CQC interview

Ainsleysbbqbible · 29/02/2024 17:31

Hello!
I am a usual Mumsnetter, but changed username.

I had an interview with CQC for a inspector role just over two weeks ago, they said they'd be in touch either way by end of last week or beginning of this week. The portal says my application is "in review" and no change since before interview.

How long shall I give it until I follow up, or shall I even follow it up at all? It's a job I've wanted for a while but I'm unsure of what the realistic timescales are with these sorts of organisations!

Thanks

Ooh fingers crossed we won't have to wait much longer then. Which region did you apply for?

Hi, I hope you have received an update about your application. I received a call and was offered the role on the 25th of April. Did my ID verification last week Monday, and was told that the onboarding team will contact me, since then I haven’t received any response.

@ImWithYou not a peep yet! I’m so impatient I don’t know how I’ve survived this long!

I've had an email this afternoon to say they are still interviewing over the next few weeks so won't hear outcome just yet.

I had an email to, saying they are still interviewing. What area did you apply for? Mine was Midlands

ImWithYou · 07/05/2025 21:34

I'm Midlands also. Must be a fairly big recruitment drive for them to interview over so many weeks.

I also had the email and also midlands.
I have to admit my heart sank when I noticed it as I immediately assumed it would be a rejection, so pleased it wasn’t!

It wasn't too bad. I managed to keep my nerves in check which I was surprised about but I'll put that down to the interview panel putting me at ease from the start. I had lots of examples prepped using the STAR format which came in handy. How did you find it?

I suffer with brain fog so although I had prepared using star examples to, my mind was going blank at times.
I think I answered the questions okay and yes that was because the interviewers putting me at ease.
hopefully we will find out soon x

Hi all, I have been reading this thread for a while and decided to post….. I passed the case study and had my interview yesterday for asc inspector and was told that I would hear once all interviews are completed…. Bit worried though as they are still advertising so hoping I won’t have to wait until they are interviewed too 🙈…. It’s been a very loooong process x

Lady74 · 20/05/2025 12:09

I applied for asc inspector London and East of England. Felt like it wnemt ok…. There were a couple of questions that I struggled a bit with and not sure I gave enough….. I’m not good at waiting 😂😂

Awww, well done!
my interview was really bad but they told me I had passed the benchmark. So you never really know how well you done till they let you know the outcome.

fingers crossed x

Lady74 · 20/05/2025 18:42

Guess I just have to be patient…. Well done on your success though 🥰

I think everybody beats themselves up after interview wishing they had done more x

ImWithYou · 06/06/2025 16:54

Anyone else feeling really impatient now? It's been 8 weeks since my interview, I'm desperate to find out!

mrwebbi · 06/06/2025 17:20

OK, found this thread and it has been very helpful to me.

I applied for an inspector role in November. Had an interview early January. Finally got a conditional offer of a role first week of April. It is now well in to June and I STILL have had no contact from HR about 'onboarding'. I have spoken to the recruitment dept a few times and whilst lovely, are not able to help at all as it is all with HR once the offer is given. They did say there was quite a backlog, but couldn't do more than send a message to ask them to contact me. Which they haven't.

Can't help but wonder if I want to work for an organisation that treats people like this. I understand they are understaffed and under resourced, but surely prioritising recruitment would help?

I am in the North West.

Same here! Judging by other posts, I have a feeling even once we’ve found out, those who are successful will have more waiting to do.

Congrats on being successful! That is a very long process. I can understand your frustrations. I’m almost at 9 weeks waiting for my interview outcome. I’m very glad I have a job already that I am in no ways immediately desperate to leave, although I am hoping to move on soon.

Lady74 · 07/06/2025 09:43

I am 3 weeks following interview now. I emailed recruitment but no response so far but sounds like I may have a very long wait anyway from your posts.

I really want the job though so will try and be patient 😂…… just wish they would let people know either way to put them out of their misery!

ImWithYou · 07/06/2025 10:50

I totally understand the frustration @mrwebbi It's such a long, drawn out process. I've had a couple of opportunities arise in my current job that I've had to put on hold until I hear the outcome of this. I guess we just have to continue to play the waiting game and hope we hear back soon.
