it until I follow up, or shall I even follow it up at all? It's a job I've wanted for a while but I'm unsure of what the realistic timescales are with these sorts of organisations!

Thanks

Thanks for this. I found out today I passed and have been allocated a team but I wouldn't have thought to call so appreciate the tip!

Congratulations. Could you please share some possible questions for this inspector role if you don't mind?

For my interview, I was asked about a time where I had to adapt to change, how I would react if there was an immediate risk during an inspection, why I want to work for CQC, a time I had to analyse data and a time I worked as a team. Good luck!

I called recruitment today! I passed the interview! They said it’s now with Directors to see if there are spaces in my area. Here’s hoping! 🤞🏼

Congratulations! Can I ask what number you called to get through? X

Thank you so much. Can you remember what your assessment was about?

Titasaducksarse · 23/07/2025 17:02

Hi.
It was 7 weeks from interview to outcome with CIW (Welsh equivalent to CQC)!

It’s a big case example really so can’t really sum up briefly. You have to write up an inspection report as though you are an inspector but they give you all the materials you need. I’d advise looking up legislation Cqc use and Cqc inspections of care agencies and care homes for ideas!

Hi
I have emailed CQC today for an update. They replied to say they will get back. I checked on the application status, it said it is closed and it was updated today.
Does that mean I didn't get through?

ASC inspector role

Fingers crossed you get the outcome you want

They usually do a timed online assessment as part of the process. Has that happened? I was an inspector for six years. I hope it works out for you.

Was the assessment report writing?

Was the assessment report writing?

It was a timed analysis of a situation, where there were risks to consider and a requirement to triangulate evidence to reach decisions.

Alright. To be honest, I'm just anxious. I'm thinking of how to prepare for it.😊

To be honest, I’m not sure you can really prepare for it. Read up on ‘triangulation’ of evidence in decision making and be clear what that means and then trust your judgement on the day. Good luck 🤞
