Feedback a week ago - not "appropriate" to leave no explanation in the note box. Well it's not "appropriate" for your shitty company not to pay for text in the note box. How's that DICT8 !!!!!!!!!

There is that, I wonder how much money we lose as a result.

Workingfromhomenow · 25/07/2022 10:05

Surprised this morning to find no tasks to type - there have been 100+ for quite some time now, even at weekends. Oh well, I can do some weeding in the garden!

Gally123 · 25/07/2022 11:23

@Meha5a - so what is the note box for if not for leaving notes as I would class an explanation as a note, similar to "I am unsure of this name" which we are urged to leave as an explanation if we have spelt a name wrong.

Raisingboys22 · 25/07/2022 17:04

More feedback again from today, please type patients address before Re line.

feedback received the 22nd, please type address after Re line.

i can’t keep up

user1493458352 · 25/07/2022 18:26

Pts address is always the second line in the re line. Makes no sense that feedback. Just ignore it proof reader justifying their job yet again !!

Gally123 · 25/07/2022 18:38

@Raisingboys22 - how can someone say type patient's address before RE line - that would be before patients name etc. Either the proof reader is really stupid or they are just marking feedback for brownie points to fulfill a quota.

Meha5a · 25/07/2022 20:06

Feedback - you typed such and such wrong - well so did you !!!!

FFS, some words I copy and paste (this being one) from my list of words, as I cannot be bothered to type that word over and over throughout a letter. They feedback I spelt it wrong (no I didn't) then they spell it wrong😱😱😱I can't today with this lot

user1493458352 · 25/07/2022 20:35

Now
that makes sense to fulfil a quota, one month for days I had feedback saying medical words were spelt wrong when I knew it was a question of American or English spelling (so you can use either). Also telling me not to put a ‘ after months’ time. If you have to fulfill a quota this makes sense.

Gally123 · 25/07/2022 22:00

@user1493458352 - have DICT8 changed their policy on using American spelling? When I joined it was stated English spelling only. Tpro also state English spelling only.

user1493458352 · 25/07/2022 22:16

Well I always use English and the proof readers were telling me that was incorrect and quoting American spellings as the correct form. So they are wrong! Again fulfilling the quota I fear.

Whitestar55 · 25/07/2022 22:42

I use my own judgement when it comes to explaining stuff in the notes box, in my opinion they don't have the authority to dictate (excuse the pun 🤣) to us regarding something we're not paid for and they're treading a fine line as it breaches the self employment status by telling us how to do the work.

OP posts:
user1493458352 · 26/07/2022 05:52

I had a proof reader constantly telling me to type every little thing in notes like “new patient letter” or the hospital name when it was said (eg Dr Jones from St Thomas’ Hospital) and “letter to GP” when they then actually dictated the GP name and address. To me totally unnecessary as the sec wld know all this obvious info. Waste of my time. Different if I was paid for it.

Frazzledbynature · 26/07/2022 09:03

I did a template to GP and kept pasting it in, then was told only write GP if its dictated to GP, so now I have to delete it in the main. I also was told if its dictated the clinic to write at the top of the letter, nothing in the supreme mouse mat of knowledge about that which I received but at least not told to put it as a note so at least i gain a bit back for the loss i get using notes.

I try and not work on a Monday so i can get "home" stuff done, gone 9 and no work as yet, last week I was typing from 7.30. Am I paranoid but if I don't log in to work one day, I suffer the waiting game the next or is it just me.

Frazzledbynature · 26/07/2022 09:04

Additionally, is the end of the month always a struggle or is it the beginning, does anyone see any difference in work flow before or after pay day

Chrissols · 26/07/2022 09:17

I haven't really noticed a shortage of work for a while now, except yesterday morning (Monday) there was none which was the first time in weeks - soon filled up though.

Frazzledbynature · 26/07/2022 09:19

My busiest weeks yet were the last two weeks, never started so early with work, i wonder if a lot of transcribers were on their jolleys or enjoying the good weather.

Meha5a · 26/07/2022 09:39

@user1493458352 must have had the same American proofreader !!!!
@Whitestar55 yes the feedback demand re: note box really winds me up. Hanging on in there due to the convenience factor of this job but over the last few weeks the temptation to tell this company to shove it has been overwhelming !!! 😡

Raisingboys22 · 26/07/2022 11:34

This! Always get told I’ve spelt it wrong and it’s the American spelling they give me 🤬

Raisingboys22 · 26/07/2022 13:27

Also one I get a lot, please only capitalise brand drug names 🤭

Frazzledbynature · 26/07/2022 13:54

Raisingboys22 · 26/07/2022 13:27

I have even been told to put the brand symbol next to it, it it means the difference between a line or not i don't mind, but sometimes i don't know difference between brand and drug name.

Frazzledbynature · 26/07/2022 13:55

Too many "it's" sorry, i'm trying to type with an apple lol

danblack87 · 26/07/2022 14:05

The only way I can see it makes sense to type the patient address above the RE: Line is if the letter was addressed to the patient and not GP, thereby negating the need for the address to be typed on the RE line and typed in the addressee box; however, as we all know we cannot be sure to which task a feedback relates. My best guess anyway.

danblack87 · 26/07/2022 14:11

@Meha5a: I think the rules are explicit to use the notes box for certain things and I do them as short as possible 'unclear'/'no patient ID/? spelling of name ... it is a pain but it does save a lot of feedback which I do not wish to see. Makes my life less stress-free to comply on that score.
