Hi all, has anyone else started a new thread yet?

Oh the online mandatory training how can pointless is that every 3 months we had to redo it and in yr office while the phones ringing and everyone coming in. No time out to do it. My fav one re managers is we had target to get clinics done in 48 hours which fine, so all signed off and no envelopes ! When I asked why we had no envelopes they said be creative which meant “buy yr own”!! Made targets pointless. I was in a trust that wld not e-mail them to GPs again archaic, so no don’t miss that at all.

@EmilyJ23 Just be mindful of Outsec. I worked for them briefly quite some years ago and unless it has changed, they want you available to take tasks at at specific times so at the beginning of the week I had to let them know what days and times I would be available. That didn't fit with my circumstances at the time, but it might for you. For me, it is what I like about Dict8. There is none of that.

Thanks for letting me know. That wouldn’t really suit me either, dict8 seems to be the best where where you can when and what times you want

Has anyone used DICT8 when abroad? I visit my daughter in Australia and hopefully be able to stay a few months at a time. Useful to earn some money whilst there. Probably need to set up a VPN before being able to access system but people do work for companies world wide and not uncommon these days.

@Australia25 As far as I'm aware, there's something in the contract/policy stating that you must be in the UK when using DICT8, unfortunately. I think it may have something to do with confidentiality and data security.

@Australia25 Hey just a thought, maybe you could contact Australian companies and ask if you can register with them for work.

In my previous life as a band 5 NHS I did meet with Dict8 re contracting them to clear our dept secs backlog and their major selling point is all transcribers are UK based hence why you can’t access from outside the UK.

I'd like to know how much they charge the clients and whether it has increased at all over the years, as we are constantly told that our rate can't be increased due to competition from other companies.

Morning! I was up early so had a cup of tea in the garden and did some typing. Lucky to get some really good dictators today and whizzing through them. My fingers seem to be better in the mornings! There was a lot of work on over the weekend too. Things are looking up!

Does anyone know how much the clients are charged? I think they are charged by the line.

Best way is to phone them up and pretend to be interested in their service !!

I thought of that but I think they'd want proof of your medical practice to make sure you're genuine.

just seen the email re RTX numbers 🤣🤣 you couldn’t make this shit up !! All the bullying emails I’ve had about how to type them and they were wrong all along!! Kinda made my day😍

On proof reading the email I note they did not follow their own DICT8 Standard Formatting

• they typed Re. in stead of RE:

DICT8 has distinguished itself over the years BLAH BLAH BLAH .... 🤣🤣🤣

also did you note that one RTX number had five 0s and the other 6?

@Chrissols : I got on and off during the morning yesterday managed a few but did not meet my target .. gave up at 2pm - Looks like exactly the same is going to happen today too - it's so soul destroying :(

A very good Morning workers....my PD (personal dictionary) is looking like the Oxford dictionary , question...what do you do with it, do you do housekeeping ie, delete ALL. Many thanks 💌

@danblack87 yes, same today, awful dictations.................

@Cherryblossom114 I go through mine PD about once a year. When I change computers (say every 4/5 years) the dictionary disappears!! :(
