CQC interview

Hello!
I am a usual Mumsnetter, but changed username.

I had an interview with CQC for a inspector role just over two weeks ago, they said they'd be in touch either way by end of last week or beginning of this week. The portal says my application is "in review" and no change since before interview.

How long shall I give it until I follow up, or shall I even follow it up at all? It's a job I've wanted for a while but I'm unsure of what the realistic timescales are with these sorts of organisations!

Thanks

I had my interview today for an inspector role but the closing date is June 30th so might be waiting a while to hear if I’ve been successful. They did tell me they didn’t know when I would hear to be fair

Holski · 25/06/2025 20:24

Anyone else apply for Oxfordshire area?

xxMsFxx · 26/06/2025 00:52

@Holski How did you find it? I have been told I have an interview but don’t know a date yet. I always get nervous about interviews and don’t want to mess up!

Holski · 26/06/2025 05:51

@xxMsFxx It wasn’t too bad but then again a spent many hours revising by watching current and what I thought important vlogs, webinars and YouTube videos on CQC. They want you to demonstrate your experience by examples and also a few scenario based questions where you can explain what you would do in those situations. Same sort of things you would get asked in any health and social care job but more on the lines of problem solving. Hope that helps

xxMsFxx · 26/06/2025 06:42

@Holski thanks so much. That has helped. I’m hoping I can prepare myself more now and not lose my words! Good luck, please do let us know if you’re successful. X

Holski · 26/06/2025 08:25

@xxMsFxx thank you and good luck to you also. I am waiting to start another job in 2 weeks which I accepted months ago but only because CQC application- written assessment- interview process so slow. I thought I had been unsuccessful at CQC because I heard nothing for months, then was told I passed written assessment, then told I hadn’t and then they practically ghosted me and then had an interview so I kept my other job rolling in the back ground. I will be disappointed if I don’t get CQC one but still have a new job to start if it’s not meant to be.

you can only do your best in life and I’m fine with that 😊

xxMsFxx · 26/06/2025 08:58

@Holski oh my goodness to be told you passed then you didn’t! I have completed my written assessment, emailed Tuesday for an update and had a response confirming I had passed the benchmark and will be contacted for interview but nothing yet! I do not understand why it is such a long process! Surely if they’re hiring it’s because they need people? Having said that I have read posts where someone is told they have passed both interview and written assessment to then be told there’s no current jobs in their area. Which I think is very unfair. Hopefully we will both get through and be offered something! X

Hi, just jumping on here to ask if anyone has had an interview for cqc registration inspector role? Thank you

ThePoliteViper · 04/07/2025 14:26

Hi, thank you to everyone for sharing your experiences. I submitted my written assessment on June 16th. Emailed them to check and received an email today stating they have received a large number of applications and were asked to wait to hear from them.

Lady74 · 04/07/2025 17:54

Will keep my fingers crossed for you all….. I had my interview on 19th may and am still waiting to hear 🙈

253011M · 04/07/2025 20:59

Which post did you go for ? Inspector ? What happens at the assessment day ?

Lady74 · 05/07/2025 06:25

I went for inspector role for London/East of England area. There isn’t an assessment day as such just a written assignment and interview over Teams…. All the best with your application ☺️

253011M · 05/07/2025 09:19

Ahhh ok, good luck am sure you did great. I have applied for a registrations inspector role and I am going to an assessment day next week in Manchester which consists of a written exercise and an interview so I wanted to see if anyone had any idea what the written assessment might be?

Lady74 · 05/07/2025 12:22

Oh ok…. The role I applied for is different then……. Hopefully someone can give you some tips 🥰

xxMsFxx · 07/07/2025 13:48

@Lady74 and @Holski have either of you had an update yet? I had my interview today! Was so nervous but the ladies were lovely. Hope and pray I answered well enough. The waiting is going to kill me x

Lady74 · 07/07/2025 13:56

Hi….. well done for getting to the end of your interview ☺️

I still haven’t heard after 7 weeks of waiting so have been looking around for other jobs now but still hoping they let me know the outcome at least.

Thought I’d jump on after following for a few weeks. I had an interview for adult social care inspector south last Wednesday. I heard today I had a conditional offer and the directors have allocated me to a team ( I think I’m in an area they are prioritising) so I’m really hoping it’s not a long wait! fingers crossed for those of you who are waiting to hear back to.

Hi! Hope you don’t mind me jumping on! I had my interview today and like you feel like did I answer enough! Hoping and praying I did! This is the dream job! Just wondered how you’re getting on?

ThePoliteViper · 07/07/2025 14:51

My interview is next week. Reading all your posts, the processing time for each stage seems longer than usual. I have applied for the ASC inspector position in London and the East of England. Preparing for the interview; hopefully, all goes well.

Lady74 · 07/07/2025 15:42

fingers crossed for you….. i also applied for the London and east of England inspector role….. I think they are probably waiting for all interviews to take place before they inform people if they have been successful or not…… good luck to you x

Yes I've been 6 weeks now waiting.

I have to say it's been really hard - I wish they would have said the wait would be this long when I interviewed. I feel like I'm putting so much on hold like other job opportunities waiting and it wasn't clear.

It also makes me unsure if I want to work for an organisation that works like this..
