and the National Living wage is going up to £11.44.....

Whitestar55 · 07/03/2024 13:28

Looking on the bright side, it makes more worthwhile taking another job and doing less of the slavery that is freelance transcription.

Not long finished a task of 40mins with 30+ letters on it !!! All of 5hrs 3mins typing & checking for 466 lines

Just had a takeaway Friday curry & added a cheeky Vodka to it, think I deserved it after that, other one I did today had 16 letters on the one task !!!!!

Whitestar55 · 11/03/2024 09:29

@cathyk2002 Absolutely, it takes about 6 hours to earn 40 quid on average now, factoring in all the faffing with researching and re-listening etc and the need for breaks.

It's just unbearable rubbish today, have to get away!

Doglover6109 · 14/03/2024 13:23

You are not far wrong there. It has been pretty quiet all week but most of the letters that are getting put on are the RTX ones that are difficult to understand. Perhaps VR and AI cannot understand their accents so they throw them on to us to try and decipher.

danblack87 · 14/03/2024 13:46

@Whitestar55 I had a good run this morning for one hour ... managed £11 in an hour. Then, nothing until 1.15pm - 1/2 hour run £6 and now back to rubbish

Pinksvilles · 14/03/2024 13:47

@Doglover6109 we had the same thought about the VR and AI !! I wonder whether we had it at the same time today🤔

😂@Whitestar55 yep my list is unbearable too just a long list of non comprende in the note box

Australia25 · 14/03/2024 16:01

So much seems to be dreadful quality so quite frankly if I can’t decipher it clearly then I just send it back fir them to sort it - as if you mishear then you will be chastised

danblack87 · 15/03/2024 11:07

I received this msg this week .. they do not state the Task Number so I assume it is an extremely long one that I did!

From time to time, our checking team will pick some random tasks to have a look over. They wanted me to let you know that a task typed in ENT that you completed on ** was perfect. Thank you so much for all your hard work on this and other dictations, I really do appreciate your efforts.

I thought that was really nice

Whitestar55 · 15/03/2024 11:23

I think they are worried about the rate of pay making our efforts difficult to match the minimum wage, especially as it's about to reach £11.44 an hour from April, and considering they used to ask for band 4 experience, so nice emails are sent out to soften us - doesn't work though.

Chrissols · 15/03/2024 12:59

I usually get one of those nice emails followed by a completely opposite one 😂. Their pay is abysmal.

Cherryblossom114 · 15/03/2024 13:45

@Newinmarch22 looks like another no food on the table again this weekend...DISMAL..😫

Same ere...

Newinmarch22 · 15/03/2024 14:01

Cherryblossom114 lol how right you are! Up to 100 tasks at a time today and 99% of them indecipherable! I don't even bother refreshing now, just go off and do something else!

Pinksvilles · 15/03/2024 14:26

Greggs and Primark will be paying more per hour than we earn with DICT8
and Greggs pay a bonus !!

danblack87 · 16/03/2024 09:32

Our pay is shit poor for the experience we have and for work that is mostly undecipherable. At the moment I can be sat at my computer 9hrs a day and literally only earn £10 - £15 a day .... It is crap .. a pay increase is in order and to be in line with others in our specialist area. Somedays I wonder if it is worth bothering/ Somedays I wonder about not being on the planet at ,,, spiralling depression

danblack87 · 16/03/2024 09:40

The amount I earn per month is 1/5 of what I used to earn for Dict8. It is abysmal and distressing ++ mentally destroying. Does not even cover the shopping bill per month.

TypoQueen1 · 16/03/2024 13:24

Anyone work for Typeout?

Whitestar55 · 18/03/2024 09:45

@danblack87 I know how you feel, hope you're feeling better today, you're not alone! x

OP posts:
Gally123 · 18/03/2024 12:03

No work whatsoever today on Tpro as bank holiday in Ireland, so no choice but to try some tasks on DICT8. I normally do a few a week anyway just to keep in as lockdown taught us not to rely on one source of income. However, just sent back a task with the most comments of "unsure of this word/phrase etc" in a 30 task that I have made for a long time. Decided to go out this afternoon, so I expect the feedback will be waiting for me when I return!

Whitestar55 · 18/03/2024 12:56

Practically every task I type has multiple Alt Ns in it now.

carosel2 · 18/03/2024 15:29

Does anyone do respiratory or cardiology in Dict8 as I never have any tasks ever and they are usually very busy specialties even the RTX aren't coming in anymore

Doglover6109 · 18/03/2024 18:43

@carosel2 I do cardiology and there have been a few today but they go as quickly as they are put on. It's been sporadic since they lost GSTT.

Pinksvilles · 18/03/2024 18:56

It seems the more I do the less I earn at the moment, it's shocking and yes @danblack87 feeling the same here at the moment life is like wading through treacle. Hope your feeling ok x
