Hi all, has anyone else started a new thread yet?

OP posts:
Lunnuni · 04/11/2022 12:21

Hi ElleBee56, I also got my cheque really fast and have paid it into my bank. I don't think it will clear until Monday or Tuesday, IME cheques are slow to clear. No transfer received from T-pro yet, hoped it would be faster than this.

ElleBee56 · 04/11/2022 12:39

@Chrissols and @deflatedbirthday I'm hoping it's just a blip with my bank. I'll try to deposit it again and see if it clears. I'll let you know!

ElleBee56 · 04/11/2022 13:06

Hi @Lunnuni, @Chrissols and @deflatedbirthday I might need a trip into town to the bank to see if I can deposit the cheque as I can't resubmit on the app as I've already tried to deposit it. I'm hoping TPro payment goes in later today or maybe tomorrow, if not I'm guessing it will be Monday which will be the 7th and the date payments were set to be paid. Recently payments have gone into my account a couple of days early though which has been great. At least there's no messing about paying in cheques and waiting for them to clear!

deflatedbirthday · 04/11/2022 13:08

@ElleBee56 yeah I had to resubmit to a different account (neither banks I use have branches 😩) and it went through fine the second time. The first bank said it was their error but their app wouldn't let me resubmit it so I'd have to post it off, with the strikes I wasn't happy to do that

ElleBee56 · 04/11/2022 13:38

@deflatedbirthday it's a real pain. I opened the account I have now as there was a branch in the village where I live, then it closed down so it now means a trip into town. Having the app is useful as I can usually pay cheques in easily and keep an eye on what's going in and out. I've never had this happen before.

Newinmarch22 · 04/11/2022 13:44

This month is the fastest my cheque has ever been processed, which is a bit of a worry!

Gally123 · 04/11/2022 14:37

not had my cheque yet.

@ElleBee56 hope your cheque goes in okay. I normally pay in via the post office but with all the strikes and my local post office keeps closing as well I might have to take a trip into town as well and deposit in person. Oh for bank transfer!

ElleBee56 · 04/11/2022 14:56

@Gally123 I think maybe it's a glitch with my app. I had another look at my account and it says the cheque has been rejected and to contact this issuer, which I have done. Just waiting to hear back from them now. BACS would be so much easier and with the cost of postage these days I suspect it might be cheaper.

Gally123 · 04/11/2022 15:05

@ElleBee56 - I had an issue with a cheque sent to me last year as compensation for a problem I had on holiday. I paid it into my building society in November, no problem. February when I went back there for something else, the message came up in my passport that the transaction had been cancelled. It took weeks to sort out, the building society told me to go back to the holiday company as they said the cheque had been rejected, possibly due to insufficient funds, the holiday company said as far as they were concerned the cheque and been paid and seemed to think I was pulling a fast one and trying to get another cheque out of them. In the end it turned out to be the building society's error - the cheque had cleared okay but for some reason a woman employee removed the cheque from their safe and tried to present to into my account a second time, which was then rejected. She had no idea why she had done this. But it took a lot of toing and froing to get answers, and to prove that I was the innocent party in all this.

ElleBee56 · 04/11/2022 18:18

@Gally123 I'm going to pay the cheque into the bank as it seems to be a issue with the photo I took of the cheque on the app. Hopefully paying it directly into the bank won't be a problem. Thankfully I'm not destitute (yet!). I do wish we could be paid by BACS though, it would make life so much easier. Thanks to everyone who commented.

Chrissols · 05/11/2022 10:28

Hopefully all okay with your cheque. There is still something going on though, the lack of tasks speaks for itself, it’s been weeks/months now that there has been very little work

Raisingboys22 · 05/11/2022 13:41

I last had my cheque for august I think it was £36! Ophthalmology..haven’t done any since as nothings been on there - I was doing it in the evening

ElleBee56 · 05/11/2022 19:47

@Raisingboys22 my cheque for last month wasn't for a huge amount, less than £100, and I was in 2 minds whether to send an invoice or not. TPro have a lot of ophthalmology which tends to linger a bit. I've tried it but I'm not confident with doing it so I tend to stick with what I'm used to and some other specialties which I've found to be quite easy to do.

Chrissols · 07/11/2022 12:33

Not a single task again - surely they will let us know what's going on soon, this is ridiculous

Whitestar55 · 07/11/2022 13:13

Has anyone else still not received their cheque? My invoice was put through on the 1st November.

@Chrissols Hope you get some tasks soon, they are a mysterious company aren't they, emails thank us for being part of the Team, but really we're just a faceless commodity.

danblack87 · 07/11/2022 13:28

@Whitestar55 and @Chrissols : My cheque arrived just now from Dict8 (definitely due to postal strikes here as I had received any post for 6 days!)

Whitestar55 · 07/11/2022 13:31

@danblack87 Thanks. Fingers crossed we all get paid soon and everything crossed in the hope they start using BACS.

OP posts:
Chrissols · 07/11/2022 13:41

I can't help but think things aren't right with them, the lack of work speaks volumes - and the fact they are not updating us when we know they read this site

TypoQueen1 · 07/11/2022 14:57

Where I work they are finding voice recognition to be pretty accurate. Maybe Dict8 are losing business as they a bit behind the times? Just a theory ...

Gally123 · 07/11/2022 16:22

I think it will be very interesting if there is no pre-Christmas backlog again this year. Always used to be the busiest time and last year I seem to remember it was very quiet.

Chrissols · 07/11/2022 16:32

@TypoQueen1 It looks as though they may have lost most of their business as the work hasn't been their and the lack of communication from them is deafening

Chrissols · 07/11/2022 16:33

there

Chrissols · 07/11/2022 16:34

Fortunately, most of us have other work, but for those relying on just Dict8, I think they should be looking elsewhere.

Whitestar55 · 07/11/2022 16:54

I'm looking elsewhere, but the thought of the effort needed to set up with another transcription company just to be trapped in the same hard work/low pay boat isn't very inviting😩, it might come to having no choice 🙁, but wouldn't it be nice if we could all find some remote work where we would be appreciated and appropriately paid 🙂.

OP posts:
TypoQueen1 · 07/11/2022 16:55

I was really hoping to semi-retire next year and top up my small pension with Dict8 work but that looks like a non-starter now. I think I will apply to T Pro in the New Year and hope they take me on!
