@nomadchild The Tpro thread is called just Tpro. I think the stuff in pending must either be going in house to the hospital secretaries or else to the typists that Tpro pay a wage to (ie are not self-employed and so must be given work to do all the time as they take home regular monthly pay and I don't think Tpro would have them sitting doing nothing!)

Gally123 · 27/02/2024 08:50

@nomadchild I do not get the pending email. I stopped all emails as found them distracting

carosel2 · 27/02/2024 11:45

@nomadchild - @Gally123 - no I never get any emails showing pending and never have. I have like Gally 6 hospitals plus backlog and all I see today are 17 tasks all across the board! Thats 6 hospitals with every speciality going in each and the backlog so where is all the work its as Gally said must be going to the paid typists and the self employed are just getting the dregs that they dont like doing like Dict8 give us. I am getting the odd one in my speciality but its a nurse who is impossible to decipher without retyping the whole letter.

Gally123 · 27/02/2024 11:58

@carosel2 I think I have earned about £12 all morning. Now a few more coming through when I have an appointment this afternoon. Typical.

carosel2 · 27/02/2024 12:24

@Gally123 - yes about £4 for me. They should be letting us know out of courtesy now if the work is being sent elsewhere then at least we won't be sat at our computers all day waiting for dregs coming in, we are already doing that with Dict8. Thought this company had more loyalty than that.

Doglover6109 · 27/02/2024 12:49

None of these type of companies have any loyalty to anyone. It was bad of Dict8 not to tell people about losing the GSTT contract. It has been very quiet on Dict8 for the last two weeks and the strikes aren't helping the situation. There have been a few on today but yesterday I only had 6 all day. I had a weird phone call from Dict8 a couple of weeks ago saying it had been flagged up on their system that I was using voice recognition to type a task. I don't have voice recognition and told them so. I think more likely the voice recognition users are their proofreaders or proof-readers or Proof Readers, whichever way they want it typing!

nomadchild · 27/02/2024 14:32

@Gally123 and @carosel2 i managed to earn £72 but that was in 4 1/2 hours and doing stuff I normally wouldn’t contemplate. I’m constantly checking each hospital which puts me on edge working. Getting all these drs who don’t load in the pt so more work looking up addresses etc. I used to love how I worked but now it’s like Dict8 all over again. Surely they will have to lose the character count they expect each month if this carries on. I’ll give it another month and then look to go back to the nhs I think. Wait till the summer when everyone is off they’ll come unstuck without transcribers then if we all go elsewhere. I just get so annoyed when they say there’s lots in pending but we aren’t seeing it. If no better next week I think I’ll get on to them again re the amount of work. For gods sake just be honest with us.

Whitestar55 · 27/02/2024 14:34

They (DICT8) used to send an update document containing advice and also information about the expected availability of work and new clients , but no longer. Probably because they are trying to stay within the taking us on as self employed criteria. Even though they take advantage of us by doing this the companies have no loyalty obligations to us at all, although some of them expect it from us.

Whitestar55 · 27/02/2024 14:40

I don't think they have the right to expect a certain character amount to be completed each month as they operate on a gig economy self employment basis by task, with no obligation to provide the work, therefore they can't expect a certain amount to be done by the transcriber. DICT8 does operate this way in not expecting a certain amount of work to be completed, but others don't appear to. It's merely a way of having a cheap, no responsibility for, work force.

Mine was an email to say I was using VR which they state is clearly breaking the rules and can result in my contract been cancelled. My thought was I know I am good but I didn't know I was that bloody good...lol 🤣🤣

Apparently if you copy and paste from Google that will mess up their systems and it is seen as VR !!!

Whitestar55 · 28/02/2024 07:34

Does it say in our contracts that we can't use VR?

@Cherryblossom114 - I got pulled up on typing in word and copying across as I could use the auto text Windows provided and could easily get through a lot of letters. I ended up getting messages saying something about not being compatible then I got the phone call from he who shouldn't be named telling me if I carry on they will close my account as it is putting confidential information on a different system to theirs. This was about 4 years ago though

Whitestar55 · 28/02/2024 10:09

They just love to make it difficult and labour intensive don't they, an upgrade in their system to include more word processing functions is long overdue.

I read that TPRO have added Copilot to their system making it even easier for doctors to do admin quicker (so they say) maybe that's why there is less work who knows ? Makes you wonder why these junior doctors are always striking 🤔

Lollybaz · 28/02/2024 18:25

Not a thing on DICT8 today! Zilch .. not even a goddam nurse 😩

How bizarre! I do hope we've got different specialities and it's not that they've decided to block my work for a day! Makes you wonder though doesn't it!

Doglover6109 · 29/02/2024 10:56

Yesterday was the busiest I have been for a few months but today it is as dead as a dodo again.

Chrissols · 29/02/2024 14:27

I've had quite a lot today, and easy listening for a change

Cherryblossom114 · 29/02/2024 18:46

With the extra day in the month today maybe they dont want to work for no pay....

Cherryblossom114 · 04/03/2024 19:24

Whitestar55 · 05/03/2024 11:51

Language Empire are advertising on Indeed for Transcriptionists to 'transcribe audio to text from a variety of specialties such as medical, local authority, and police'.

Does anyone have any experience of working for them?

So I keep telling myself as well. Theres only so often you can refresh ...talk about repetitive strain injury. Can you sue for injury to make up for the lost of work...
