@Pinksville: We got the nurses on strike, the junior Dr's and now also the Consultants for two days next week. Clinics are 'down the pan', waiting times are offthe radar. I said to my sister last week: I can understand the strikes for the Jr Dr's and Nurses but not the Consultants who got a 4% pay rise last year in any case (4% increase in their pay on their wages is a huge amount compared to only 1.5% over many years for the other NHS staff). Then we both said at the same time; Yes, the Consultants are striking for 2 days NHS but bet that does not stop them doing their 'Private Work' + the extra clinics they WILL do in the NHS at weekends/evenings to bring the waiting times down at something like £750/clinic to see a maximum of 12 patients. Talk about the Hypocratic Oath ... more like Hypocrits!!!!

Pinksville · 19/07/2023 08:10

@danblack87 Yes I read about the consultants and thought exactly the same. We all know their private work comes first, the ones I worked for did private work in NHS time, only did one clinic a month for the NHS and referred their private patients into the NHS to the top of their waiting lists !!! every which way is a win for them so to go on strike asking for that huge pay rise is despicable.

danblack87 · 19/07/2023 09:28

@Pinksville The Consultants I worked for 3 NHS - did not do private work in NHS time; neither did they raise the private-NHS patients to top of the waiting list ... although I do know of those who did. Thing is when the Consultants 'go on strike' will they actually go on the picket lines in NHS time (and not get paid) OR will it be a token strike whilst they are busy in their private clinic!!! It is despicable and win/win like you say because they also reap the benefits the other side when it is time to reduced those waiting times drastically (via overtime) and get very handsomely paid for doing it ... it is a mockery

Chrissols · 19/07/2023 09:48

And the damage they are doing to the NHS which is hanging on by very little is really unforgiveable.

Pinksville · 19/07/2023 13:17

@Chrissols agree, seems to me these consultants are pushing for the demise of the NHS - huge benefits for them if it does collapse !!!!

Gally123 · 19/07/2023 13:30

Just to change the subject slightly, anyone else think it is very interesting this argument over Nigel Farage and Coutts bank. Coutts bank where our DICT8 pay cheques come from. Coutts bank where to have an account apparently you need to have at least £1,000,000 in savings.

I think DICT8 can afford to give us a pay rise if that is indeed the conditions to have an account with Coutts.

Agree with this 100% 🙄😡

Billybea · 19/07/2023 14:12

Agreed! The fact that they can keep sending out “well done for your good work” letters for work that we should ultimately be doing well anyway tells me they are struggling to keep transcribers. And to still be getting 0.08p is getting tedious now, especially with the numpty doctors I seem to be typing for lately! It just took me 20 mins to do a 2 minute letter because he kept mumbling! Not worth it. 😡

Pinksville · 19/07/2023 18:22

@Gally123 Coutts are part of the NatWest Group. Vile bank trying to tell people what they should and shouldn't think in order to keep YOUR money in their bank !!!!

and yes it kind of exposes DICT8 doesn't it !!! We should all go on strike for a few days in order to get a pay rise

Chrissols · 19/07/2023 21:27

@Gally123 they probably wouldn’t notice if just a few of us went on strike out of the thousands they supposedly have transcribe for them sadly

Gally123 · 19/07/2023 21:32

@Chrissols yes I know, which is why I did not mention it.

Chrissols · 20/07/2023 09:06

@Gally123 Oh so sorry, that should have been @Pinksville , apologies

danblack87 · 22/07/2023 12:30

@gally123: I agree with you wholeheartedly

Whitestar55 · 24/07/2023 10:50

Hi everyone. There's no work on Dict8, how is everyone else finding it?

OP posts:
Chrissols · 24/07/2023 10:52

@Whitestar55 none in my specialties either.....

Whitestar55 · 24/07/2023 10:54

Is there work on T-pro?

OP posts:
Chrissols · 24/07/2023 11:01

@Whitestar55 I no longer work for Tpro so don't know I'm afraid.

Whitestar55 · 24/07/2023 11:10

@Chrissols Thanks anyway x

Lovemydaxie · 24/07/2023 11:24

Nothing on mine either😕

Chrissols · 24/07/2023 11:35

Is this the start of summer - absolutely no work with Dict8 - weird how other companies still have plenty though.....

nomadchild · 24/07/2023 11:51

@Whitestar55 Plenty on Tpro I had 5000+ tasks when I started today I could access. This is why it makes it a no brainer versus DICT8. Sorry to be the bearer of depressing news.

cathyk2002 · 24/07/2023 11:56

Yep, slack during day just now but seems to be a bit busier around 4ish or so

Chrissols · 24/07/2023 11:56

Has anyone tried Outsec - I do quite a bit for them, they pay better than Dict8 or Tpro and the work is really good - you get allocated your own consultants

Not heard of that one, will check it out

Chrissols · 24/07/2023 15:14

@cathyk2002 Worth a go, the work is very straight forward, very clear, and good support should you need it.
