Man arrested for self identifying as a converted muslim woman.

I think this throws the door open for all kinds of questions about fairness.

Men have been banned from covering their faces at protests so one man identified as a muslim woman and wore a burka, he was arrested.

I've seen 2 media outlets so far with headlines reporting that 'a man' has been arrested.

If we break it down...

If a 'real' muslim woman attends a protest (a Pro Palestine one for example) would she be arrested?

Has he been arrested for wearing the burka or identifying as a woman falsly?

Why is he not believed when he says he is a woman?

After all, it is fluid day to day and just a feeling! And any man can decide to become a woman at any point?

And who says he cannot decide to convert to Islam??

And why is he being reported as 'a man in a burka' when transwomen are NEVER reported this way when they self identify, even after committing rape?!

We all know why he is doing this.

But he is simply playing the establishment at their own game.

Why have so many Palestine protests occoured with men covering their faces with Kaffirs and balaclavas but it only becomes a problem now?

Why is it a problem to self identify now?

Why is it not a problem for a muslim woman to cover her face in a bank or school or park but this 'muslim woman' cannot?

Of course its ridiculous

But the point is that ALL self identification and complete covering of the face in public is ridiculous

But its only this man be arresed and called out for seemingly both things?

Man arrested for self identifying as a converted muslim woman.

He's been arrested for wearing a face covering - it could have been a surgical mask and the outcome would have been the same.

The prohibition is temporary and under Section 158 of the Crime and Policing Act 2025, and bans the wearing of face coverings used to conceal identity during any protest activity.

In addition:
"A Section 60AA order will also be in place, covering the same area. This order gives officers the power to require a person to remove any items being used to conceal their identity, such as masks and face coverings. Any failure to comply can result in the person being arrested."

The self identification is the usual red herring, thrown in by a man who has no comprehension of the law on any front but knows he wants a newspaper headline or five.

GreenFootstool · 12/09/2026 18:06

To add: this changes nothing, it isn't unfair and identity is irrelevant

AwfulButTrue · 12/09/2026 18:07

I have to add, I do not support this but I can see how it definitely shows there is a hypocrisy.

Either we accept all self identification or we don't.

If a convicted rapist can claim self ID after commiting that crime and be trusted he is a woman enough to be put in a female prison then why isn't this man believed?

There is absolutely hypocrisy here.

There is no comparison to be made.

The law is very clear on what he's done and why it's illegal and claiming to be a Muslim of either sex doesn't take him any further forward.

So a muslim woman in the same situation would be arrested?

And next time there is a pro Palestine march, they will all ne ordered to remove their kaffirs or be arrested?

Why is a face covering only a security risk at a protest?

If the woman is in the area specifically mapped for the use of this power, and is wearing a face covering to conceal her identity during a protest then yes.

If she happens to live in the area that is mapped and is going about her day and isn't present during a protest then no.

Why is a face covering only a security risk at a protest?

Why do you think?

AwfulButTrue · 12/09/2026 18:11

GreenFootstool · 12/09/2026 18:10

Why do you think?

You don't think a burka in a school or an airport is a risk?

OP posts:
GreenFootstool · 12/09/2026 18:12

And ref Palestinian protests etc - yes, if the police for that area designate it under Section 158 of the Crime and Policing Act 2025, then they can indeed also be arrested.

If they don't invoke these temporary restrictions, then this offence is not in play.

AwfulButTrue · 12/09/2026 18:13

So when has that happened at a pro palestine march?

Why is that only implemented at these protests?

Do you understand the difference between a burqa, niqab, hijab or an abaya?

Well yeah he was arrested for wearing a face covering. Why would a Muslim woman go on an anti Muslim march? He obviously thought he was being clever and they made an example of him.

AwfulButTrue · 12/09/2026 18:20

So if a muslim woman is at a protest would a policeman ask her to uncover her face in front of men?

Or would they say she has a right to protest and a right to her religious exemption?

Sooooo, in the classic words of the right "educate yourself" - you appear to have access to the Internet. You could Google it.

But this is clearly not a conversation in good faith - of any type or religion.

If she were part of the protest, and wearing it to conceal her identity then an officer would have the option to do the exact same investigation as they did with the man and see whether they have reasonable grounds to suspect the offence has been committed before deciding whether an arrest was necessary.

So in short, yes she could be arrested.

The police would NEVER tell a muslim woman to unveil in front of a load of muslim men or face arrest. Never. The whole fucking country would implode with indignation.

You can't have it both ways.

The hypothetical woman in question isn't being asked to unveil, she's being arrested for concealing her identity at a protest which is a prohibited act.

But then the police must explain why they believe this person is not a Muslim woman. I mean, he says he is, so why should they not accept his word? Aren’t we always told no one would pretend to be trans, so all people claiming a trans identity are honest?

Irrelevant. No one wearing face coverings can attend a protest in this specific instance. That would of course include females wearing Islamic face coverings.

Do you get that it’s only in very specific circumstances that there is this law?
