Yep, hard to make out some of it, especially the foreign doctors. Feel guilty if I have to note more than one word I can't make out 🙄

Chrissols · 02/06/2023 15:53

@Newinmarch22 You are not kidding.....I have just had a quick look/listen and not bothering as the time it would take to work out what is being said would make it peanuts

Pinksville · 02/06/2023 17:58

Same pitiful dictation/English for me today. Just gave up not worth it

Glad I'm not the only one then 🙄

I wrote to my MP saying we were underpaid as a majority female occupation (true all round) and as gig workers and that pay not gone up for years. I did not name the companies but told her the rates of pay. Here is her reply:

Many thanks for your email of 25th May 2023, in which you raise your concerns about rates of pay and the employment status of medical transcribers working for the NHS.

I agree that there seem to be inequalities surrounding this issue, and that the self-employed status would appear to be facilitating the ability to pay transcribers below the minimum wage.

I have forwarded your concerns to the Department for Health and to the Minister for Women and Equalities, asking for them to comment on the excellent points you raise.

As soon as I receive responses, I shall forward them to you.

With many thanks for your kind words about my election to Parliament, and warm regards,

Helen

Nice one 👏

Gally123 · 05/06/2023 11:57

@Lunnuni - who is your PM? It would be nice to be able to give her name when contacting my own PM again who was not so understanding. Thanks.

cathyk2002 · 06/06/2023 10:12

Blimey !! Task list jumped from 37 down to 5 in about 2secs there 😮Must be lots of folks on my speciality

Raisingboys22 · 06/06/2023 13:17

I wonder if they are struggling with proof readers, my trust have sent loads of orthoptic work lately and the letters are awful

Chrissols · 06/06/2023 16:20

@cathyk2002 well over a 100 in mine all day, but not moving as five inaudible ones just blocking everything 🙄

Pinksville · 06/06/2023 16:38

@Raisingboys22 the proofreaders are probably busy pulling transcribers up about missing commas, not enough paragraphs and other crap instead 😂

I got it today for not typing date as //-- as I've been doing month ----, then I get an e-mail saying there's a lot of work waiting & I thought I read that you don't get contacted if there's work ..... oops, meant 'do not' & 'there is' 🙄

Chrissols · 07/06/2023 08:21

looked on this morning, and still the same five blocking everything that were there all day yesterday…….I always thought the proof readers picked these up after they had blocked for a while?

Pinksville · 07/06/2023 11:26

@Chrissols this happened to me the other day, I found that when I accepted the task then sent it back immediately the task list changed !

cathyk2002 · 07/06/2023 19:35

Just had an e-mail to say I should have my log in by now and, if not, to contact them ...... been doing bits & bobs since 31 May !!

Can I ask if you ladies/gents are doing this for a primary income or just for 'pin money'. I'm the latter as retired but missed my job

Chrissols · 08/06/2023 09:00

Third day in a row with the same dictations blocking the system - only one has moved so the odd one can get in, but that's terrible just leaving them sat there - surely it is down to the proof readers to pick them up?

Gally123 · 08/06/2023 12:09

@Chrissols - in my experience normally she who must be obeyed emails people to "request" they type the tasks blocking the system.

@cathyk2002 - I expect DICT8 do know you have been logging on and working since end of May but they are just checking that it is you and not someone else, in the same way when you get a new laptop etc and start logging into sites you get emails asking if it was you logging on or someone else, such as a hacker. It will just be a check to ensure your logging details did not go astray. When I first started the postman delivered my offer of contract to the wrong address (plus other things, still an ongoing situation of confusion over road names) so I did not know I had been accepted for a couple of months when I checked up on how things were progressing.

Chrissols · 08/06/2023 12:48

@Gally123 I refuse to take the ones blocking, no matter who asks.....it would probably work out about £2.50 an hour so they can jolly well do it themselves.....

carosel2 · 08/06/2023 13:29

If there are supposed to be 1,000s of transcribers on their books wonder why these odd five still remain and wonder why the Trusts haven't asked why their work isn't being submitted. The tasks behind these odd five surely are being typed up by someone as I cannot see DICT8 letting work stand idle over 5 tasks hence they obviously just put in certain accounts. They are a joke

Chrissols · 08/06/2023 15:51

@carosel2 there are just three of the originals there now, so the others are coming through slowly. As said though, when they have been there for three days, there is no way on earth I am going to tackle them, I'm paid by the character not the hour 😂

cathyk2002 · 08/06/2023 16:01

Oops, got feedback other day for way I typed date so did it their way on the few I did today & feedback today was basically telling me to type it the way I was in the beginning !!!!! 🙄Need to get their proofreaders on the same page !!!!😡

carosel2 · 08/06/2023 19:23

@Chrissols - I dont blame you I wouldnt either. I logged in today as got the message lots of work on in one of my specialities. Had a look and there was over 100 on but first five were foreign docs barely speaking English. I didnt even attempt any. Its pointless as by the time you tried a task its just filled with another atrocious one. Im sticking to Tpro Im afraid as I can earn at least what equates to £12 an hour easy. I can earn more if I put my mind to it but quite happy with that as I only do it part time due to commitments regardless of them asking for help now and again in certain areas its so easy to make money its a doddle and I dont feel stressed like I did with Dict8 back spacing the pedal umpteen times just to try fathom out the simplest of sentence. As for the medications and terminology these doctors try and attempt is to me down right dangerous and outrageous and they shouldnt be allowed to practice. Dict8 send feedback saying you typed a clinical error and have the audacity to point out your faults in how dangerous it would be if this was sent out and acted on but they need to address these issues with doctors who are clearly incompetent that are doing the dictation.
There, had my rant of the month now🤣

Pinksville · 08/06/2023 19:55

@carosel2 agree about the dictation of medications and terminology. Had a few meds spelt out and even then they spelt wrong ?? I despair for all the poor patients. Most of these doctors sound bored and seem like they would rather be "living their best lives" anywhere but the NHS 🙄😂

carosel2 · 08/06/2023 21:31

@Pinksville - im actually gobsmacked at some of the docs total incompetence ! How are they allowed to carry on in such a profession it beggars belief to me and yes the poor patients. I got one doc on a new patient who was referred to get investigated further. The letter in pigeon English came back saying basically saw patient who was referred for abc and then said ive discharged him back to your care!!! With no details of any explanation whatsoever, what the hell was that all abt. I hoped to god the GP re referred them to someone decent 🙈

cathyk2002 · 09/06/2023 06:57

At this early hour, Dict8 or the sunshine ........... sunshine I think as we don't see it often 😎
