@cathyk2002 Worth a go, the work is very straight forward, very clear, and good support should you need it.

Just applied so will see what happens 🤞 Thanks for the heads up

Chrissols · 27/07/2023 15:34

Just picked a task up that was just over one minute, and it was purely a message to go in the notes box - I don't flippin think so........

Gally123 · 27/07/2023 18:44

@Chrissols yep, I put those back as well (unless it is the very end of the month and I am desperate for the extra 8p for putting the date to make up my quota)

Lunnuni · 28/07/2023 08:43

Hi, I have had enough work from T pro this month although I think their 3 am message each night saying there are thousands of jobs is likely computer generated fiction. Work is very scarce on Dict8 at all times it seems. I had a reply from the EAS about my contract saying (of course) that Dict8 does not meet the definition of an employment agency or employment business and therefore there is no comeback. Not heard back yet about T pro. I don't know how the Uber case worked, I may ask EAS to explain the difference.

Lunnuni · 28/07/2023 09:04

I decided to look at the Uber case and read a legal blog about it. It seems to me the EAS have fobbed me off and not really considered matters properly as the Court said the contract is only part of what is to be considered. I have written back to Helen Morgan saying I'm not really satisfied with their response and including the url of the legal blog.

Lovemydaxie · 28/07/2023 09:05

Dict8 is dire at the moment, hardly any work this week. Interestingly, I work a couple of days at a private hospital and we had an email from Dict8 asking if we needed help with transcription! Obviously touting around for business.

cathyk2002 · 28/07/2023 11:47

I've been not too bad for work, suppose it depends on the speciality you do and how busy they are. Have some quiet moments then get a burst for a while but usually after 4/4.30 lots seem to appear

Gally123 · 28/07/2023 11:49

@Lunnuni thanks for keeping us updated. It seems that everyone keeps fobbing us and we go round in circles. I wonder if it is partly due to the fact that most typists will be female (and most taxi drivers male) hence the difference in consideration and reasoning. Second class citizens.

Agreed! It is a letter/memo and not our own comments for the notebox. It certainly should be in the main letter field and paid for!

I agree with your comment @@Gally123 , plus the fact that transcription work is under the radar, no one knows what it is, and if they do they think we run our own companies and make lots of money and don't realise that most of us work for these 'agencies' (that's what they are in disguise if you ask me), but everyone knows Uber as they are high profile, out there on the streets nationwide, whereas are we are hidden in the web and are kept apart unless we connect on forums of course and even then we are anonymous.

Thanks everyone for your comments in reply to my question about the work on DICT8. They do seem to be getting pushed out of the market, unsurprisingly.

Chrissols · 29/07/2023 12:39

@Whitestar55 Definitely getting pushed out the market I think - the work is nearly at pandemic level - well it is at weekends anyway, whereas others still seem to be doing fine.

Just done a multi-letter & had one CC to be sent as e-mail, just left it on body of letter as CC under Dr's name & did note to Seccy saying just to e-mail it - wasn't doing all that & not getting paid for it !!!!

Pinksville · 30/07/2023 11:12

@cathyk2002 absolutely agree with you.
There's a cost of living crisis and this company continue to act like they are in the dark age !!! No pay rise since forever, payment by cheque (not great for the environment for many reasons and not great for us for hundreds of reasons, plus it's a Coutts cheque !!!) Bullying people, and the expectation to work for nothing.

I have had numerous tasks just in note form in the past but I have typed them as letters then looked at the line count and the money you lose over time soon adds up - try it !!!! Is that legal ?

YellowBellyLola · 31/07/2023 13:25

I am so fed up of being paid by cheque. I submitted my invoice early last Tuesday morning (before the working day started), invoice processing Wednesday morning and then nothing. Four and half working days since I submitted - why has it not been issued? I go on holiday on Thursday morning, before the postman would have been, so at this rate I'm not even going to get it before I go away and even if I do, it won't be cleared until I am half way through my holiday. Absolutely ridiculous.

Newinmarch22 · 31/07/2023 15:52

I asked recently if they were considering paying us by bank transfer, they didn't even have the common decency to acknowledge my enquiry.

danblack87 · 31/07/2023 17:25

@YellowBellyLola To answer your question re. late payment of chq. I queried exactly the same thing with Dict8: please note below the response

"As per your signed agreement our payments terms do state that your invoice will be processed within 28 days from receipt of your invoice, however we do always aim to process invoices as quickly as possible.

At this time, we have no plans to move to BACs payments"

i.e. we are not expected to be paid for a previous month of work within that month as per the contract we signed .... unbelievable. I asked about BACS payments of course due to delays re. chq clearing and answer above. I also put my invoice in last Tuesday and today it is showing as still processing. Apparently it should be on the 'next payment run' ??whenever that may be although they do try to get payments out as quicly as possible!!!!

Billybea · 31/07/2023 17:42

I thought their terms state that they like the invoices to be submitted at the beginning of the month so to be fair I’ve never sent them until the 31st so they are ready for their pay run on the 1st. I’ve been “lucky” on the odd occasion where they have actually issued the cheque on 30th or 31st as it’s the last day of the month but it’s rare!

Pinksville · 01/08/2023 08:10

Far to easy to have BACS DICT8 !!!! press a few buttons when you receive an invoice and voila 🙄

Chrissols · 01/08/2023 08:44

I still can’t get over how few tasks there are on Dict8….they must have lost an awful lot of contracts

Thanks for the info. I didn't realise the contract said that - I signed it so long ago. Maybe I should re-read it, although it won't change anything.

Yes, it does state that they like their invoices to be sent at the beginning of the month but I like being paid at the beginning of the month, especially when I am going on holiday. If we are not employed by them, they cannot tell us when to submit our invoices. Apparently they can just withhold paying us for 28 days instead...

I normally always submit around 26th /27th and tend to get the cheque issued within a day or two. I've had longer waits before, but this is the longest by far.

Lovemydaxie · 01/08/2023 13:10

@Chrissols I agree, I've never known so few tasks except during Covid and I think there were actually more then. I've got 4 specialities and there's hardly anything. Very worrying 😟
