Cheques are out! BACS is in!Many of you have asked to be paid directly to your bank account, as opposed to by cheque. We have been working on this and it is now ready to go. From now on we will be paying your invoices by bank transfer. Please send us your invoice as usual, at the start of the month, and the money will be sent directly to your account.
You will need to provide us with your bank details in the 'Bank Details' section and you will be responsible for keeping these up to date and ensuring that they are correct. When you submit an invoice to us, the monies will be sent to the account that we have on file at that time and, as a security precaution, they cannot be changed for that particular invoice. Please note that your account number will be held in an encrypted format in the system and that giving it to us does not allow us to do anything other than pay your bill.

Yes, thank goodness for that - BACS is in. Now a payrise which is well justified considering Consultants are asking for huge 17.5% on their earnings and Jr Drs looking for 35% pay rise (not really do-able but they keep striking)!!. I realise they do a good job but blimey I would be happy for a 4-5% pay rise (taking the rise in price of absolutely everything and the situation with interest rates)

Be warned if Dr/Cons dictates a note then you've got to type it all out word for word.

I had one but didn't say it was a note and I felt it was more instruction for me as the typist and got one of 'them' e-mails. Don't get paid for that so it will be going back to tasks in future !!!!😡

@cathyk2002 yes had email conversation with she who must not be named as I had typed the "please" at the beginning of the message to secretary but had omitted the "thank you" at the end. I told her as it was not paid, any messages were left out of the kindness of our hearts and thus they could not comment on them. If they want to comment and enforce they need to pay. I still only type either "please" or "thank you" not both, and do not strictly type word for word, as message is left out of the kindness of my heart!!😁.

Yes @Gally123 just a short version should suffice as it's only for instruction, but one I had was very lengthy and, as I said, was more instruction for the typist doing the letter

@cathyk2002 that type of long instruction is better returned, as you say. If no-one types these then they might get the message about how unfair it is.

Well I have it in writing from her who should not be named stating that it’s ok to abbreviate ! So I do just that, I don’t type the dictated “please” or “Thankyou” just the bare necessities! The secretary should listen to the bloody notes like I always did as a secretary!

I always abbreviate the messages too, as you say, we are not being paid for them so we don’t actually have to type any.

@Billybea just another example of their inconsistent feedback.

Thinking back he was telling me the date he was dictating but that the patients were at clinics on different dates which he gave me at each letter as were about 16 letters in the one dictation !! So why did that need to be a note ... they wanna get a grip !!!

Maybe call it a "letter box" if they want it typed out in full and then pay us for it. As it stands, it's called a "note box" and that's exactly what they will get. If I was at the other end and unsure of the note I would listen to the dictation.

Exactly, their interpretation was certainly very different from mine on this occasion
