CQC interview

Hello!
I am a usual Mumsnetter, but changed username.

I had an interview with CQC for a inspector role just over two weeks ago, they said they'd be in touch either way by end of last week or beginning of this week. The portal says my application is "in review" and no change since before interview.

How long shall I give it until I follow up, or shall I even follow it up at all? It's a job I've wanted for a while but I'm unsure of what the realistic timescales are with these sorts of organisations!

Thanks

@Kymrai just wondering how are you getting on with your onboarding? I haven't heard anything since the initial email with the pre-employment forms 2 weeks ago (I filled them out the same day). I sent them an email last week to follow up but no response yet.

@ImWithYou

They sent me the forms last week and on Thursday. My onboarding person phoned me and asked me to submit as soon as I could.
I have just completed them today and on the email it says that as soon as I submit the forms they will be contacting HR for references.
Have you been given an allocated onboarding person? If so chase it up.

fingers crossed for you….. i also applied for the London and east of England inspector role….. I think they are probably waiting for all interviews to take place before they inform people if they have been successful or not…… good luck to you x

Thank you, all the best to you.

Yes I've been 6 weeks now waiting.

I have to say it's been really hard - I wish they would have said the wait would be this long when I interviewed. I feel like I'm putting so much on hold like other job opportunities waiting and it wasn't clear.

It also makes me unsure if I want to work for an organisation that works like this..

I applied for the job in Nov 2024, written assessment was at the end of Jan, Oral interview in March and my Start date is in September. So the wait is long and only works for you of you are not in a rush to leave your current role.

Lady74 · 07/07/2025 21:47

Blimy! 😳😂

I would have to give 3 months notice in my current job as well! …. Retirement may come sooner at this rate 🙈

Lady74 · 08/07/2025 13:46

I emailed recruitment again today explaining that I hadn’t heard anything since my interview on 19th May and within a few hours they called me to say I had been successful …… so all of you still waiting don’t lose hope and maybe give them a nudge 🥰

xxMsFxx · 08/07/2025 16:59

@Lady74 yay! Congratulations!! Really pleased for you! I had an email today saying they hope to let me know either way within two weeks! I am praying for a positive outcome too!

Hey, can I just ask what the written assessment consists of ? Thank you! Well done on getting the job 😊

Lady74 · 08/07/2025 17:31

@ImWithYou
HR contacted me on Thursday requesting I give consent to my current employer for reference. They also sent me link to complete DBS.
Anymore progress for you?

I haven’t heard anything since last Wednesday when they told me I’d been successful……. How long did you guys wait until HR contacted you?

They contacted me earlier this week. My DBS is sorted so it's just my references that we're waiting on now. Hopefully then I can discuss a start date. Feel so relieved things are finally moving forward!

@ImWithYou oh wow! That is quick! Probably the quickest part of the whole process lol 😂

How is everyone coping with the waiting? I’m really struggling with it, constantly checking my emails etc. it’s a job that I really want so I’m obviously living in hope for a positive result but finding it really difficult because I don’t want to keep living in hope if it’s a no (hope that makes sense) so just wondering what you have all been doing to deal with that wait while you have been waiting to hear if you’re successful or not? Thanks in advance (working on my patience skills lol)

I really struggled the first couple of weeks checking the portal and keeping my phone on loud but I'm 7 (yes SEVEN) weeks post interview and have given up a bit just waiting

xxMsFxx · 14/07/2025 13:32

@Nurseposter123 7 weeks? Oh my goodness! I had an email last week saying they “hope” to give an outcome within two weeks (and that feels like forever). I am literally checking my emails and the portal several times a day! I hope you get an answer soon, the waiting is just so tough isn’t it? X

Hi! Hope you don’t mind me jumping on! I had my interview today and like you feel like did I answer enough! Hoping and praying I did! This is the dream job! Just wondered how you’re getting on?

So sorry I didn’t see this! I’ve been in post over a month now and loving it! Keeping everything crossed for you! Everyone has been super welcoming, there’s lots of support and also lots of flexibility.

Deebies · 16/07/2025 11:33

@253011M hi just jumping on this thread, I went to the assessment for Registration Inspector on Tuesday last week, not heard anything yet, have you managed to get an update at all? Fingers crossed!!

253011M · 16/07/2025 11:41
