Looking for people from the previous thread that closed as must of been full?

I have been quiet today with DICT8 - still not heard anything further regarding my application with TPro, which is a shame as I could do with something now!

Meha5 · 17/09/2020 16:02

Not too bad this end but OMG the dictation is so poor I'm surprised I have any hair left 🤬

Chrissols · 17/09/2020 16:13

@Meha5 I have to agree on that, the odd one I am getting is taking twice a long as it would normally due to the quality of the dictation.

@Gally123 have you tried contacting them to ask what the hold up is? Might be worth a try

Gally123 · 17/09/2020 16:22

@Chrissols - yes I did email them shortly before I was due to go on my holiday (that ended up cancelled) as my sister suggested that it might be a good idea in case they tried to contact me when I was away and getting no immediate reply might think I was no longer interested. I got an out of office reply stating the woman was on holiday and that was nearly a month ago. It could have been the start of a two week break followed by 2 weeks of quarantine I suppose but things don't look hopeful.

Chrissols · 21/09/2020 11:58

Incredibly slow again today, I wonder if it will ever pick up? How's everyone else doing?

OP posts:
Gally123 · 21/09/2020 12:42

There was nothing until gone 8 o'clock again this morning and a lot of gaps with nothing, however the quality of the dictation has been better, so overall happy.

Chrissols · 21/09/2020 13:39

I did one small task, 11 lines, and waiting an hour for the next one.....crazy

Not a great day today. Hoping for better tomorrow

Lucylizzy123 · 21/09/2020 19:09

Hello Chrissols
How are you getting on with TPro? I am now getting used to the system. Are you concentrating more on that rather than Dict8 these days? I still dip in and out of both.

Chrissols · 21/09/2020 19:36

Hi @Lucylizzy123 I still find TPro difficult to be honest. The system is great, very easy, I just cannot get to grips with the specialities and accents. I tend to sway more to Dict8 as its all very familiar. It would help if TPro gave me something a bit more familiar, they added another hospital on my account but the same specialities as the other lol

Seems to be a lot of new consultants

Haven't come across any pt who have had COVID yet ?

Chrissols · 23/09/2020 13:09

@Meha5 me neither, just ones that suspect they may have had it but no proven ones

Very quiet on here, how is everybody? All busy? Ready for the weekend?

now the weather had turned colder I feel a bit snuffly. The typing has not been so good and I bought a printer as when the libraries re-opened it was minus computer/printing facilities and I thought I had imposed on my sister for long enough asking her to print out and post every month, however since I installed the printer software my laptop has not been quite the same....slower and unresponsive at times, and I think the printer is to blame! Typical. (Luckily the DICT8 seems unaffected and all scans reveal no problems with viruses etc).

Chrissols · 25/09/2020 13:38

Yes it feels really cold today, heating on. Hope the printer hasn't taken up memory space on her laptop as that would slow it down.

@Chrissols - there are two short cut icons, a moving picture preview box - that I close down every time I log on - and a large 'L' shaped icon containing 14 items! There was also an extra tool bar but I deleted that.

Since installation I have been unable to open up my photos on some days and logging on and off takes longer. I have been guided by my niece as to whether to uninstall and do, at the moment she has favoured the scans - I did one that took 5 hours before I stopped it as it was only 30% through and I had had enough for the day!

Chrissols · 25/09/2020 14:41

Gosh, that doesn't sound right at all. It might be worth uninstalling just to see if the laptop corrects itself

Morning everybody......quiet on hear again, everyone ok?

OP posts:
flutterby18 · 29/09/2020 11:33

Morning @Chrissols .... I have never had such dire dictation in all my life as I have got this morning, absolutely awful.

Chrissols · 29/09/2020 11:35

@flutterby18 couldn't agree more.....I have been struggling terribly

OP posts:
flutterby18 · 29/09/2020 11:45

@Chrissols - like most people on here, I didn't get my AMSPAR Diploma and spend 20+ years in the NHS to listen to rubbish like I'm hearing for 8p a line. I'm not playing today until it's gone Angry. We are all worth more than that.

Gally123 · 29/09/2020 11:57

I had a better day yesterday but today is not so good, both in quality and amount of work available.
@flutterby18 - I really wish sometimes we could rate dictation on aspects that make it either good (clarity, speed etc) or poor (also clarity speed and volume, ie those that whisper, or have the handsets on the desk next to notes and all you can hear is the turning of pages and the rustling of paper, or crowded rooms esp with someone nearby shouting on the telephone etc). It would help so much if were allowed to leave little hints and comments.

flutterby18 · 29/09/2020 12:07

@Gally, I totally agree. I'm hoping the afternoon is going to be better.

Chrissols · 29/09/2020 14:18

My afternoon has gone from bad dictations to nothing.....
