Same again today, not gone below 40 jobs and all ethnics !!!! Ridiculous 🙄🙄

Lincoln72 · 09/09/2023 22:05

I've had several reminders re a large amount of dictation in my specialties over recent days but 8p per line for the stress of trying to interpret some of the dictation when the sun is shining and the allotment and garden beckon - no brainer!. I thought doctors were supposed to be super intelligent so why cant some of them learn to speak English correctly and clearly! Sorry but it's just sloppy and disrespectful. I feel sorry for their patients.

cathyk2002 · 10/09/2023 07:53

👏well said

Pinksville · 10/09/2023 10:17

@Lincoln72 you must have read my mind !!!! If I cannot hear what is being said, even though I could guess, I am refusing to type it. If they are going to be disrespectful to colleagues working alongside them, then they will be getting these letters back littered with notes, and maybe then they might start making an effort to speak clearly. And stuff DICT8 and their feedback I no longer care, after all, we are working for a company that doesn't give a F**K about paying promptly.

Deniserew · 10/09/2023 10:46

Agree totally. For a while now I've stopped googling certain things to get it right or check it's 15 or 50mg etc too time consuming for a pittance. I've always put note to secretary, maybe I should be putting it to doctor

Gally123 · 10/09/2023 11:25

yep I have stopped checking my work so thoroughly. It gets one read through and that it is - as that is all they are paying for.

cathyk2002 · 14/09/2023 12:14

WOW 3.5 hrs work finally done on 1 task, multiple letters - 366 lines PHEW It's the quick proof read that takes time as well. Surprised I had no e-mail to say I'd been on that task for a while, thankfully only crashed three times but was more or less all there when I got back in

Chrissols · 14/09/2023 15:46

@cathyk2002 Gosh that's only £8.37 an hour - not worth it at all, just shows how they are under-paying doesn't it.

cathyk2002 · 14/09/2023 16:30

Sure does🙄

Pinksville · 15/09/2023 08:14

My cheque arrived yesterday even though it was issued at the beginning of the month. Waiting for it to clear another few days 💩What is the issue with DICT8 and prompt payment, has this company got something to hide financially? If they insist on payment by cheque is there no way they can email the f**king thing to avoid the non-existent Royal Mail crap-service

cathyk2002 · 15/09/2023 09:27

Is Dict8 'broken' just had an e-mail saying loads of work - not been more than 17 in list waiting 🙄🤔

Gally123 · 15/09/2023 11:18

@Pinksville - many people would not be able to pay in cheques emailed to them. I need a physical cheque to pay into my bank if they do not pay by BACS.

nomadchild · 15/09/2023 11:29

@Pinksville I am not sure an emailed cheque would be legal tender as it is not the original. Working for Tpro now mostly and paid by BACS they always say you will be paid by the 7th but I am always paid within 2 days of the submitting the invoice. Makes life a lot easier. Dict8 are basically holding on to their workers money as long as possible to benefit from the interest in the bank and the sums they are paying out it probably equates to quite a bit of interest. We moved house once and we were in profit with no mortgage at the new property as we downsized and the profit we had made the solicitor kept in their account for a month, failing to transfer it to us on the day of sale. They eventually transferred it to us but my husband took it to the legal services ombudsman as he wanted the interest he had lost plus the interest they had gained on the monies. We won and it was paid to us. Very sly practices.

Billybea · 15/09/2023 12:50

I was thinking It could equally be that DICT8 pay by cheque as it’s cheaper than by BACS seeing as they can’t seem to afford a 1p rise per line, but then I realise that even sending our cheques by 2nd class isn’t cheap so that would counteract each BACS transaction, so maybe it’s due to data protection (GDPR compliance) with having to keep transcribers’ personal details & bank accounts safe?

Gally123 · 15/09/2023 14:37

@nomadchild - have you noticed that these day travel companies require you to pay your final balance a lot sooner? It used to be 8 weeks before travel but now it is usually 10, and I think that is to earn more interest on people's money, plus making it harder for them to cancel (as if you cancel once the final balance is paid you normally lose it all, whereas before the final balance, you just lose the deposit). As you say, a lot of sly practices about.

Chrissols · 15/09/2023 14:42

@Gally123 i have noticed that too, when I had to pay the balance I thought my holiday was actually sooner than it was 🫨

Chrissols · 15/09/2023 17:40

@Billybea I don’t think it will be down to data protection as I don’t know any other company that pays by cheque, there must be some other reason for it.

Billybea · 15/09/2023 17:55

@Chrissols I’m stuck for ideas then! 🤷‍♀️😂😂

Chrissols · 19/09/2023 10:39

No work on Dict8 again today....... think they must be really short of clients these days.

Gally123 · 19/09/2023 13:43

@Chrissols - I did 2 letters earlier but most are poorly dictated and yesterday and the sound quality was dreadful. One chap (several letters blocking the system of course) was so quiet even on full 100% volume could hardly hear a word.

cathyk2002 · 19/09/2023 14:01

I don't have no work that often, always busyish for me but, as you say, ethnics block list for a while, so typing is spasmodic 🙄

Deniserew · 19/09/2023 15:02

Yes, very little for me too. I refuse to do any work, ethnic or English, if they don't speak relatively clearly. It's not worth the effort

Billybea · 19/09/2023 15:32

I think you will find that the lack of work is because the consultants are on strike today and tomorrow with the junior doctors joining them tomorrow.

Pinksville · 19/09/2023 15:52

@Gally123 same for me volume up to 100 !!! not good when the end bongs come 🙉It is so hard to earn anything with the stilted dictation, inability to pronounce drug names or diagnoses and now layout and continuity has become an issue on my list. Things are dictated out of sync and letters make no sense. I think most of these doctors would do well going on an English course instead of striking, I think they have far to high an opinion of themselves.

Deniserew · 19/09/2023 17:49

Agree 100%. I tried to type it to make sense, got hauled over the coals for not typing exactly what is said, so now I do that whether it makes sense or not
